This thread was dying until Brubaker put something like that on the forum.. The reason nobody, including me commented for awhile, is because no one really knew how to reply to something like that.. Dont tell dogs14 to stop with trash talk when Brubaker puts something like that on here and questions why they didnt play enough.. Long story made short on that issue, they are better off in football, just like scapegoat said

[/quote]   Something some of yall might have no clue about is how poor Nederland advertises for their coaching jobs. This Summers Coaching Job Market listed only 2 jobs, Head Softball Coach & Linebacker coach. Last time I checked there were bout 4 more jobs to add to that list!  I tried asking who's encharge of posting and i didnt get an answer back (maybe cause the person encharge wouldnt want controversy if people found out)   Micah I give you credit for trying to proove your points through a politcally correct stand point with all this budget stuff and teaching kids comes first..I agree! You were a great RB for Nederland I think one of the best! But how I recall it going down was that Neumann disliked the idea of basketball split block and English had to go fight for it through the school board and admininstrations. So if spewing absolute crap solves nothing.......You just solved [b]NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember a couple of years ago when Coach Neumann came on the News and said he was considering leaving for the LaMargue job. Please, me and my dad both knew he wasnt gonna take that job. Moving from a pro dominate white school to a pro dominate black school in Houston, he couldnt handle those kids regardless of how highly everybody talks bout his coaching skills. He used scare tactics as a way to make the school district pay him more money to stay. If thats not a sign of a selfishness in Neumann,I dont what is!   What it all comes down to is that no matter what we say or post on the message board the School Board & Administrations are scared to stand up against him. In my opinion we shouldnt even have a mayor cause Neumann Practically owns and controls this town......Cause in the end we are all cut out faces on the pawns of Neumann's Chess board in the game that he is [b]WINNING[/b]!!!!!!!! Basketball isnt considered a primary sport to the AD of Nederland.. We dont get that many coaches.. I sure hope they get to hang another banner saying district champs ;)

The reasoning behind Walker's hire has been explained numerous times just read it. Gilchrest is a very experienced basketball assistant is he not?? I just don't think some on here are looking at the entire reasoning. They see Smith and think that he can just switch to boy's asst. and nothing else is effected. That's not the case. Two best players in the area are No Doubt: Smith (BMT.) and Prudhomme (HJ) Weisbrod and English from Nederland are pretty good and will make the list

Henderson was the coach, ex-Memorial.. a good number of their players played for Christian Life Academy  Josh Gray 6'0"(Christian Life-Texas A&M Verbal), Wannah Bell 6'8"(Lamar Cons), DJ Griggs 5'11"(Brazoport), Michael Carey 6'5"(Lamar Cons),Derail Green 6'6"(Klein Forest),Bridge Lavey 6'5"(Atascocita),Marvin Saunders 6'5"(Kinkaid),Joseph Burton 6'5"(Christian Life),and few more......if you still don't believe us go ask Henderson?

Played very well in Houston tournament. 6'4 or 6'5 and can shoot the 3 pretty well. Plays good team defense. Should be a solid player next to sophemore post on varsity

5 players from Nederland where there and only one will see minutes on Varsity.. :D Dont judge Nederland's talent by that at all.. one more player that will see minutes on varsity showed up for there game against Beaumont Select and only lost by 3.. True varsity has been playing in tourneys outside of setx all week Central won the tournament over Memorial by about 8.. Fun tournament and really nice gyms and facilities ;) Haven't been to Silsbee's gym until today

We only lost by 1 though and really turned peoples heads who thought it was going to be a blowout. Played hard and motivated to win but came up a little short..

We played well against the first team, Houston Select, but just got out shot towards the end. That team had to have made 15 3's. Greg Wise of Jack Yates was their coach and you know he isnt going to coach a team that doesnt have a chance to win every game ;) The second team was Oklahoma Shock and we matched-up much better against them. Huge game today at 7:30 against Franchize Allstars. They played in the game right after us and you should have seen the scouts watching those players :o Expecting the same turn-out of D1 coaches

Talent level at that tournament was amazing! Tons of Scouts! Great exposure and game-time experience for them ;)

Great group coming next year and will be ready to roll come time for district ;) As far as the hand shaking part... BMTJags, I witnessed the classless act of those players being told to leave the gym and NOT shake hands.. Coach just got his kids back on the bus and left..You must have missed one district game cause you dont seem to remember that.. Last year group was great and is the best group to EVER come through Nederland, but to say it will be the best he will ever coach is just plain silly :D :D [u]Ever [/u]is a LONG time

[/quote]Your information is inaccurate.  English's Vidor Pirates made the playoffs once, maybe twice.  They didn't make the playoffs 3 times.  I've just told you that Vidor Beat Ozen twice that year, so why even repeat it?  The lopsided victory shows you that there is talent at Central to beat a English coached team.  I'm not trying to discredit English.  I think he is a good coach.  I'm just informing you that Coach English knows who we are and know  he will have a battle when he plays Central.  I'm sure he don't think his team is all world beaters like you seem to think.
