Are there any good sprinters coming back in the area West Brook, Ozen, Central, WOS for the last few years have had a sprinter or two make it to regionals and even to state. I know last year Celestine from Ozen made it to state and Thomas from WOS finished 3rd at Regionals. Whats the status of Hall from Central....

I'll tell you, with West Brooks beefed up schedule it will do 1 or 2 things. (1) Make them a better team weather they win or lose or (2) Break there confidence and ruin them before the district- season even begins... Coach Stump and his staff have their hands full, especially the defensive coordinator..

How did WOS look against OZEN?

Being a hometown boy, I would think they should get a local for the job. But knowing Lamar they'll go and get a coach from some division II college or maybe they'll try and get some assistant fomr a big school with no head coaching experience...

I'll tell you guys exactly what it is. Every parent wants for their kid to grow up and be "Like Mike". Parents now and days want for their kids to be the next great whatever... you cant blame them, but the problem is that every kid isn't a great athlete and the parents need to be able to understand that. You dont see the parent bcjag I bet money that the parents of the kids who were on the winning team didnt have anything negative to say about the coaches. Parents get so caught up in he hype from the adult world that they dont understand that the kids are just playing for the love of the game, just b/c it's fun. What happens in the long run when you have parents like this who are constantly pushing their kids to be the next superstar, even if that kid is a gifted athlete is that they began to lose that happiness and fun from the game, b/c it becomes to much of a job that just a past time. Parent's need to let the kids enjoy the sports that they particpate in and not ruin it for them by putting more emphasis on little leauge sport than there should be.

I would think that if he hasn't qualified academically, that he should be spending more time studying after school than working on his shooting. But hey what do I Know!!! Im just a former college athlete who graduated and knows how hard it is to qualify in order to participate as a true freshman....
