1. GOAT, its great to see you supporting your team but Yates would beat Memorial pretty badly. I have seen Memorial play a few times this year and they are really good and have alot of talent. I also saw Yates play on TV and I will tell you that No One can run with Yates. Yates forces turnovers with the press and makes a living off it. Athletic talent and shooters on the whole team. Yates would win by 40+ Memorial is good but be reasonable..

Who woulda thunk they would be tied for 1st place?
You mean, "who besides Coach English would have thunk it?"  ;) I don't think anyone could question that grade, though.
Im not going to argue it but that isn't quite my grade for them. They played a pretty tough non-district schedule, but they lost several games they shouldn't have. Plus the Central game they played very subpar. But in district they have been great so overall I give them an A-. But they are very close to being A+. Get a couple playoff wins and that will leave no doubt!!!
Great start in District. I thought Big Ned had potential to be good but needed more varsity experience. So far, That hasn't been the case. Hope they can win tommorow at Ozen and take the driver seat in the district.

 4. Dionte Forney and Coach English. Build a team around a big man then everybody else becomes better. And Coach English is a smart guy when it comes to basketball and he is good with his players. I guess im biased cause im from Nederland but oh well.
 5. who looked good for us?
 6. It also drives coach crazy when Dionte decides to become the "point guard" and take it all the way up the court then make a stupid turnover.

So let Houston Yates get their national glory this year and move on.
he might as well have said "we're going to run up the score every game, but since we're letting you know before hand, it's not poor sportsmanship"
Exactly, so if I walk up to you and tell you I am going to punch you and knock all your teeth out, it's okay when I actually do it. Stating that you are going to do something doesn't just automatically make it okay for you to do it. I know I am comparing a criminal act to basketball and they are on very different scales, but the principal is definitely the same.
Their goal is to score the most points. I feel bad for the teams on their schedule that have to go through with it. But if you dont want that to happen, gameplan against it. Yates has certain goals for the year, just like every team. Most teams set goals to win district or state championships. Yates has set higher goals than that, like record breaking scores.

I was just trying to say politely that 19-4A is weak and Brenham sucks. Thats all...
Ya, Brenham is horrible huh?  9 players on that list, 50 playoff appearances, 37 district championships, 14 state appearances and 6 State Titles....."The baseball capital of Texas".    Ya, I guess if that resume makes you suck, then I guess your right....
Not saying Brenham isnt great but I believe "Baseball Capital of Texas" is in Corpus Christi.  ;)
 9. Messed up to you AAW but that team is on a mission to break the scoring record. If they want to get 100, they are going to do everything possible to get it. Fouling to get the ball back to score alot isnt anything I agree with in a team, but Yates had a gameplan to score triple digits and Westbury had a gameplan to not let them do that. I dont think anybody, especially Bluedove, likes to see that kind of play but at least he understands their mission this year.

Nederland is a good shooting team and I was impressed with them. No doubt Nederland is the best team in the district right now.
Really?  I believe there are 2 Beaumont Teams that would think otherwise.  One of them is in 1st place and the other one blew Nederland out in Nederland...
Are you talking about that one beaumont team that lost to Nederland?  ;)

Texas just needs to regroup and come back strong next game. Much better basketball team than this.
agreed.  if they'd played halfway decent this would be another win for them against a top-10 team.  as it is, they've been flirting with a loss for awhile now, and if they had to have one, i'd just as soon it be against a top-10 team on the road.  this won't hurt their chances at a #1 seed in march.
March is when it matters. Alot of potential for the horns this year. I hope they get to play KSU again after the fans started chanting "We own Texas"

 16. This just an awful game by Texas. Looking flat and careless the whole game. This is why they are losing.

Not saying they can't, but the teams predicted ahead of them are better.

He will play both ways and should have a great season.
I agree about Sonnier, but I also believe Jake Kemp will do great things as well  ;)
Forney is the key guy for Nederland next year. Sonnier and Kemp are going to play big roles next season though.
 20.
Cunn has to be our MVP this far through the season. I know Forney is great but we expect constant performances from him. Cunn has came in with no varsity experience and stepped up huge in countless games and did it again last night. Great win to stay atop the district!
Cunn is looking like newcomer of the year so far in the district. Coach English has to be pleased with his great start in district. Good to see the Dogs getting the win on the road.

We will see what happens on the field this year.
Amen.  Both teams return lots of talent and are favorites in the region, every year.  LCM, I believe is playing in the Brenham tournament this year,  are their any other teams from yalls area that will be there?  I like to get a preview of what we will see in the playoffs.  Keep an eye on Brenham SS, Drake Roberts.  This kid is only a junior but has been committed to Arkansas since his freshman year.  He has had offers to just about anywhere he wants to go.  Prolly the third best player I've watched at the high school level, behind only Slade Heathcott (Texas High 08'-09', also the first round pick of the Yankees) and Jon Peters (Brenham pitcher in the late 80's and also first high school athlelete to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated.)
That Drake Roberts was solid last year. Hard to believe he is only a junior. Great baseball player. That Slade Heathcott is one the best high school players i have seen. Pitch and hits at top level. Nederland and Brenham will be top ranked in the state too.
 22.
I know they have a real shot at the district crown this year, dont count them out this year.  Have a real good returning squad, actually the whole starting squad is returning.  So, I would beware of the upcoming talent on that squad for this year.
::)  I have made a few stupid posts before but this is funny. Nederland and PNG wont lose to Ozen. So there goes the district crown idea.
