Many of the folks that say healthcare is not affordable are paying more for a vehicle note, have satellite or cable TV, atv, boat, on and on. Not all, but many, because I hear it all the time. I look at the healthcare costs that are absorbed by a company to be an extension of the benefits package. If these companies are able to keep more of their profits and not get hammered by taxes, they can pass more of that benefit on to employees while even adding more.

The fix to me is for gov to move out of the way and allow businesses to expand and not be taxed to death. Companies supplementing the employees insurance is what makes it affordable. We can’t place unsustainable burdens on business such as a bogus minimum wage or cadillac health care plans and expect them to provide affordable healthcare. Many of the same folks that complain about tax breaks for corporations expect them to continue providing endless services while paying such high taxes. Let them keep the money...they can make it work for employees much better than the gov ever will. One can dream, huh?

That’s right...don’t touch my medicare because I paid for it...forced to by the fed gov. It’s not something the gov is doing you a favor by returning...it’s yours.

The same folks that are causing this are the same folks you seem to think can fix the problem. We made the mess...we can fix it.

Apparently, some think it is outrageous to pay a private company what we are paying for insurance, but more taxes to pay for worse insurance is acceptable. It all boils down to many folks trust the fed gov more than the private sector.

If you are paying higher taxes, how does that make your healthcare less?

I disagree, mat, my insurance was affordable and I was pleased with my coverage. There were millions like me with the same thoughts.

Maybe because of the ridiculous corporate tax rate, maybe because of the years and years of testing and tens of millions of dollars required to approve a product. And once approved, if anything goes wrong the ambulance chasers swoop in and sue the heck out of a company requiring them to carry ridiculous liability insurance. All things approved of by your party, who has a hatred for big pharma.

Competition in the private market is what has made this country the greatest in the world., shame that you can't see that. You can throw out all these types of stats you want, when the wealthy in any area of the world is ill and needs the best care, they come here. Don't you get tired of downgrading America?

Obama had one purpose...single payer. Republicans have been trying to allow competition across all states for years. The Dems didn’t want any of that, because it was still privatized and not under the thumb of the fed gov. Remember Obama telling the woman’s mother she may have to take a pill instead of receiving an operation...there was a glimpse of Obamacare straight from the liars mouth.

I understand what the law is, but you will never keep someone from acquiring a weapon if they want one...ever. If they are too dangerous to be trusted with a weapon, better keep them locked up as has been mentioned here earlier. This is a post about opinions, not the standing law, although I can definitely understand folks that feel these rights should never be restored.

Every since AOC did her little protest sit in, I figured the Dems would take her out for making the old heads look bad. Might be a little more difficult now that she’s gathering more support...but I’m sure they’ll get it done if she continues.

I will clarify that I think they should be allowed to vote after they have served their time.

I agree to a point with Mat...if they pay their debt to society, I lean towards return all their rights. The violent offender is a tough one. If they get out after a lengthy sentence and they want a gun they’ll get one. I would have a hard time not enabling someone to protect themselves but I can certainly understand someones point that feels they lose these rights.
