  1. I was told by a friend at work that LCM's Eric Blem will be going as well
  2. alot of you guys keep talking about the dedicated 3rd teamers that play their hearts out and never get to play. and our right, its wrong. but the problem is, all these guys playing their hearts out arent doing what it takes to help themselves out. they arent in the weightroom every day. i know some of the starters are lazy, but i know a group of about 6 of them (most which are starting or second string bothways) that are in there every single day, and if you ask them, the 3rd team guys that play with alot of heart and do a great job making them better every day in practice aren't in the weightroom and thats why they don't get to play. heart makes up for talent, but work ethic can get you more athletic and help you play at a higher level. Most of the lazy starters that were just in it for themselves have quit, but there are still a few that need to get their act together. as for the jv players that quit and came back, most of the returning quitters re-quit. and the ones that haven't are showing much better dedication. A major problem at LCM is the rate of turnover in the coaching staff. It seems every year the staff clears out and is replaced. In fact 8 coaches are set to leave this year, 3 at the varsity level. I still reserve the hope that LCM will get its act together this year, and win or lose I'm still a faithful fan. In fact I went the watch the sub-varsity spring game last night and it was very interesting, with the white team winning 16-14.If you want a sneak peek I recomend checking out the varsity spring game May 22 at Battlin' Bear Stadium.
  3. I know that the players would like a little support, day in and day out they have to cringe at any reference to football because they know that the "crap" is comming. Its real hard to want to represent your school when your are being bashed on a daily, sometimes hourly basis. The only thing you can do is work as hard as you can for yourself and your teamates. Of course your friends won't understand that, and thats why they dont play.
  4. I remember Coach Pachuca as an assistant coach at LCM. He was a great guy and one of my favorite coaches. Good Luck
  5. okay, first off i dont think this guy is from LCM, but if he is, theres "nothing wrong with having faith in your team" but i would suggest you tone it down a bit. if you are a player, you dont need to be worried about all this, in fact you should prefer to be under the radar. and if you are a parent or student, the players really dont like it when you go and rant and rave about our program, we can be confident in ourselves without you yelling it to the entire world.
  6. who can explain to me how it works and how long it lasts?
  7. I'm glad to see no one believes in LCM, i think the more attention they have, the harder it is to succeed. they will struggle at times next year, but i always root for the underdog. that being said: Nederland PNG Ozen Livingston (don't know much about them) Central Lumberton/LCM Vidor
  8. heres the issue if your team has an obvious fumbling problem, you correct it you spend major time working drills to imporve ball handling from what i understand the skill players did not get hit in practice, i can understand wanting to avoid injuries, but when are they supposed to learn. if you are not going to hit them, at least have the whole scout defense try to swat or rip the ball out. EVERY PLAY. Heck if you work every drill in the book, and have the practice team ripping at the ball and that still doesnt fix it, you have the players carry a football around school all day, or run a lap everytime the fumble in practice. At ANY rate, you dont sit back and let a problem continue. a MAJOR one at that. PERIOD. And as for discipline, it is ridiculous when certain players are "babied" to the extent where they can start a fight amongst their teammates and say whatever they want during a game, and still be the first option on offense. Some of the things Some players where allowed to get away with would warrent suspension or possible expulsion from any team i would ever coach.
  9. hey Soulja, dont feel too bad about the Jags this season, it could have been worse, you could be a Bear fan! lol
  10. i dont understand the reasoning behind he being left off he was 1 vote away from first team last year and had a far better year this year not a knock against the players that made it, but viator was very deserving i honestly think he deserved first team, but he should have been at LEAST on second team
  11. i would like to see lcm win either way it will be a close one, i say it will be within 6 points at the most
  12. i see a 2 or 3 win team they will have alot less talent this year, but a softer non-district schedule, and maybe pull out a district win now i hope i am completely wrong and are suprisingly good, but for now, thats my verdict
  13. i think someone needs to edit their poll..
  14. well that post really wasnt in response, i wrote it as you were posting yours i know it begins to get to the point of "my brothers mothers bestfriends uncles grandma told me that her cats goldfish......." but a current student was told by one of the students that was thrown out, they were told that but of course thats just what i "heard"
  15. lcm had plenty of talent this year they just 1. didnt know HOW to win 2.didnt have very good leadership on the team or on the sideline
  16. HJ didnt even have any administrators show up to the game and the "signs" they brought with them lead me to assume they have very lax administratos at home if lcms were as lax, it would be almost impossible to play there. even with several fans getting kicked out for laughable offenses, the bear cave is always rockin. Now, overall i completely disagree with the actions the "principles" have taken they are really cracking down this year, although i hear they claim they have always been this strict. : yeah right. back in the 80's the student section had a cheer "KBRA" that was about a certain red bird that lives across the bridge. In fact about three years ago i went to a few games myself and witnessed some "props" that wouldnt even be allowed in the door this year. To my understanding, two of the students kicked out the other night were picked at random for participating in the "nuts and bolts" cheer. the other was kicked out for saying "you need these more than i do" and throwing his glasses at the official. That fan deserved to be tossed. The Jasper game two students were tossed for saying "your terrible" and saying "atta boy" to a jasper player. The one that said "atta boy" was told he could have "hurt his feelings" : Come on now! this kids are athletes, being a former one myself, i know they have a thicker skin than that. in fact, a little trash talking is only part of the game, anyone who doesnt belive that is fooling themselves. Ive heard there are several parents (other than those of the fans that got kicked out) that are angry with the actions the school has taken and to my knowledge the "administration" at LCM thinks that they are ignorant for saying that "kids will be kids, they need to have some fun and have a little longer leash" i dont really know the right answer, but kicking out fans for so little isnt it. in fact i think it just riles the kids up anymore and pushes them to defy the principles. I think they should back of a little and let things go, as long as they arent profaine, ratial, threatening, or too personal. but thats just MO
  17. i sure as heck hope LCM can pull this one out
  18. the football team may be a joke, but the program certainly isnt volleyball is in the second round of the playoffs baseball has only missed the playoffs like once in the last 16-17 years or so, they are looking to win their third straight district championship boys basketball went to the playoffs two years ago and are picked to make it again this year softball won the state championship two years ago last year Drew Bean won the state championship in Cross Country and got a gold in state at the 2 mile and i think a bronze at the 1 mile im pretty sure girls soccer and basketball made the playoffs last year tennis just won district and went to regionals golf won district last year (not that they are a sport) but band is going to state this year the program is not a joke
  19. how exactly do you know whether or not they condition? and have you been to any LCM games? conditioning is definately NOT the issue
