2. So does this mean he signed a scholarship to play or does this mean he signed to play there?
3. Ozen Girls Track Coach Sandra Jones has been blessed with many athletes since the school has opened, but for any program to win a district championship for 11 years running is pretty darn impressive.. I dont see it slacking down anytime time soon.. Brown is a Freshmen as well as Dominique Brannon (Sister of UT signee Alexus) Keep up the good work Panthers!!!!!!!!
4. April 15, 2010 A'Lexus wins 4A 'going away' Tom Halliburton The Port Arthur News BEAUMONT —  BEAUMONT -- A'Lexus Brannon invited a few Beaumonters to her 'going away' party Thursday at the running finals of the District 20-4A track and field championships.   What a terrific high school career the Ozen senior and Port Arthur native is continuing to have.   A'Lexus simply was so arrogant around the house for a couple of days that younger sister Dominique found it distasteful.   Dominique also wished A'Lexus had taken much more time getting out of the blocks in the 100-meter hurdles.   The nation's leader in two events guided Ozen's Lady Panthers to gold medals in all five of her events as the south Beaumont gang easily rolled to a girls team title with 219 points.   Central outpointed Nederland in the boys division 167-151 but coach Chris Theriot's Bulldogs delivered another dazzling performance in claiming gold medals in three individual running events.   This sunny, wind-swept occasion proved to be the finest hour ever for Nederland senior Aaron Arceneaux, whose junior track days were phenomenal in Mid- and South County, but his struggles have been many at the high school level.   Arceneaux kept persisting with the heart of champion and wore the biggest smile after toughing out a 22.64 to win the boys 100-meter dash.   A'Lexus Brannon even embraced Arceneaux after his heart-warming win which had followed a series of near-misses, disappointments and injuries.   "This is very special," the 18-year-old Arceneaux said. "That was nothing but God (pulling him through)... I was tired. All I could do was pray and He gave me the strength to go on. He just wanted to make sure that I was leaning on His word."   Arceneaux did not get out of the blocks especially well. He found himself chasing Lumberton's Kyler Keith and Beaumont Central's Keenan Holman around the curve. Then it was time for Arceneaux to summon the strength in the final 80 meters. It was there when well-meaning Aaron needed it.   Plenty of freshmen filled this day along with old-timers Aaron and A'Lexus. Ozen has an incredible 1-2 freshman punch in Bealoved Brown and Dominique Brannon. Nederland has another never-say-die distance man on the ninth-grade horizon named Layne Smith.   Besides finishing a hurdle behind her older sister, Dominique won the 300-meter hurdles and ran the anchor in the 1,600-meter relay. Dominique has added about three inches of height since last summer and she appeared to be a bit too high when clearing some of the hurdles. That's OK, though. She has plenty of time to work on her form and gain more strength to her 6-0 frame.   Form did not seem a problem for Brown, who totally blew away the field in both sprint races. The Ozen freshman ran the 100 in 12.07 and the 25.00.   The greatest catastrophe of the day for a freshman almost happened on the first lap of the boys mile when lanky Nederland rookie Smith came terribly close to losing his balance completely and landing on Alex Durley Stadium's extremely nice all-weather track.   Smith won the half-mile in 2:02.02 -- almost three seconds ahead of Dogs' teammate Kevin Molina. Smith looked out of gas early in the final lap but roared from behind to win the mile in 4:38.95 followed by teammates Trevor Martin (4:39.00) and Trent Fulk (4:40.93).   "I definitely wanted to be the district champion," the 15-year-old Smith said. "My teammates gave me a great race... I guess I just got a little tripped up on my own feet."   Another Nederland freshman champ in the half-mile, Bailey Perryman, delivered her season's most impressive work when it counted. Perryman found that extra gear in the home stretch for a 2:27.40.   Port Neches-Groves came painfully close to a gold medal in the intermediate hurdles. The thing which probably worked against senior Tyler Wright more than anything was his lane assignment. By running a prelim time of 42.27 on Monday, the Indians' hurdler had to operate out of lane 7. Central's Jacoby Hale overtook Tyler in just the last five meters to win, 40.17 to 40.61.   But the good thing about it is every event top three finishers will have another chance to compete May 3-4 at the 4A regionals in Huntsville. 5.
No offense, but what are you considering to be elite?  Is 51.30 or 50.99 elite? The 50.99 by Shawn Lewis is ranked 122 in the State 1A - 5A according to txrunning.com, and I promise you that doesn't include all meets and times.  So that is probably ranked more like 150.
Really if you want to get technical Kingwood Park isnt even in SETX... This isnt txrunning.com so we arent trying to compare times to txrunning... I think this is about SETX ranknings and those times do rank in SETX even though they arent ELITE 48's are 47's
6. Ozen- Shawn Lewis (50.99) prelim TSU Relays, Joseph Richards (51.30) Crosby
7. Beaumont Ozen (Girls) West Orange- Stark (Boys) Dont remember the total points, there was a discrepancy with the points between Port Arthur and WOS, but in the end WOS edged P.A...
8.

Is the kid from WOS who theyre talking about?
I assume so... or brannon from ozen. saw Franks run last week. STUD! I'm a little surprised they don't go to bigger meets to show their stuff. they've got great relays with Franks and Haynes and they'd get some FAT times that everyone would recognize.
FAT or HAND HELD its doesnt really matter.. the only real times that matter are the 2 it takes to get to AUSTIN.. (District & Regionals)  Both Brannon and the relays from WOS will show up when its time too..
9. added muscle for football shouldnt slow him down at all....
10. This is very simple go 4 wideouts and a TE, QB sneak from underneath the center.... ;) ;)
11.
Here are the meets I found on txrunning and texastrack. Friday March 5              Barbers Hill Saturday April 10           Ty Terrel – Lamar U Also, I have heard that most of the 4A schools in the area are wanting to host their meets on Thursday so that the baseball guys can attend.  Personally I hope this doesn't happen.  I'd hate to lose an extra day of training the whole season.  Once or twice wouldn't be too bad, but I would take a Fri/Sat meet over Thurs any day.
Yeah you have a good point running meets on a THUR takes away from your good training.. most teams should have four good workouts b4 a SAT Meet and 3 good workouts b4 a Fri meet..
12. Jags are showing some major class, looks like the Panthers are gonna do their talking with those RIDDELS'.. I know for a fact that RICKEY FRANCIS has been bringing that Helmet all year long just ask the QB's from Nederland and Vidor who were KNOCKED out of the games and I know for a fact that The QB from Lumberton was on his back more than a few times this past friday... I sure hope you jags know what your doing by making all of this poster board material
13. Hey all this talk about coffee is making me thirsty, I know I likes me a little hazelnut early in the morning, and sometimes even late at night, especially when its good and HOT!!! Panthers and Jaguars It Going DOWN like 4 flat tires on a FORD FOCUS....
14. I really think that the atmosphere friday night is going to be CRAZY.. Should be a packed house... ;)
15. I have one question for the Beaumont Enterprise... Why is it that the Orangeleader has not once mentioned WOS incident in the Paper and they represent the CITY of Orange, but the BEAUMONT ENTERPRISE has been POSTERIZING it all over the newspaper and internet as if it has something to do with BEAUMONT? This really pisses me off b/c its as if the ENTERPRISE is all about smearing kids around just like the INCIDENT with a High Profile High School Football player last year... I have really lost a lot of respect for the ENTERPRISE I always knew they couldnt write but now I know they have no class either... KUDOS to the Orangeleader for having CLASS! Its as if the Enterprise cant find enough Pro Athletes to go after... > >
16. The Panthers have tons of talent, always have... One thing that alot of folks downt know is that this entire team is mad of underclassmen give are Sr.'s who werent werent starters last yr... LB's Francis and Harmon are the only 2 returning starters from last yr.. The entire D-Line and Secondary is new.. On offense I think the running back Jackson is a Freshmen... This is a young Panther team who beat a Lumberton team which is full of Sr. who all played and many who started last yr and Lumberton is no way at a push over, Remember they started off the season I think (4-0) or (5-0)..
17. The Panthers are without a dought a better team than the previous few years, Coach Nelson and his staff are doing a heck of a job!!! So with the Panthers sitting right at (2-2) and looking at getting the ship back right over in the Pear Orchard is it simply luck or are they for real?
18. I've seen both teams play this year and it will be closer than most think.. Central has a running game like no other team in the district and that includes both LCM (Harmon) and the Kid from Livingston, as well as Vidor and their power game.. Central has a 3 Headed Monster in the back field and they each have speed to burn... However Ozen has a good running game and their passing game is starting to Jell... It turned on in the 2nd half against Lumberton the other night and its as if the Ozen coaching staff knows exactly what adjustments to make during the half b/c they shut a powerful Lumberton offense down the other night after it started out to look like it would be a blowout, the defense came out on fire... If Central stays one dimentional then it could be a long night it the Panthers passing game and running game get on the same page..... Panthers by 1TD and continue to upset all of the pre game predictions...
19. Stadium is on track on track to be completed on time. It looks good from what I could see the other night passing down Fannett Rd. 1 side of the upper deck is complete looks like its gonna be nice ;)
20. Livingston is gonna try and run it down their throats all night long, if PNG can stop the run they will win.. Im pulling for Livingston just so it can get real interesting with a loss in the column for the "Injuns"
21. If sub-varsity games tell anything about what tonite will look like, it looks as if the Panther Program has the momentum.. Weather doesnt look like it will play a factor b/c its beautiful outside right now...
22. Im taking Central in this one, but lets not take LCM lightley... Their offense is FOR REAL..
