  1. I could care less, but I must say...AWESOME POST.  I now hate north shore and it's all because of you.
  2. I just looked at the playoff schedule.  Am I correct in saying that there are no games scheduled at Bronco Stadium.  Our lights are bright, our field is almost new, the home stands reach to the sky....I just don't get it.  This loss of revenue is going to set back that retractable roof that I was hoping for.
  3. If you think that the Dayton fans are overconfident, you should really read some of the posts from crosby and goose creek.  Dayton should be confident, they are the regions defending champs and expect to win every week.  They have handled business for over a decade (regardless of what district UIL places them in) and every year they simply reload and march back to the playoffs.  From what I've seen over the past few games, the defense is loaded for bear this year.
  4. What type of defense does vidor play?
  5. What's the word?  Any games scheduled for bronco stadium this weekend?
  6. Dayton has made some changes over the course of the season.  With their former running back now at linebacker, their front seven has speed, tenacity, and are becoming more and more disciplined.  I have definitely seen improvement in all facets of the game since the north forest game. I like the fact that they are still improving and have yet to peak.  I do wish that we would field more punts instead of letting the ball roll, but maybe there's a reason for that. The theme for this week against Vidor is a simple one, THE RUN IS DONE! Go Broncos!
  7. Dayton should win if they can cut back on the turnovers (or atleast limit them to a spot where vidor has a long field).  Don't know much about the vidor team.  If the run is their bread and butter then they might have a little trouble moving the ball against the broncos.  Also, I think that the broncos have healed up most of their boo-boos and should field a healthy team by the time the playoffs begin. (any word on the defensive linemen that's been out a few weeks?)  Healthy or not, the broncos have been here before and will show up to play football. Looking forward to it.
  8. They should put them on the 50 yard line and make them fight at halftime in between the band performances.  What fun can be had in a holding area?
  9. If there are three or four guys that are in the discussion, I always ask myself what would their teams look like if they traded places.  I think GCM would be about the same with Ploch instead of Allen, but I think Dayton would not be as good with Allen instead of Ploch.
  10. Is the MVP the best player in the district or the player who means the most to their team?
  11. I also want one of those yellow lines that runs across the field to indicate first down distance just like tv.
  12. Your right why the heck don't we have valet parking?  At the very least we should have tram service.  I guess I have to think about cancelling my season tickets.  Also, the stands are kind of high on the home side, we should have an escalator.
  13. I think the QB from Crosby would have to be in the conversation.  I also think that a case can be made for Baldwin from Dayton, he plays a big role on both sides of the ball.
  14. I know that there are some games left but who do you think it should be thus far?
  15. How's the d2 bracket shaping up? Any idea on how the the teams will be seeded?
  16. I doubt that Dayton will pull it out of the bag this week, but how sweet is it going to be when Plough goes in motion, takes the ball on a read option, and slings the ball to a wide open receiver after the defense bites on the run.  That play will be a tough one to defend.
  17. Is king still running the same offense that they've had for the past 20 years?
  18. That kid goes hard every game.  I hope he gets well quick. How does everybody feel about moving Delasbour to linebacker?  Great move for the remainder of the year imho.
  19. Ploch did have a big game.  It was kind of weird because the team won by thirty but you could see so many areas for improvement. They should be tough when they are firing on all cylinders.  I'm still looking for a couple of big games from the defense.  I know they have the talent, but I would like to see 4 quarters of lockdown defense (and no special teams errors).  Also, does anyone know when #32 (d-line) will be back on defense and what kind of injury he has?
  20. The offense is looking pretty good right now.  I think there were at least 3 drops that would have been touchdowns against galena park. But there is big play potential at every snap.  Taking care of the ball is paramount from here on out.  I'm impressed with delasbour, he hits the hole like a running back from the linebacker position.  I would like to see the defense toughen up a little bit and bring that killer instinct to the forefront.  I'd like to see them swarming like sharks when there is blood in the water.  Also, kudos to plough, at GP he blew up there wedge on a kickoff and stuck his helmet in the return mans chin.  It's nice to see one of yours beat four of theirs.  As for CE KING, the broncos should hang fifty on them, but I'm really looking for the defense to step it up.
  21. no argument with who was better on friday. A long view of history should tell the tale on this one.
  22. You coog fans crack me up. It's kind of like the aggies beating the longhorns once a decade. The aggies get all fired up celebrating a victory and start kissing their sister after every score. The longhorn fans are angry because they lost to a team like the aggies and no one enjoys watching dudes with swords kiss their sisters. However, they take the loss in stride because they know it probably won't happen again for a long time. All this to say, Crosby has gotten their win for the decade and next year when the broncos drop the hammer on them, you wont see dayton fans celebrating like they have just won the state championship or beating a dead horse (ahh the irony) on some message board. So with that being said, I hope you coog fans continue to enjoy your victory, and in the mean time...take it easy on your sister.
  23. okay, let's take this thing to the next level. If anybody has peeps that work for the newspapers, get in touch with them and make sure that the game gets reported as THE Old River Shootout. It's time to flex some of our message board muscle! I can imagine some pretty sweet t-shirts as this rivalry game grows.
  24. Points of commonality between Barbers Hill and Dayton...Thriftee, Bucks, Sonic, and getting spanked last friday night.
  25. How about the THRIFTEE FOODS CHAMPIONSHIP?
