Predictions on who will win shetland tournament in orange
tgreen replied to pirate87's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
you know tchawk....looks like you are good at going hmmmmm!!! just like i said on the oybs post...once again..you are running your mouth when you don't know what you are talking about. if you knew me then you would know that i can't wait to play vidor again. let me explain to you like a child....it may not have rained at those other fields like it rained at ours. we got heavy rains daily on ours and every day after the rain we have been out there fixing the field. however there is only so much we can do without mother nature. fixing the field and playing in mud and fixing the field and again playing in mud is why the field is not in shape to play on. if you don't beleive us then get in your car and drive over and see for yourself. but you would probably prefer to just stay on here and say hmmmmm!!! -
tchawk....its people like you that foam at the mouth and don't know what you are talking about. first...this is the first time that i have been on this post since we lost to vidor. between work and working on the field and practicing with my team, i have not had time to get on here. congrats to vidor for beating us. coach carter had his team ready to play. vidor has a great team and a great coaching staff. secondly...tchawks....i dont know if you have seen our field or not, but we did good to get in the games we did get in this week with all the rain we have been hit with. we have been busting ours all week long getting the field readyday after day after heavy rains all week. the field has taken a beating. so before you hmmmmm on here, make sure you know whats going on. i am a good guy and would never take anything away from a team that beat us fare and square. coach carter and i know each other and have talked many, many times. vidor played very good ball and we did not. coach carter will vouch that we both have very good teams and it all boils down to who shows up!!!! again...congrats to vidor and coach carter. hopefully we will get another shot at them!!!

i would also like send a big THANKS out to td, brew, and dave for the hard work and long hours this weekend to make these games possible. a lot of people don't realize what all needs to be done especially when the weather is not so good. most people just expect to show up and play. Thanks again!!!!

All Star tournament starts this weekend for shetland. tournament is in orange, so everyone come out and support these kids. i'm sure there will be some very good games to be seen. we have a great bunch of kids that love the game of baseball and who want to win. the coaches are very proud of their hard work and dedication over the last four or so weeks. they are very anxious to play. good luck to all the all star teams. hopefully the rain will hold off for us. Orange A team plays sunday night at 7:15. Orange B plays saturday at 3:45. Let's go Orange All-Stars!!!!!!!!

i only wish shetland would have went as well as pinto went. td's team should go all the way this year. very talented team with great coaching staff. good luck all stars!!!!!
-
well said gasilla!!!! thanks for the comments. if a lot of the parents and some of the coaches in this league would realize this we would be better off. all they want to do is whine and go behind your back and talk trash about you when you are teaching these kids the game of baseball and as a result...WINNING!!! But if they were on that coaches team and their kids were learning and winning...then they would have no problem with anything.
-
great job td.....those dallas boys went 22-0 this season!!! Congrats
-
five of the A's made first team and two made second team. wat to go A's. we are very proud of you!! now go represent in All-Stars!!!! 8)
-
there were no rules broken here. like sville said "if you don't like it, get on the board", but i doubt that will happen because instead of getting on the board and making a difference, all you want to do is whine and complain.
-
thats the way it has been for a while. tball and shetland leagues does it and also softball pixie 6u and pixie 8u does it. it wasn't a rule the board made this year or last year. it has been in place for sometime now.
-
sounds like stacked will never be happy. he's to busy pouting and whining!!!! that is a shame that you are one of the coaches in this league and you have to hide behind a screen name. if you would have been practicing with your team instead of whining about a "stacked team", maybe you could have won the league.

A's win the directors tournament 17-6 over vidor angels. those 5 and 6 year olds played their hearts out and hit the ball very well. us coaches of the a's are very proud of our boys and girl. all the hard work and dedication was well worth it!!! Way to go A's
-
congrats beau!!! you gave us many great memories as a bear from brenham to u of h to the dome and then to austin. good luck in your success. hope to see you in the bigs!!!!
-
we won saturday and yesterday. we play again tonight at 6 pm
-
bigshot...thanks for the positive feedback. the throwing issue has been addressed. what we have taught is if the ball is hit on first base side, down the line and he can get to it...to go ahead and tag the runner. this takes making an extra throw out of the situation. now...sometimes he will see its a slow runner and run over and tag, but we try to make that throw in that situation.
-
stacked...if you read the first post on here, then you know that the parents can request the coach they want their kid to have. talk to those parents and they will tell you why they requested who they did. as far as losing the players due to age, we handled that situation not to far into the season. the a's still had a great season after that, so what has that got to do with anything. i was trying to refrain from posting on here, but us coaches of the a's are tired of hearing it. we coach and teach these kids the game of baseball and we practice and practice. then after practice, the parents practice with their kids at home or at the cages. if we have practice and it rains, we don't rain out, we go to the cages and practice. but everybody doesn't see the 'behind the scenes' work that goes on, they just see how we play and ridicule us for being good. so for those of you who are whining.....quit whining and go practice!!!!!
-
congrats beau!!! i am very happy to see you making your way to the top. Good luck "when you make it to the BIGS"

looks like bigjace reconsidered on his personal comment about brian...good move!!!! i wish brian all the luck in the world at deweyville. keep your head up, brian!!
-
must be another moron from lumberton....i'm sure you are perfect in life. to bring a coaches personal life on here makes you big and bad, eh!! i am from lcm and have been around the baseball program for a long time....all the way back from a teenager when brian's dad coached at lcm. i just cannot believe what i am hearing. coach buff (brian's dad) is what started the winning tradition at lcm. then when he left, the program went downhill a little bit until coach griff came in (griff played for coach buff...so i'm sure that griff got some of his discipline and coaching antics from Buff)... i'm sure that brian also will have a winning tradition because he was raised by one of the best. if this is the way it is in lumberton... i feel sorry for any coach coming in. good luck!!!

i think both select and high school are great for the baseball players. it also depends on what the high school coach is willing to do. the select teams only make the high school team better. my brother played select ball in houston in middle 90's and their select team went to play all over the country. just about everyone on his high school team played select ball. then when it came time for high school ball at lcm, they went deep in the playoffs and in '96 went to the state championship game under griff and sam moore. just about all those players got scholarships for college. after the season... for the atletes that were not already signed... griff and and moore worked hard for these athletes to be seen at the next level. so i think it is a combination of select, high school, and the coaches!!!
-
griff will have them ready to play!!
-
i know coach griff very well and it really does not matter how young or old, if you have talent and can play ball, you are going to play!!
