  1. Nah, folks are tired of crooked joe and his dimwitted sidekick. Senator Kennedy recently said if they discover life on Mars, biden would want to send them money.
  2. Never said anything about scholarships, but a coach can require the team to be on the floor before the game.
  3. Being present on the floor for team protocol is not the same thing.
  4. But only mandated by the school, wouldn’t you agree?
  5. It's a shame you don't understand that there are sometime consequences to saying something, even though it is guaranteed under you first amendment rights. Most folks learn that at an early age, apparently you didn't.
  6. You don’t even understand what you’re talking about, they absolutely do have the right to do that, but the school has the right to take disciplinary action, it happens with what kids say on social media, they have the right to say it, but the school can punish them for breaking protocol. If I set in a meeting tomorrow with a customer and my boss and rag on our company, I have the first amendment right to say it, but they have the right to fire me for saying it. You’re first amendment right argument that folks are immune to consequences is bogus. I would like to see schools set protocol to stand for the National Anthem, if you don’t, there may be consequences, but it should entirely be up to the school.
  7. So if a player is Muslim, should they be allowed to roll out their mat and worship Allah in the middle of a game? Freedom of religion, right?
  8. We seemed to have moved dangerously away from minimum wage jobs being reserved for part-time workers and students. This experiment is definitely not working.
  9. But I also want it to be the school's choice, certainly wouldn't want government involved in mandating something like this, which is being floated around.
  10. I simply made the point that I think athletes should be present for the National Anthem, not specifically about a particular coach or team. Apparently myself, as well as the governor of LA didn't realize this was so common in college basketball, not for any other reason than final preparation. I still think they should be present, simply out of respect.
  11. Apparently you haven't read my comments on this or you wouldn't make that overdramatic statement, which you often do. You said, and I quote, "But if it’s not one manufactured issue it’s another for many on the right." I get tired of the nonsense that the issues from the right even compare to the nonsense from the left, you even started a thread about it that is SEVEN pages long and I bet there isn't one post on there about nonsense from the right, it's ALL left. Whatever they do is way worse, period.
  12. Such as the "manufactured" issue of trans men dominating women's sports, the right just won't shut up about anything, will they? You're failing to see where the real problems stem from.
  13. Like I have said, it seems like a no-brainer, as far as respect goes, but it is what it is and probably won't change, I'm sure being required to be present for the National Anthem will become another "controversial" issue. Like I have also said, I won't lose any sleep over this one, lol.
  14. Not everyone on the right is outraged about this, don't make it more than it is.
  15. I see where some teams are out for the National Anthem, some are regularly not. The last minute preparation isn't a very good excuse, imo, and some teams work around it. I constantly hear about a coach's job is about building character AND talent, seems to me this easy adjustment would be a no-brainer, but I certainly won't lose any sleep either way on this one.
  16. I feel this should be simply protocol, you want to represent the school, be on the floor for the National Anthem. Just like not being able to choose to sit with your buddies in the stands while you're not playing or be on your phone during the game. Not a first amendment thing, should be a standard for any school, jmo.
  17. [Hidden Content] From the article: Another California small business and its workers have seemingly suffered at the hands of the state’s newly enacted $20 minimum wage. "It's a shock," Monica Navarro, former assistant general manager at Foster’s Freeze in Lemoore, said on "The Bottom Line" Wednesday. "It would have been nice to have a notice so we could go get some applications [out], I could prepare them," she continued. "The best I can do is honestly give them some references." When making their way to work Monday morning, Navarro and her team learned upon arrival that the restaurant owner had made the decision to close its doors for good. The owner, Loren Wright, told local Fox affiliate KMPH that this was the "last thing" they wanted to do, but knew by Friday night the business likely wouldn’t be able to absorb the wage hike and didn’t "want to ruin their Easter Sunday."
  18. I’m not singling out a particular team in my comments, I just think it’s not too much to ask for all teams to be on the floor for the National Anthem. I agree, lots of teams do this with no ill intent, LSU just seemed to be the ones to bring national attention to it.
  19. Would be nice if all judges on every level held the Constitution in such high esteem.
  20. Stand for the National Anthem in all sports, it's not that difficult.
  21. You mean other than the military and healthcare workers?
  22. Folks need to really think about that, they forced businesses to unnecessarily close, arrested folks that were on the beach, but sit back and do nothing while this invasion occurs, even legally battling states like Texas that were trying to do what the federal government is Constitutionally bound to do. You won’t get any comment, other than something like, “man, you must live on here with your sad life”.
  23. Energy independence for the first time ever, most secure the border has been, record low unemployment for minorities, SCJ that choose to give power back to the states. It's gonna be terrible, hopefully biden pulls it out so we can keep this Utopia going.
  24. No, I live in the real world, you're the one living in the clown world that thinks what we have going on right now is no different than what we had under Trump. I don't like the guy either but the "I'm not wasting my time listing them" is a cop out, you're not listing these dangerous policies and actions because there are none. It really is a waste of time thinking we could debate specific actions.
