Ned vs. PAM for championship of the Golden Triangle.
i fixed it.  ;)
Don't kid yourself. Everyone knows neither team can get past Vidor. They play for National Championships and leave the state stuff to the rest of us scrubs.

Take this crap to a Houston area board. ;)

I'm pretty new to Texas HS football. Came across this board during the '10 season when I was trying to figure out whether my kids' HS team, which seemed to be doing pretty well, was for real or not. I've posted a little but read quite a bit on here since then. Been reading and posting on a few other boards since then as well, but the shear volume of postings here is just amazing, even more so given the relatively small geo footprint for SE TX. You guys always post more than on any other board, even state-wide ones. And the postings have a great combination of insights, trash talking, homerism (is that a word?) and - compared to some other boards - humility and good sportsmanship when one's team looses. So, even being out of the official SE TX / Golden Triangle area, I keep coming back here to see what's going on and what people think about SE TX.. All that said . . . AIN'T NO WAAAAYYYYYYYY PAM IS GOING TO BEAT MANVEL if they do meet up in the playoffs!!!!!!! ;D La Porte / Manvel - now that could be a game for the ages, but I'll still favor the Mavericks. Oh . . . and, ah, Hoka Hey!
Thanks for the kind words and all folks, regardless of geography are always welcome.
Surely you saw the wink  ;) i attached.
 4. Take this crap to a Houston area board. ;)
 5. I dont know abut food but the best concession stand itself is on PN-G's homeside. At least 8 windows, all staffed, multiple 42" TV's broadcasting the game live as you wait. Big selection of food with drinks and snack booths set up outside the waiting line if you just need to pick up something small and quick. Even at halftime the lines move quickly.

I have a sneaking feeling my beloved Indians could struggle some this year out the gate so I have to sharpen my arrows for all the talk that is going to transpire. Hell we can go 10-0 before the playoffs and people will run their mouth so a 6-4 type season is going to bring all the haters out of the closet. I have to be prepared.  ;D

 9.
PNG will lose to Summer Creek...so thats at least 1 lost on their schedule ::)
Summer Creek does have a very good QB. Outside of him I am not sure what they have. I am not sure that equals a "lost" though.  :D
 10.

Summer Creek went 9-2 last year. 6-1 in district. Wins: Pasadena Rayburn, Magnolia, South Houston, Huntsville, Kingwood Park, Willis, New Caney, Caney Creek, Porter, Humble. Loss: Willis, Magnolia West (Bi-District)
At least 6 out of 9 wins a good not excellent but good avg. 3A school would have won as well.  Not including Kingwood Park because after all they did knock Brenham out the playoffs in 2010. ;D ;D
Naw, the only weak teams we played last year was Sam Rayburn, Porter, Caney Creek,New Caney and Magnolia wasnt the best....The rest were hard teams for us. plus we were and still are very young :P
So 5 of 9 wins were against admitted weak teams? Congrats.
 11. As a PNG fan I know Nederland is the clear favorite to win district. After that the remaining three teams will be a crapshoot. Just for giggles. 2. PN-G 3. Vidor 4. Livingston / Ozen PN-G will only be as successful as the QB play allows them to be. They have plenty of size and skill players but I was told that AJ has issues "throwing a catchable ball". If he develops some touch and accuracy he has plenty of arm strength to get the job done. I can say for a fact I speak with one of the smaller kids on the O-line pretty often and he is about 6'0" and in the 250 to 260 range.
 12. Ned fans what happened? I was playing tennis with my daughter and wife by the stadium and saw maybe 100 people there. Was that the pep rally?

The only people that deserve any type of explanation or anything else for that matter is the family of Matt Thomas. This thread should not have even started. Speculation and assumption are both beasts that run wild!! Rip Matt
Well said. I have to agree with you. Not sure this thread should have been started. Prayers to the family.
I get the point but it is in the local news and this is a discussion board and that is what people do. Again I have lost someone close to me way too early with no clear explanation and it was all over the news for weeks. It is tough to deal and hopefully his family can find som epeace.

You have no knowledge of this situation personally and are guessing based on your percieved experience. Hopefully you do not work for the JCSD because then I will know you are reaching. I have seen their work first hand.
Perceived experience? I wonder if you call a doctor, an operator at a chemical plant, a dentist or a brick layer with 28 years in the business as having perceived experience. If you go back to my first post in this thread you will see that have not guessed at anything except to tell you that someone with a 0.69 alcohol concentration is intoxicated. I never said slobbering falling down drunk and I never said it had anything to do with his death. Quite to the contrary, I stated that without witnesses, people would be speculating as to the cause. That is hardly drawing any conclusions from direct knowledge of the case.
Ok. Poor choice of words on my part. I would bet he has friends and family that read this board and making a definitive statement that he was intoxicated is irresposible.
There is no such thing as "legal limit" unless you are driving and even then it can be lower. That is a news media term and has no bearing on the law other than DWI and then it is the per se limit. I can assure you that if he was at that level, he was intoxicated. In fact people that are not used to drinking can be intoxicated as a much lower level.
Unless you know something personally I think you are reaching.
It comes from 28 years (and counting) on the streets in law enforcement and being involved in hundreds of intoxication arrests. In that includes almost as many years of operating the Intoxilyzer breath test instrument that measures those levels. You can call it reaching. I call it experience.
It is reaching. 17.
He was intoxicated.
Maybe I misread or do you know more? He was under the legal limit which at his size he would be drinking on average about 1.5 drink per hour. Hardly enough to consider intoxicated unless there is more to it. Maybe "buzzed" but buzzed people don't lay face first on train tracks and ignore a blowing train horn.
 18. I live right by some train tracks and I can assure you when the horn sounds it gets your attention. With all due respect I anticipated finding out the kid was heavily intoxicated after reading the reports of the train blasting the horn. Seeing he wasn't really intoxicated makes things look suspicious. I just hope his family can learn the truth. I have learned from personal experience not knowing why/how hurts just as much as the loss.

I would say more than 90 percent would love prayer at the games leaving 10 percent not liking it. I guess thats what our country has come too. LET MINORTY RULE  ... I think not !!!
Your logic is seriously flawed. Its got nothing to do with what percentage wants it vs. what percentage doesnt. If thats how you view this, you know nothing about America and our values. People that think this country was founded on God or Christianity, pick up a few history books. You sound ignorant. Side note to help you out: God was never originally in the Pledge of Allegiance. The pledge was modified in the 1950's to add "under God". And your next point will surely be about the phrase "In God We Trust." well guess what? That wasnt added to currency until the civil war. Now, praying at the games doesnt offend me or bother me at all. But what does offend me is when people try to warp our country's values around what they believe our country's values should be. Read up on our founding fathers and their whole entire reasoning for the revolution and why they set our government up the way they did.
You are wrong. Our founding fathers did not want to become a church state. That had nothing to with prayer at school, Christmas trees, crosses or any other thing that might "offend" someone. What is ironic is that by passing a law against it the "state" is not separated at all from the church. The First Amendment reads "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." I am currently reading "A Patriot's History of The United States" by Larry Schweikart. Try picking it up and educating yourself.
I have more education about the founding of our country in my pinky toe than you would believe. Laws must be made even with regard to issues that the state does not want to intervene on. Theres a time and place for church and its not friday night at the football stadium. Ill go to the CHURCH on sunday if i want to hear that. Id love to see what you people would do if a kid got up there and said a muslim prayer. But by your logic, that kid has just as much right. Or wait, does it have to be a Christian prayer? Cause clearly everyone else is wrong and 'this down hur is the south son and we beleeve in God and Jesus. This hur is whats wrong with tha wurld terday. Cant even go down to the walmarts without seeing those kids runnin aroun' actin a fool. If e'ryone went to church this world would be a better place.' The sad thing is, most of the evil in this world exists because people try to stuff their own religious beliefs down everyone elses throats. I've always thought that if religious people would stop worrying so dang much about what everyone else thinks, theyd be much happier people.
How about just a prayer? non-denominational. No in Jesus name. Just a prayer to a higher calling regardless if you believe in God, Allah, Budah, Unicorns, 6lb 8oz. baby Jesus. Whatever. What does that hurt? Where is the harm? Every prayer I heard back when peoples panties were not in a wad were simple prayers for players safety, safe trip home for fans, etc. Not come to my church or recognize my God or burn in Hell messages. So again where was the harm? Saying you got a bomb on a plane? Pretty ignorant. The two do not compare. Hell if half the drill teams in the area can go out at half time and dance like they are warming up for Dream Street later that night I don't see what a little prayer would hurt.

 21. This is what is wrong with our country. Too many idiots running around. If you do not like do not listen. Some of you should pick up a history book and learn a little about this great country and how it came to be. It damn sure wasn't because of people worrying about hurting the feelings of a few.  :'(
 22. Good luck in the next round. Your kicker is a huge weapon. The best I have seen in a long time.
 23. And congrats Nederland from an NDN fan.
 24.
Same old same old - poor sportsmanship abounds in 20-4A. The more things change the more they stay the same.
GTHO. 19-4A has been nothing but mouthy. 0 for 3 so far so all that talk has worked out well for you. Same song and dance. One and done.
 25. As is standard procedure this time of the year you will not find many 19-4A posters hanging around the board after the first round of the playoffs. They like to get mouthy but will run for the hills once reality hits.
