SCOUTUS Unanimous Decision in Favor of Phil Catholic Charities
LumRaiderFan replied to Hagar's topic in Political Forum
I probably should have been more specific. I understand the "rights" one has with marriage (inheritance, etc.) but I was speaking more to the point that CB made about the gov benefits that are extended to man/women marriage and not to gay couples. I don't agree that you should be taxed at a different rate just because you are married or have kids, if that carrot was removed for straight married couples then argument over, no one else would be lobbying to get it. I also disagree that SS should only be eligible to be passed on to certain family members, it's their money, they should be able to pass it on to whoever they wish, straight or gay. I'm tired of this gov picking winners and losers. I understand this is as likely to happen as the flat tax or term limits, but one can wish. -
SCOUTUS Unanimous Decision in Favor of Phil Catholic Charities

There should be no rights or benefits to marriage at all. Gov should not be in the business of marriage licenses and deciding that you can pay less taxes if you're married. Equal gov benefits for all....none. -

More proof that the LGBTQ crowd doesn't want to simply be left alone. -
[Hidden Content] From the article: The conservative group representing Colorado baker Jack Phillips vowed to appeal after a judge sided with the plaintiff, a transgender woman, on Tuesday following Phillips' refusal to make a cake celebrating a gender transition. "In this case, an activist attorney demanded Jack create custom cakes in order to ‘test’ Jack and ‘correct the errors’ of his thinking, and the activist even threatened to sue Jack again if the case is dismissed for any reason," Alliance Defending Freedom General Counsel Kristen Waggoner said in a statement. "Radical activists and government officials are targeting artists like Jack because they won’t promote messages on marriage and sexuality that violate their core convictions." Waggoner said the case "represents a disturbing trend: the weaponization of our justice system to ruin those with whom the activists disagree." "We will appeal this decision and continue to defend the freedom of all Americans to peacefully live and work according to their deeply held beliefs without fear of punishment," she said. We keep hearing these folks just want to be left alone to live their lives, fine, I can do that, not my business, but the truth is that there is a very loud group that wants to punish folks that will not put a stamp of approval on their behavior. Why can't these folks just find a baker who will bake the cake for them and move on?

That’s the long range plan.

[Hidden Content] caps are found mostly, cold to hold much moisture. From the article: Ice caps are found mostly on Greenland and Antarctica, about 9 percent of the Earth’s land area. Ice caps may be thousands of meters thick. Ice cap areas have extremely low average annual temperatures, e.g. −29 ºC (−20 ºF) at Eismitte, Greenland. Precipitation is low because the air is too cold to hold much moisture. Can someone actually explain why global warming that the experts claim is increasing temperature by 1/2 degree C in the last 100 years is melting the ice caps when the average temperatures remain at the average posted above? Serious question, just looking for a reasonable answer.
