1. It's my understanding that HJ called at 3 o'clock to cancel and has no intention of making the game up on Monday, which was offered.  Furthermore, no other school's jv canceled tonight due to threat of bad weather.  LCM played in Lumberton and it only rain a little on them.  It's almost ten and still hasn't rain in Orange.  What's up with that?  It was a district game to our jv players. I don't care if anybody agrees with me or not.  I'm just giving my opinion.
2. I'm curious to know if ALL freshman and JV games in the area get cancelled or not.  Hmmmmmmmm....
3. I feel the same way, Gas.  HJ made a big deal out of WOS volleyball girls "forfeiting" the game to go to a football game and we have a "possibility" of bad weather coming and HJ goes ahead and cancels before it ever gets here.  What's up with that? Maybe we should have done that with a couple of our rainy nights.
4. Why does the UIL want to take over officiating?  Don't they have their hands in enough pots?
5. I can't believe this thread has gone on as long as it has because of the flag carrier!  Good grief!!!!  Brookshire Royals BAND (and I have seen several other schools do it too, Nederland for one)....marches to their stands via right in front of ours and noone from WOS came on here talking about it being disrespectful.  Nederland did it, too.  our cheerleaders had to move all of their stuff off the area where they cheer so that Nederlands band could march in front of our crowd.  Not once did anyone from WOS come on here and complain about either school.  But let WOS do anything like that and we get crucified.  Once again, good grief!!!!
6.

I wonder: do coaches ever yell at the officials?  Maybe someone can help me out here.           i know from personal experience that this would "NEVER" happen at a WOS game.  Coach Hooks would not allow this to take place.
LOL.  Does every other play count? ;D
7. For WOS, this year....."You Dropped A Bomb On Me." Seems like we have surprises every week.....
8. What did I get out of the Shepherd situation? At least a board member from THEIR school had guts enough to stand up for THEIR kids! I can think of one school in particular where that doesn't happen!!!!! As far as people yelling at the coaches...it's ridiculous! I am, however, guilty of booing an official! ;D
9. Good post Bleed. It's gone way too far now. The school board can step up and say the kids have been punished enough and let's move on. It's time for THEM to do the right thing now. For crying out loud, the kids didn't even get suspended from school, only the extra-curricular activities. Where is the line drawn on this?
10. 7th member abstained due to conflict of interest.
11. Once again, the WOS school board falls short on making a decision. Lawyers should have been present tonight, imo. File an injunction tomorrow!!!! If it had something to do with school, I would feel differently about this situation. But the situation did NOT happen on school grounds!!!!! Where in the heck is the common sense?
12. The problem with this situation is that it happened over the summer and/or a couple of years ago, from what I have heard. It puzzles me as to why the school is even involved. Furthermore, if it warranted suspension, why were they not suspending from school? The entire situation, once again, was handled improperly. It shouldn't even be coming down to the school board's decision. I am in hopes that the school board will see this and handle it properly from here on out.
13. The situation from Silsbee regarding the players DID get locked and/or deleted. Since it was accusations only, it was a short lived discussion.
14. I agree that the UIL seems to be more about the money than what is common sense and/or fair. And let's don't forget that the people who run the UIL have their favorite hometown team as well!!!! Politics.... >
15. My thoughts on it are that if it didn't happen at school, why is the school involved?
16. I definitely think OF needs some respect. They are scary to me with their explosive offense!
17. BC does something similar... they start practice 10-15 minutes after tutorials would end so kids have time to get in for extra help (but dont walk them to it... you'd think being in highschool you'd have enough responsibility to do so yourself) they also do the weekly grade reports to make sure the players are passing and if their not then use your imagination on a punishment. I hear ya on the walking them to tutorials. And then again, you'd think they'd have enough responsibility to make sure they are passing and not force themselves into tutorials. I see corporal punishment at BC field house. LOL
18. WOS coaches keep a tight rein on who is failing. They get reports from teachers weekly. They set practice back 30-45 mins later during tutorial periods and walk the players to tutorials when necessary. It's worked for a lot of years. They implemented the system in the mid 90's.
19. Jasper is larger than Carthage?
20. Yep, admin....he was way too young!!! Condolences to the Dean family and the Luling community.
21. I even admitted I was wrong to Aggies and now it's deleted, so I guess there goes my apology, right? ;D
22. Your headline may be funny but your little "show" sure isn't. SPCA sure wouldn't like it, either.....
23. Dark green is in our area as well, liltex.
24. Looks like pretty intense storms. Is the dark blue in the middle supposed to be milder or worse than the dark green?
25. I'll go with this one! Thanks, DP
