That's how I see it as well, it's not a clear cut way to define political ideology. Conservatism to me in the traditional since means less gov intrusion into my life, lower taxes, less regulation, stick close to the laws of the Constitution, etc. I guess on the other hand, since the law of the land is that abortion is legal, one could twist that to say a conservative view is to keep things the same and keep it legal.
