It's obvious sfa85 doesn't agree with ya coop. I am much older than most on here but Sfa85 was a STUD in high school and still is. The man still works out and I will line up behind him if the stuff breaks out. Ha SFA85 you are the man brutha. ;D SFA 85 and Gasilla have freaking arms that are bigger than my legs. 8) I was 189 lb RT and something less than a stud in HS. Greg Moore exposed my weakness in blocking against the split 6 defense. Alot of scar tissue and fat over the muscle in the last 27 years lol Yeah yeah yeah. You know TA you agree with me after watching the tape and critism coming from someone that didn't know his QB of a couple years back was left handed lol, doesn't move me much. I know what my sig says. It says in effect, post about Nederland players on BigNed.com if you can't stand a little critisism lol

It's obvious sfa85 doesn't agree with ya coop. Just an observation. I want to say the times when the defender was pinned to the ground, that may draw a holding flag from the refs but hey that's just me. Once the defender got into his chest, that may lead to a sack. Remember, he plays guard, not tackle. Maybe Nuemann the Great should move him to RT to protect his QB's back(he's a lefty right?)

Memorial's Spring Practice....VIDEO!
SFA85 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
My little cousin(he's 6-1 2 something) and Paul 'Nederland' Roy Jr. looked good but you know me: I hate the offense(going more to a 2-back system but still in shot-gun) and that 3-3-5 has 'skirt' written all over it. When they play that College team on Wallisville Rd.(NorthShore), they'll find out about trying to run Nickle against a down hill running team if Suggs and Nimitz don't expose them in predistrict. Running-smashmouth teams will continue to blow PAM away and the finess teams they will beat on athleticism alone. That bunch flat out can't coach except my old buddy, Joe Smith, who of course is an old Eagle coach and currently coaches the RB's.... -
3 Observations: 1: the kid with the Purple shirt and red socks gave him fits 2: he can't handle a bull rush 3: shorts and t-shirts don't indicate effectiveness in pads 3.5: all the defenders with stretched or torn shirts indicates holding The last camp wonder from Nederlan didn't even make all district first team and was a part of that 63-0 arse beating of Biblical proportions. I wonder how many pancakes he got in that loss???

So... is it a gimmick or is it here to stay??? I like all kinds of offenses. With many teams (like dayton) ... I think the spread suits their personnel well. We rarely have a huge O-line and rb's, so whats the sense in going all out smash mouth? Teams can run out of the I-formation with a TE which Lumberton just switched back to and look at the results. I don't think they ever had a RB over 1000 yards let alone 1600 plus. The Spread is personnel dependent where the more traditional offensive schemes are not. Also, PAM's running a gimmick D---3-3-5 doesn't work on NCAA '08 and it doesn't work in real life. To watch a slow team skill person wise in Kingwood just run up and down the field on PAM is sickening. But just ask a Baytown Lee fan about the Spread and their swiss chees defense going on 10 years now....

I agree with most the bolded statements, but look at all the success of the numerous state champions that run the spread as well as successful NCAA teams that run it. Also, I don't think the choice of offense has that much bearing on what the defense does... good example, Dayton.... Personnel and coaching has more to do with it IMO I hear ya but more than not, a Spread O makes a soft D. Even SLC defenses gave up yards and points. The problem with 90% of the teams they played couldn't stop them. WO-S and LM had salty defenses eventhough they were/are spread teams but they're the exception rather than the rule. Schnellenberger knoes his football. I know he's a dinosour, but he knows his football....

Another football season approaches, but the same ole garbage emminates from the so-called Spread O guru which is Ronnie the Great. Here's what a true great Hall of Fame coach thinks about the Spread O.... From Boob West column today 11May08: Don’t think I’ve ever had a better telephone interview that the one with Florida Atlantic’s Howard Schnellenberger last week. I was hoping for five or 10 minutes of discussion on what it’s like to start a football program from scratch and wound up getting 55. What I really enjoyed was that he’s not political, that he just comes out and says what he thinks. Like, for instance, he can’t understand why schools able to recruit the way Texas, Michigan and Alabama can are fooling around running spread offenses. Beyond not liking the offensive philosophy, he said it’s difficult to develop defensive toughness practicing against the spread..... I wonder if Boob West would relay this information to his buddy RTG....

UIL Drafts Proposal To Spilt Football Conferences
SFA85 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It wont work because Central has a high enrollment than the Triangle schools... They are all in D2. But at least put them with the houston schools... We have Livingston this year without that alignment, so there is really no difference. Every year there is some school in some district traveling so that is not the biggest disadvantage. I kind of like this idea! Yeah but Smiley/FB is bigger than Central. At least move Central closer to the Triangle if not a straight flip/flop -

Smiley/Forest Brook combo is a done deal so put them in division 1 and swap places with Central and get them back in the Golden Triangle -
Who Makes The Top 4 In 20 4A This Season?
SFA85 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
They're switching offenses again and yes, Spikes will be the qb for now and Charlie will be @safety. You heard it here first.... -
In accending order: '94 Eagles. Chad Johnson and Co. undefeated regular season '86 Eagles. Ken Ford, John Evans lost to Staight and Cuero(sp)in the semis and last but not least.... Us in '83. Beat #2 Navasota, beat H-F twice. Lost in the semis to Sweeny on penetrations 3-1.....

If the Smiley coaching staff take over the whole NF football program, look out 19 4A.......

Well if I'm off for PAM's spring game, I'll make a decision on how many games I'll attend this year let alone the game with TW. I need to see an exponential growth in PAM's toughness. Also, I need to see some kind of short yardage offense. If I don't see any evidence of improvement from either front, I'm not going to sit through another 4-6 season watching PAM get pushed around for 4 quarters.

The game will be in the Woodlands. It will be the first game played in Woodforest Stadium the new home field for The Woodlands, College Park, and Oak Ridge. Well I hope it has easy access off I-45. Sounds like it will be somewhere around the Research/Woodlands Pravilion(sp) exits....

We suppose to have a major unit shutdown in September but if it's in town, I'll go. Moorehead is a nice hike even if I happen to be in Houston at the time....

UT Impresses Silsbee's Jeremy Johnson
SFA85 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Played against his father since the 8th grade and we only beat Buna(as a class) once. He was shut down when we were Jrs.(McZeal senior year) but ran over us again the next year but we only lost by a touchdown. Based on his son's stats, however, he should be a preseason All-Stater/All-American if a certain DE/LB from MC can get the same recognition with less impressive stats...... -
People thought the same of Katy. KISD went from 3-6 schools since 2000. Anyway, as long as PAM is soft on D, and TW or Conroe McCollough(in my day) runs the pill, PAM will go down hard.....

92 G's per eh? I know this, he'd better come up with a more sound defensive coach/scheme/players to back up that salary. Being near the bottom in defense as of late doesn't justify the pay. Now y'all have a coach salary wise in the top 15 or so of all Texas coaches....

They lost to Calallen but that coach is @PV now....

MHS getting a new scoreboard
SFA85 replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Instead of bitching from afar, be grateful in the fact of positive news coming out of PA. Also, if you want further change, there's an election coming up which it's a referendum on the old vs. the new in that 2 of the 4 candidates running for the 2 at large seats are in their early 30's. Of course, you can choose between the Traveling Trustee(yes she has the gall to run again) and another old lady. Nothing against the elderly but old people don't buy homes, produce kids, and pay the bulk of taxes: all which are vital to PAISD's continuing improvement across the board. I'm also touched to see a TJ grad's final wish was to help the district pay for the new scoreboard so as long as the board is moving forward and the negative press in the district continues to drop, the better PA will be in the short and long term -
The Hill is about to get flattened big time......

Counting Lincoln, 0-4.... My bad. I was thinking he was only at Lincoln for one year, then Central for 1 or 2. If you say four (total here in the triangle), then I believe you. I know better than to question your knowledge of this stuff, '85. I stand corrected. 1 with Lincoln, 2 with Central. Combined score 175-15.... ....and what did Super Suggs do with those teams that put such bad whippings on Nederland????....Nothing! A couple rounds deep into the playoffs and that's it, which I have been told stinks. LM is not going to compare Suggs' and Neumann's head-to-head records. They will look at their records of the teams they coached and what they were able to do with the talent at hand. Neumann wins that one hands down. That last team Suggs had @Central put 20 on y'all @home and went to the 3rd round which is 1 less than Nuemann. Besides, he's an old LM assistant and I bet he has just as good a record overall as Nuemann plus more district titles, recruits, etc. And they should compare head to head being that he and St. Nuemann are the finalist. Suggs has another little nugget under his belt: He took 3 different teams to the playoffs 3 years in a row. Nuemann can't match that one
