Well. That surprised me about Woodville -

Orangefield has maybe made it passed the first round maybe once the last 5 years. I think they got to the 2 round in 2022 & maybe 2017…. EC has gone 3 rounds several time over the last 7-10 years. Woodville is a team that goes D1 to D2 & has gone 3 rounds. I have my thoughts on why Orangefield can’t win 2 playoff games but that’s another story. overall the area still have great football teams like WOS (always good except last two years) /HF (resent raise) /PNG (resent ). but for our district, I can only blame coaching since Orangefield is one of the biggest school in 3A & we can’t win…. But that’s only because I can’t think of why District 10 can’t win. oh… to be fair…. I can’t of a true D1 athlete in that same time frame. That is also important. -

I was wondering about that. D 9 has swept D 10 multiple times over the last few years -
Well history has been on the OL side for being solid. Since district, I don’t think the OL has given up put one maybe two sacks. Kirbyville was the only one I can remember. I’d like to see some accurate stats on Fairfield & the running game.
-
🙄. Did they have a new AD in 2023?
-
Fairfield DL looked bigger than Orangefields. We do have a big big OL guard but everyone else is low 200’s. Because of Fairfield DL, I expect our RB will hit the open gaps hard & fast & I don’t know a LB that can catch him. I did see Fairfield vs Crocket game & I wasn’t overwhelmingly impressed. Crocket had a lot of dropped passes. I think we can score 3 or 4 TD by half.

CS was driving to win the game in the last three minutes of the game. Unfortunately CS RB come out of the game & Orangefield held on. PS, I never really founded out what happened to him. I know he took some hard hit by our DE & Middle LB. Teams have to respect Orangefield running game with their RB, if the LB come in to fill the gap, the QB will keep it or hit them slants & can throw them deep. I’m hopeful Orangefield can make it to the regional finals this year. That would be a super high bar to set. Most of the skilled players are juniors and the QB is a sophomore. it starts this Friday.
-
I would have to agree being logical but any given Friday night anything can happen
-
Well last year district 9 swept district 10 in the first round. So 3-1 for district 10 would be great. Hopefully we get to play Franklin in the regional championship in football like we did for baseball with a different outcome. I’m hoping all the Franklin baseball players graduated. 😆

Well I saw them play Crocket on Saturday & I couldn’t really make an honest judgement. Didn’t know the ability of Crocket as they struggled a lot. Fairfield has some good size linemen in both side of the ball but were slow so hopefully of RB can stick with his quickness & speed.

Can Orangefield make it past the first round in years with the new AD? I sure hope so. Taking Bobcats by 14.

I can respect that. Few would ever post something like this. Like someone said. The Boys bought into the program & embraced this opportunity for a new beginning. -

When the players play with a little chip on their shoulders by people constantly saying Orangefield can’t run the spread. Orangefield is too small, not enough talent bath bag bag… the kids had something to prove. Orangefield is still running a lot but has more than 2 passing routes….. that’s the difference. -

Keep on complaining & schools will not have enough Referees to even play. At every level calls are missed. As UT or any pro team. why would anyone subject themselves to this type of crying. Sign up & ref a game or two. win lose….. take it like a man & move on. -

Ok. Here me out. I hate generalizing but bear with me. this has always been my issue with the Double Wing T / Slot T / Wing T. it’s not that it’s not a good offensive scheme it actually is very good. That type of offense is absolutely brutal to not only the running back and the quarterback, but also the lineman. To complicate things even further most of your athletes on offense, skill players will be playing on defense where they will get the majority of the contact. By the time the player gets to mid third-quarter or fourth, the skill players are completely exhausted from running up to middle and being tackled every 3 yards x 6 people on top of them and then have to turn around and run and chase the other offense down. Cold spring running back was absolutely destroying the line of scrimmage, gaining 3/4 yards at a time and he did that for about 50/60 yards and his body just gave out he was probably exhausted because he probably played 70 to 80% of all the place. Playing 80% of the plays on both offense or defense is completely different at running back then at wide receiver like Travis Hunter. all this to say is the running of the wing T double wing T slot T is OK for liberty Hill because they have 5/6 running backs that are just as good as the starter but even two years ago injury caused them to lose a very big game, by a lot of points against PNG even though Orangefield‘s running back had 34 carries the majority of those carries were out on the flank and where he was only tackled by a few players, whereas Coldsprings running backs were tackled by five or six of Orangefield players, and that wears a kids body down None of what I’m saying is science all I’m saying is based off the last 14 years of seeing Orangefield run that kind of often it took a toll on running backs for the last 12 years the only one I can think that did not get hurt during his career was The kid that got 2,000 in a season. -

It was for sure a back & forth game. fumbles, interceptions & penalties keep both teams in the game.
