Jim Jordan Blisters Dems In Genius Opening Statement!
LumRaiderFan replied to Reagan's topic in Political Forum
Agree, I have been a fan of gridlock recently because that seemed to be the best way for bad policy to be stopped. Our lawmakers need to consist of a group of reasonable individuals that are measuring all legislation against our Constitution. That being said, they must first understand our Constitution and govern by it, even when it is in disagreement with their own ideology. (One can always wish, huh?) If this calls for more lawyers, which I would think would be inclined to try to reach some sort of compromise on most issues, then I'm all for it. Some issues are too important to compromise on and most should be dealt with on the state level anyway. (Wishing again) I see these freshman congressmen and women come in with no regard for the Constitution and no intention of negotiating, even within their own party. Hopefully, it will improve (by purging the agitators) but until then, I'll continue to root for gridlock. -

You must be privy to it, you already know the net will be full of fish. -
Can you imagine how much money would need to be budgeted in the name of “compassionate legislation” for TDS?

Give us a list of these actual charges. Insulting our allies, that’s funny coming from an obama fan. Like I said, back up your arguments...for once.

Legislative compassion? Why don’t you do volunteer work on your own...no legislation required. Take a look at our budget...it has gobs of legislative “compassion “ that has been going on for decades and all it has done is cause misery and kept the poor enslaved in welfare all for votes by your pathetic party, -

[Hidden Content] From the article: Starting with the 2002 budget request in April 2001, the Bush administration raised red flags about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. In 2003, the White House warned that financial problems with the organizations could spread well beyond the housing sector and proposed to Congress that they create a new regulatory agency to supervise Fannie and Freddie. On Sept. 10, 2003, Rep. Frank objected, stating, “Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are not in a crisis”¦ The more people, in my judgment, exaggerate a threat of safety and soundness, the more people conjure up the possibility of serious financial losses to the treasury, which I do not see. I think we see entities that are fundamentally sound financially”¦ But the more pressure there is, then the less I think we will see in terms of affordable housing.”
