You cant defend things they are doing no matter how you spin it, this deal with Solyndra company cant be defended the emails from the doe saying they would go broke in sept. and they gave them the money anyway. This has gotten beyond ridiculous. The media has invested to much into this admin. to report the way it should be reported. I guess I'am just a racist because I dont like any of his policies. Nothing they have done since they have been their has helped repair the damage done by the prior administration.
Fixed it for you.
I agree the last admin.stunk it up too. What they are doing is not helping anyone oh wait yes you can have your kids on your ins. till their 26. They are blowing thru our money quicker than any other ever have, more people on food stamps out of work out of thier house and cant afford anything, so if thats fixin it I guess I,am just wrong...Cloward & Pevin read it and I guess we will wait and see!
77.  Nobody knows who Cloward and Pevin were.  How many more posts do we have to endure about a couple of people nobody ever heard of?  Is this all you can come up with? How about this one TB, the Democrats had a super majority for two years. There is nothing that the Republicans could do to stop anything that the Democrats wanted to do. What do we have to show for it? They could have pushed tax increases, tax cuts or whatever else they wanted. They did not even want to submit a budget so the public would not see the tiger in its true stripes.
Could have, but didn't.  so why do Republicans still cry and fret over guns, taxes etc?  Glen Beck has you guys scared of your own shadow.
Why do they fret over guns and taxes?  The reason I fret over taxes is because I want the money to be in the hands of someone who knows how to productively deploy it and, contrary to the typical dem belief, it definitely is NOT the government.  I know you lean more the left and I to the right, but can you honestly tell me  you believe that, since the current President took office, that the economic policies have been the right ones?
Depends, I guess.  Do you mean the tax cut extensions?  Don't see how you argue about that.  How about stimulus.  Just about every economist you read about says stimulus is a tool which should be used to fight off recession.  Was the stimulus the right type?  Don't know.  How bad would things have gotten for the auto industry without the clunker deal and cash bailouts?  We won't ever know.  We do know that expanding the money supply is a proven way to grow the economy.  I assume if the answers were easy, we wouldn't have gone into a recession in the first place.
So then, can I assume it is your contention that the first "stimulus" merely saved things from being worse and the proposed "stimulus" is the one that will get things going again?  The same "economists" who were involved in crafting the "first stimulus" also said that by now (yes, the quote was the third quarter of 2011) unemployment would be below 8%.  While I understand that expanding the money supply(translation; printing money) is believed to help grow an economy, there is always an eventual price to pay called inflation.( if inflation doesnt scare you , it should - check out1977 when carter took office and inflation was at 6.5% the next year it was 7.62%, the next year it was 11.22% the next year it was 13.58% - In Reagans first term, one year after taking office it was back to 6.16%)  Additionally, history does NOT include any money supply expansion of this magnitude.  The current proposal advocates borrowing more $ to hire teachers, policemen, firemen, and construction workers for infrastructure projects( really does "sound" great).  When those borrowed funds have all been used, what leads you to believe that those "created" jobs will remain in existence?  Some believe that, after those funds have been used, the only thing left will be the debt we "created" and likely wont be able to repay.  And when that day comes, we will then be told that all of these brilliant politicians and economists think that more government involvement is our only hope and, of course, that the "rich" are not paying their fair share.  I am still hoping that the day will come that people will conclude that the government is NOT the solution to all problems, particularly of a financial nature.  Doesnt it ever make  you wonder what would happen if, instead of getting more involved in business, the government just got out of the way and let the markets make the decisions?  Solyndra was spending $6 per solar panel and selling it for $3.  We don't need those types of solutions.
Sorry man.  Might could have learned something but it was too long for my attention span.
Smaller paragraphs nash...know your crowd!  ;D

The average home owned by persons classified as poor by the Census Bureau is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths, a garage, and a porch or patio. Eighty percent of poor households have air conditioning. By contrast, in 1970, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning. Only 6 percent of poor households are overcrowded. More than two-thirds have more than two rooms per person. The average poor American has more living space than the average individual living in Paris, London, Vienna, Athens, and other cities throughout Europe. (These comparisons are to the average citizens in foreign countries, not to those classified as poor.) Nearly three-quarters of poor households own a car; 31 percent own two or more cars. Ninety-seven percent of poor households have a color television; over half own two or more color televisions. Seventy-eight percent have a VCR or DVD player; 62 percent have cable or satellite TV reception. Eighty-nine percent own microwave ovens, more than half have a stereo, and more than a third have an automatic dishwasher [Hidden Content]
Greatest country in the world...how else could you describe a place where the poor is so well off?
Agree 100%.  Why are people so quick to shoot holes in a guy trying to help out local kids?  Might the costs paid help defray the costs of bringing all these scouts in?  In case you haven't heard, the State of Texas, along with many other states, are cutting the budgets of most universities.  Which directly impacts athletic budgets.  So to get a gathering of all these scouts, maybe he has to offer to pay some of their expenses?  The "what's in it for him" is that by gathering all these scouts, maybe he can get a full combine, so he can scout players for his college. Funny how so many people are quick to take credit for a kids success on this board.  But criticize those who legitimately give a kid opportunities.  DaBears-if people listened to you, no one would get recruited.  Just send out e-mails and wait for them to come to your high school game? (perhaps a high school coach?)  Insane.  To get recruited today, not only do you have to have talent, you have to be seen.  Being seen today, means being in the right place at the right time.  Unless you have a kid on your high school team throwing low 90's or an athlete who is a legit 5 tool player, or be playing against one of these types of players, you won't get seen just by playing high school ball.  Of the 2011 class who signed on to play college ball, very few did it by just playing high school ball.  They were seen with their select team playing in a summer tournament, they were seen at a college prospect camp, they were seen at one of these combines, they were seen at one of the Monday night games that Fackler runs, and they were seen at a Perfect Game, or simlar camp.  In order to be seen, you need to attend these combines, you need to go to as many college prospect camps as possible, you need to get on a summer team that travels to college venues, or close to college venues.  All of which, cost money.  As a parent, you have to determine if the benefit out weighs the cost. There isn't one magic bullet to being seen, then ultimately getting a scholarship.  It is a long and arduous process that involves a little luck and a lot of hard work.  Coach Harrington is simply giving kids another option to "being seen".  Is that so bad?
