Man u must know something that no one in setx knows.. b/c i think every team you mentioned with the exception of maybe vidor actually has a realistic chance of making the playoffs, you are really high on a west brook team who lost alot of firepower, and is in a tough district with the likes of north shore and memorial... but your right they could slip up and nab that 4th spot..

Ozen doesnt have a QB... Thats kinda wierd b/c Brook doesnt have a proven QB either... Both teams have new starting QB and are young at alot of positions

The meet was held in houston at Barnett Stadium.. The team qualified to compete at the USA Regional Junior Olympic Championships by finishing 2nd place to top ranked "Track Houston Track Club", in the 4x100 meter relay. Track Houston Edged out BMT Track Club at the finish line with a 1st place time of 41.20, BMT Track finished 2nd with a time of 41.40. Trey Franks also captured USA GULF ASSOCIATION Championships in both the 100 & 200 meter dashes. The top 3 finishers from the regional championships will move on to compete in the USA Junior Olympic National Championships... Good Luck SETX!!!!!!

PNG as well has a new coach, and finished lower than Central so new coach cant be an excuse..

Ivory Williams is probably the fastest short sprinter, but I would have to go with Marlon Ramsey... His STATE record in the 400 meter will stand for a LONG time!!!!!

We've discussed the fastest in SETX as of right now, lets talk about the fastest to ever come from SETX..

If the question you are asking is BEST OVERALL Athlete it would not limit them to one sport such as football or track... So you wuold have to take into consideration how well they were in each sport which they competed in. There were many who excelled in both... Hall was an excellent football player who suffered a serious injury and also a state medalist in track... E. Thomas was a Willie Ray Smith Winner and a State medalist in track.. Many great athletes in SETX hard to judge them unless they go head up in each sport...

It is always good to come to this board for a laugh. Thanks. Why is it that people seem to forget that Ozen has only been out of the play-off scene for three out of the last four years... Which means Ozen is known for being a winning program.. Teams honestly should fear Ozen b/c every year Ozen is capable of beating any team, Coaching has been the down fall as of lately.. Therefore with the hiring of a new coach teams dont know what too expect.. Athletes are always going to be there, so all it will need is a leader to bring out the best in those athletes and then its back to reality, and reality being Ozen once again being in the top 3 spots each year in its disctrict.. I feel as though Ozen right now is like and Old Boxer, an old boxer always has a punchers chance in a fight.. So as long as Ozen has BIG PLAY potential they have a punchers chance to beat any team right now.. Last year defense and special teams played a major part, New Head, and New D-coordinator... ;) But Hey What do I Know? I completely agree. I am tired of trying to convince younger football fans that not to long ago, Ozen was in the playoff picture every year. Kids now and days dont understand about tradition, nor do they have the winning and competitive attitude where they hate losing just as much as they want to win.. Everyone wants to be a winner, but you have to honestly hate losing in order to prepare yourself to win.

Not exactly sure havent been out to he school to see them for spring yet.. but I know James White the RB has gained a tone a speed from track so he should be hard to catch if he breaks

I think tigervoice may be in denial that the best QB prospect in SETX isnt as fast as he thought he was.. Hey look at the bright side with the rescheduling of the regional meet they get to race again.. Franks has a shot a the STATE TITLE but will have to stay focus b/c kids come out of no where when you get to regional and state...

Trey Franks blew Johnson out at the district meet.... My apologies to Ozens Fastest@1906. In the 100 Meter finals Franks lowered his time to 10.52 while Johnson's time edeged up to 10.92. The time margin of victory was 0.40 or four tenths of a second and THAT IS a thumping between first and second. Thanks Dayton, for calling this to my attention. District 100 Meter: 1st = Franks 10.78; 2nd = Johnson 10.87. The winning time margin was 0.09 (that's 9 one-hundreds of a second) - HARDLY A BLOW OUT. I take it that your screen name is not indicative of the academics records you posted at Ozen. I seem to remember that being franks' time from the prelims... AAW said so I think. looking at the video it looked like it was quite a bit more than .09 in the finals. No apologies necessary, I've ran alot of track and I've seen alot of track, I'll go as far as saying that Franks could have ran even faster... Just take a quick look at my signature at the bottom

I can name a hand full who where better than E.J Leblanc, not taking anything away from him but (Freddy Lyons, Curtis & Corey Ceasar etc....) Chip Ambres was also a better QB than James Brown, Brown was an excellent QB in both High School and College, but Amrbres was the better QB just never played at college level, I'll make it easier for you, if he would have signed with Texas A&M then he would have been the Michael Vick of his time and R.C Slocum might have kept his job for a little while longer...

Well the thing about spring football is that, as a head coach it gives you a chance to have your athletes perform and gives the assistant coaches an early evaluation of where the kids are and allows them extra time to make adjustments. Where as if you wait until August to see anything that needs to be altered you only a have a few weeks before the first game. It is also almost mandatory when you have a new coach who brings in a new system, kids can learn the new offense & defense and coaches can find areas of needed improvement
