  1. I do not think 8 years covers a generation.
  2. Gotcha. That is what I figured. I was just wondering if maybe he heard the same rumors I have heard.
  3. There will be a huge amount of people coming into the area. Between Motiva, Total, and Valero you have the potential for over 10,000 jobs going at once. Not to mention the LNG plants and the Degassification (sp?) plant in BMT. I also do not see it happening. It was just a thought. Patitan, when you say kids will come back when the new high school is built, do you mean they will move back into PAISD or the school district lines will change? I have heard rumors, and they are only rumors, that PAISD is going to try and incorporate all the area within HWY 365 and Twin City HWY. I do not see that happening. That would include changing some areas of PNGISD and NISD to PAISD. I am not sure that can be done legally without a court order?
  4. I am pretty sure I am in for JC.
  5. No, if you read the post I outlined why.
  6. I did not think it was likely. But considering their size and the prospects for growth I figured it was possible.
  7. Just curious what some of you think? Here are some of the reasons I think it could happen, but it is not likely. 1. The amount of expansion coming to this area with the local refineries. The people coming in for these jobs will have to live somewhere. if you think local people will fill all these jobs think again. We do not have enough qualified people, or enough people who want to be qualified to man the expansions at Motiva, Valero, and Total. 2. Port Neches and Groves are both pretty much land locked. Nederland still has plenty of land that can be developed like what is happening out at the airport. I am not sure how close Nederland is to the cutoff, but it was something that crossed my mind that could happen in the next 4 years or so.
  8. This is where Lumberton's magic carpet ride ends. They will not beat Central, Ned, and PN-G. Maybe one of them, but not all and unless Central just plays sloppy football (which could happen) than it will not be Central.
  9. I hope your line can block because Bellows is going to be on his butt a lot. Ned has no running game and PN-G front 8 can bring the heat. I look for a close game with PN-G pulling out a win.
  10. I could play if it is at 4:00 (JC). UT vs Neb is at 11:30. So I will either be too depressed to play, or in the mood depending on the outcome. I do not bring any speed to the table, but I can still catch and throw or block if that is what is needed.
  11. play-ball...it worked real good. Keep up the good work on defense. You need to petition for Wright to stay at TB. Tezeno can stick to Defense and play WR with a few carries at TB.
  12. Those stats have to be wrong unless I am missing something. From the PANews........ Like quarterback Harrison Tatum, who rebounded from a tough game last week against Ozen, and several dropped passes early, to hook up with Brett Doty on a beautifully thrown 46-yard TD bomb in the third quarter. Also on Hemmings’ resume was a 52-yard ramble after taking a short pass from Tatum. That eye-opener, in the final minute of the first half, set up his two-yard TD run which opened a 21-6 lead at the break. Hemmings also got loose on a 44-yard run in the third quarter that paved the way for Wright’s TD. That is 98 yards on two passes. I was at the game, I can assure you the other three passes did not go for -25 yards.
  13. The passing stats would have been way better if not for 5 dropped passes. Also, there should be more yards than that. 46 yards came on a td pass, and Hemmings had a long reception for around 30 to 40 yards.
  14. Where are all you mid-county haters now. Don't make me call you out with your laundry list of excuses. ;D
  15. Just curious. I did not think it was a season ending injury or was it? How is the young QB doing?

  17. If PN-G can stop shooting themselves in the foot with false start penalties and turnovers they can win. If not, they lose. LC-M might be better than Ozen so I will say PN-G 21 LCM 20 if we play a good game. If we play offense like last week I say LC-M 28 PN-G 14.
  18. O-line is fine. Passing game has no imagination. 75% of the passes we throw are the sideline go route. We do not have the speed or athletes to do that. We need some deception and crossing routes.
  19. What amazes me is Ozen had a TD run of 60 to 65 yards. Take that away and they ran for roughly 35 yards on 43 carries. That is below 1 yard per carry. Besides the long run and long TD pass Ozen's offense did not do squat.
  20. WE lost 3 fumbles not two. Sad. Tezeno, Wright, and Miller when he tried to catch a punt and dropped it. 3 int by Ozen. I would say Ozen got just as many gifts as PN-G. I was more impressed with their secondary than their D-Line. Both were good though.
  21. 6 Turnovers and two non / blocked / whatever punts by PN-G. Ozen probably had the same. PN-G's DC called a good game except on 3rd and 25 rushing 8 and having his 2nd team CB trying to cover the Ozen wideout one on one. A little stutter step and it was all over for a 65 yar TD. Very sloppy game. PN-G had probably 8 false starts. No excuse for that. Refs must have been counting the squares on the Montagne Center when Ozen killed our PAT holder after the ball was gone. Other than that it was a good hard hitting game. Both sides had some big hits.
  22. Here is the rest of the article........ "He has to orchestrate who's got whom," Burnett analyzed. "We work pretty good together. We both get pretty riled up. Sometimes I have to get him calmed down and sometimes he calms me down. But he's a great young man and I anticipate him being very successful." That's in football as well as life. Doty had 11 tackles in the season opener against La Marque. The speedy La Marque passing game and its skilled quarterback Jairus Kerlegan seldom succeeded at getting behind Brett. Doty won the extremely demanding chore of keeping La Marque in front of him. Very few free safety guys in the entire state could have done it any better. Doty collected a fumble, an interception and six tackles in a 43-0 win at Silsbee, after missing a good portion of the Crosby game due to cramps. The Indians' trainers have made certain that Brett drinks enough water to keep himself properly hydrated after that hot night. Part of the problem with keeping Brett hydrated simply is this. He never comes off the field enough. The hardest answer for Brett to give during this interview involved the matter of which platoon that he liked best -- offense or defense. "That's a tough question," he said. "I've been playing more defense and I like to make tackles but I like catching balls, too." When Doty finishes football, he hopes to become a doctor. He watched a heart surgeon perform a triple bypass during a field trip last year to Houston's M.D. Anderson Hospital. He hopes to begin pre-med studies next fall either at the University of Texas or Texas State University. "I've wanted to become a doctor since I was little," he said. "The idea of helping someone is amazing." Leading at PN-G -- on and off the field -- seems quite cut out for a winner like Brett. Indian Inklings Kenneth Tezeno was a domineering pass thief as a junior but it's a different story so far as a senior. Five different PN-G pass defenders (including Tezeno) share the team lead in interceptions with one apiece. The other four are Brett Doty, Tyler Gizzi, Benjamin Lancaster, and Drew Barnett.... PN-G's tackle chart credited five players with having a hand in "caused fumbles" against Silsbee. They were Clint Burnett, Randy Collida, Justin Pierson, Zeke Schexneider, and Chris Schexnider. The fumble recoveries at Silsbee belonged to Doty, Tezeno and Austin Miller.... That Silsbee score (43-0) marks the first shutout at PN-G for new defensive coordinator Carl Broussard, who has brought in an effective traditional McNeese-style defensive scheme after serving in the same capacity at Hamshire-Fannett.... Injury list at Silsbee added two key names. Senior offensive lineman Caleb Wallace sustained a knee sprain in the first half. Junior tight end Aaron Shetley broke a foot in the first quarter. The open week permitted a few other nagging injuries some valuable time. Junior Dillon Harrison likely will start at right guard for Wallace. Seniors Zeke Schexneider and Clint Burnett will take up the slack for Shetley at tight end.
  23. Not quite as low tier as PAM I would guess. PN-G in a close one by 3. What will patitan and sfa85 have to use as an excuse if PN-G wins? I am expecting a close game that could go either way with PN-G getting the 3 point advantage due to my bias.
  24. I am not going to get long winded but, patitan, sfa85......what happened????? Could it be the MC schools might be better than PAM. Didn't Houston Lamar LOSE to Brenham (the team with so many weaknesses Ned beat them). Oh, I guess it was an off night for PAM and Lamar played the game of their life.
