  1. FYI............we put academics first.  My kid is an A student in the National Honor Society.  He knows that he ONLY plays ball if his grades are good.  For us, select is not replacing school ball....it's an addition, therefore, if my child is being seen through school and select, he is getting more exposure.  Bottom line is, if select is not for you or your child, don't do it.
  2. My kid plays select because he can't get enough baseball.  League was never enough and the school season is not long enough. Select affords him the opportunity to play more ball, which improves his skills. It provides him extra exposure, I can't rely on his high school coach only. Lots of parents work busy schedules and cannot work hands on with their kids to better their skills & high school coaches work with the teams, not individuals.  Select is one more place a child can receive training, instruction and exposure.........how can there be anything wrong with that?  Select needs to be viewed as a tool to additional training and with any training/lessons there is a cost for the services.  The only effect on the high school team is that the team and coach have a kid on the team that has some extra experience. As a parent I have to provide my child all the opportunites I can.  I'm not wasting my money, I'm investing in my child and the only promises being made are by us, his parents.
  3. Bmtball you mentioned that you will begin your first summer as a 15-18 organization this upcoming year. I thought you had a 14 year old team as well. Am I mistaken?
  4. "the group that is running it"......I have viewed the website and can't find any information regarding who is involved. Would like to know this information before bringing my child out to the try-outs. BBDad, if you know names please share them or give me a contact to get more information.
  5. That is correct. Therefore, Chase is Ronnie's nephew.
  6. If your coming off a successful season, why are you looking to change the team? Do you anticipate loosing some players? Honestly, I know some interested people, but, they are interested based on what returning players you will have.
  7. How is this possible? I thought Little League was community based teams. How does that many schools feed into one league?
  8. Is this for 13/14 year olds also? If not, where and when is there a fall league for this age group?
  9. Again you don't have to get so defensive, this will be dropped by me because it is time for the real sport..... football which also starts in August. And you know shut up is such an ugly word as well as name calling. Peace "donkey" I'm sure you will cause trouble during the football season as well. Donkey? I think you have me confused with Ranger 83.
  10. Again it's not about the kids, they are a very talented bunch. It is about staying away from little league politics and having all teams/kids follow the same rules. If it's not about the kids, then move on. Address whatever problems you have regarding this situation with the coach, nations or whomever.
  11. I don't mean nothing is going to change regarding "politics." I mean the teams classification is not going to change at this point in the season. This team will be moved up next season, which starts in August. Will that make you happy and get you to shut up?
  12. Even if people know, as you say, what this all about......who cares!!! Nothing is going to change, especially this late in the season.
