  1. I think Aledo out of 8 4A finished 3rd 2 years in a row and played in the state game. I know of 1 year for sure....
  2. You from Barbies hill keep talking about Sterling. They did win their district but y'all keep forgetting that Central did play 2 5A teams and had a split. Actually they played 3 if you count the scrimmages while the Hill got waxed by West Orange. Now you tell me, who's really blowing smoke....
  3. Funny thing, Central use to play Northshore when they were 5A but not this set of Jags..... Also, don't think for a second you salt domers have the market cornered when it comes to laying big hits. Central historically has been a hard hitting team and this years addition is no exception......
  4. I've been trying to carry the Central banner Soulja. Same ol Hill we at SFA use to keep in our hip pockets........
  5. Montgomery, Brenham, Caney Creek. Waller was 3-4
  6. The statement should've been, "I've been on several sports message boards" implying not just this but others which this topic about discipline players and all
  7. Let me see if I can address all of your points: 1. BH is competative. They do damn well for the talent level and of course I have personal experience with the Hill and as being a moron, well stupid is as stupid does..... 2. Numbers are irrelevent for a 1 school town. Quality coaching will maximize the talent base in the area. I wish someone would maximize the talent in PA but that's another talk show. 3. No, I don't think BH has the UIL on speed dail. They just can't read a map. They did the same thing to Anahauc the last 2 years they were in 3A making them go east when they had a district much closer. Maybe they UIL will learn to read a map next time The drug store cotton comparison well let's see. Huffman is having a 4A hangover, FB hasn't been the same since Homes left to GBall, GP is just now becoming more consistant, of course Crosby and C. E. King are the most consistant from 21 4A. Dayton would've made the district stronger but they were but in 22 which made this district even stronger. Smiley---well haven't done anything since the 80's. NC has been anything since Adam Dunn left..... So that's where I get the cotton soft comparison I've been on these message boards for some time now and it's always implied or said outright that majority Black schools are just a rouge bunch that I guess just do their own thing night in night out. I hate that. If there were that bad, School in densely population areas such as Maine and Vermont wouldn't go to the Hood looking for the next big thing. So yes I get sideways when I see those type of comments but there's nothing I can do about that. I will say that often Urban schools tend to underachieve but I think it's because it's hard to get and keep quality coaches. For example, just in the last 5 years Central has had 3 coaches, 2 good ones and 1 well they went 1-9. Stowers' contract is up in the spring and I hope he stays but you can't blame him for leaving. If there's a 1 school town or a better opportunity out there, I can't be mad if he leaves.....
  8. One school towns should at least be able to compete year in and year out. A good coach would have his schemes all the way down to the 7th grade so by the time they get to the high school, it's just a pearing down process to get the best 22 on the field....
  9. Walller didn't make it either......
  10. He was the DC @Harker Heights. His OC came from Arlington Lamar
  11. No, the Hill is a collection of small towns and no one wants to say it but 21 4A is drug store cotton soft. Until Forest Brook returns to their former selves(which I doubt) the Hill will continue to feast on mediocre programs unless C. E. King improves but anyway, you in the Hill get on your knees and thank the Lord the UIL can't read a map, otherwise those Broncos would've laid a horse in ya..... As for Central, like most multi school districts, they compete for athletes, under constant pressure from the district to raise test scores etc, but Stowers has come end with a program and a work ethic and turn that program into a constant winner. It's just not fast, talented kids running around being 'undicipline' as some people like to say, but Stowers and Co play a smash mouth variety of football and they will bring the hat on defense. As he said last year with tears in his eyes after beating Ozen, everybody told him not to take the job. Instead he comes to Old Town and they go from 1-9 to district champs....... As another poster loves to say, "Here comes that Maroon and Silver bullet".... Central 49-14
  12. Humble. Started 6-0 and lost 3 out of 5 or something like that
  13. Purple Pride I understand you may dislike those Jags but please respect them. This is the same BH team that lost to little ol Kirbyville last year. They play in a soft district and played a soft non district schedule.....
  14. Schools with the highest enrollment go Div 1 no matter the overall record
  15. Well this addition of those Jags are just as fast plus they bring that hat....
  16. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I don't remember him but that's the team that beat a wounded Odell James in the first round in Beaumont....
  17. 2 rounds at the most. Defense still wins championships
  18. I can't recall a M. Young playing for Central. I'd have to ask my North End historian on that 1
  19. All that means is the View is still sorry like there were every year in 4A except when that hog found an acorn in '91.......
  20. Is the Jr College comment an insult or a compliment????? Williams is a commit to A&M and a good student from what I hear. Coach Stowers was last year's COY for nothing. He will have those Jags ready to romp
  21. Dena Memorial held a stout NS team to 20 points while NS ran through the district(again). WB better have their stuff together or it will be PM's first playoff win in their short history
  22. Imma go with GP only because it's Nederland. Football wise, the run the option and Ned's soft against the run....
  23. Wasn't me. I was on the telling end of a 21-0 buttwhipping of the hill. That was the class of '86 with Brian Hall and that bunch. Everynow and then a hog finds an acorn but I promise you, y'all haven't faced anything like the Central Jags.... Coach is from Harker Heights and is pretty stout against shot gun teams. Yes the kids have had lapses when they either lost to teams based on reputation or let inferior teams hang around. Coach will have his boys focus for the Hill
  24. All Central all the time. 42-10
