Jasper to return to 5 day school week
LumRaiderFan replied to Dirty_but_Dazzling's topic in Local Headlines
And the folks that are pushing this are clearly underestimating the job of two working parents barely getting by or a single mother with no support. Work five days a week like it has been forever, like everyone else. -

Agree, and especially tough on single moms with no support. It's ridiculous, work 5 days like everyone else does. -
[Hidden Content] A sitting SCJ that doesn't understand the Constitution, smh. I feel like she's channeling Obama when he called the Constitution a "charter of negative liberties". From the article: As the justices questioned whether the Biden administration crossed the constitutional line, Jackson appeared to suggest that such actions can be justified. "My biggest concern is that your view has the First Amendment hamstringing the federal government in significant ways in the most important time periods," she told the lawyer representing Louisiana, Missouri and private plaintiffs. "And so I guess some might say that the government actually has a duty to take steps to protect the citizens of this country, and you seem to be suggesting that that duty cannot manifest itself in the government encouraging or even pressuring platforms to take down harmful information," she continued. "So can you help me? Because I'm really – I'm really worried about that because you've got the First Amendment operating in an environment of threatening circumstances from the government's perspective, and you're saying that the government can't interact with the source of those problems," Jackson added. Her comments quickly went viral with dozens of people insisting that "hamstringing the federal government" is "literally the point" of the First Amendment.

Both Trump and Biden did what most Presidents have done, with no nefarious intent, I will add. None have received the treatment from Democrats and the media like Trump has for doing the same thing other Presidents have done. Whether you like the guy or not, and I’m not a fan of the man, the constant charges, impeachments and general coverage is something that should be an embarrassment to this country, all while many ignore the vegetable in the White House.

[Hidden Content] Insanity!! From the article: Thieves have begun breaking into houses to steal keys in order to steal cars, prompting controversial prevention advice from Toronto Police Constable Marco Ricciardi at an Etobicoke town hall last month, according to City News. During the town hall, Ricciardi advised that residents leave their car keys near the front doors of their houses so that they do not have to confront violent criminals, who he noted often have "real guns." He said at the Feb. 27 meeting, "To prevent the possibility of being attacked in your home, leave your FOBs at your front door. Because they’re breaking into your home to steal your car. They don’t want anything else." "A lot of them that they’re arresting have guns on them. And they’re not toy guns, they’re real guns. They’re loaded," he added. -
Donald Trump Declares WAR On The Mexican Drug Cartels!

Can't wait to get started on the wall again. Of course, new material will have to be brought in because I'm sure all the lay-down yards have been pillaged with the stamp of approval from this administration. -
Tough news for the snowflakes.

Yes, he does, you really should read more on subjects before commenting. [Hidden Content] From the article: Since President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, his administration has acted on a number of fronts to reverse Trump-era restrictions on immigration to the United States. The steps include plans to boost refugee admissions, preserving deportation relief for unauthorized immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and not enforcing the “public charge” rule that denies green cards to immigrants who might use public benefits like Medicaid. Biden has also lifted restrictions established early in the coronavirus pandemic that drastically reduced the number of visas issued to immigrants. The number of people who received a green card declined from about 240,000 in the second quarter of the 2020 fiscal year (January to March) to about 79,000 in the third quarter (April to June). By comparison, in the third quarter of fiscal 2019, nearly 266,000 people received a green card. Biden’s biggest immigration proposal to date would allow more new immigrants into the U.S. while giving millions of unauthorized immigrants who are already in the country a pathway to legal status. The expansive legislation would create an eight-year path to citizenship for the nation’s estimated 10.5 million unauthorized immigrants, update the existing family-based immigration system, revise employment-based visa rules and increase the number of diversity visas. By contrast, President Donald Trump’s administration sought to restrict legal immigration in a variety of ways, including through legislation that would have overhauled the nation’s legal immigration system by sharply reducing family-based immigration.
