1. Wondering who from BH went with him??
2. Where is Westfall heading?
3. April 30th at the Hull Daisetta high school gym!!!  MAYHAW MAYHEM PRESENTED BY FULL EFFECT WRESTLING!! Featuring Hull Daisetta's own:  MARK VAUGHN!!! www.fulleffectwrestling.com I am so excited about this event.  If any of you are in the area....please come out!!
4. Hey Jody, You guys should put HF on the BH schedule as soon as possible and then we can see if DP was really your problem.
5. can someone please remove the posts about the coach getting a divorce.  There are too many clues as to who he is and this isn't the place for that.  SETXSPORTSJUNKIE.....stick to sports and leave the personal stuff alone.  You shouldn't always listen to your gossiping wife. PS.  Check BH's record in sports other than football then tell me again how much Don Price doesn't give other sports an opportunity to be successful.
6.

This will be Price's job if he wants it. Hands down and running away. And if that happens, there will be some u-haul rentals in the HF area real quick.
Yes, from people leaving town to get away.
Boy you must really be jealous of Don Price.  We haven't heard from you in months and you show up to say something negative about this man as he tries to get another job!  You and your school board buddies ran him out of town...you got your wish, now leave him alone.  As your kids go 2-8 next year trying to learn how to get along without him, you better hope he doesn't turn the HF program around quickly or you are going to look really foolish.
7.

His qualifications during and since college are impressive. The years he put in on the sidelines at Newton as a "ball boy" probably puts him way ahead of many coaches as to witnessing up close what it takes to win football games. He done it for a long time and was around an awful lot of talented players and coaches. But a Head coach/Athletic Director requires a lot of understanding the business side of High School sports. If the people of Warren get behind him and give him a chance, he will do a good job. Barbays are not "gods", but have proven they know about how to build winning football programs. I think Warren has a bright future, given time.
There is a lot of football experience in his 27 years. Give him a chance. It took his uncle from 1975 until 1998 to win his first state title as a head coach.
I wish Kevin all the luck in the world.  I too know Kevin and meant no disrespect by my previous post, I was simply questioning the hire of a 27 year old HC/AD with hardly any previous coaching experience.  The excitement on this board yesterday, during the anticipation of the announcement of his hiring, was a little intense.  I thought they were going to pull out a well known name with much experience, and we got Kevin Barbay.  I know about the Barbay legacy in southeast texas and that might be as much of a curse as it is a blessing.  You have to be foolish to think that if his name was Kevin Thomas he would've been Warren's choice.  The problem Kevin will have is that people in Warren will expect that program to become as successful as the Newton program because they hired a Barbay.  If you don't believe that, ask Darrell or Brian.  I am sure they have faced similar expectations.  These expectations will not allow people in Warren to wait for 23 years for that first state title.  Since they have a Barbay, they will expect it now.  Another big hurdle is the fact that he will have to compete against the other two Barbays....and their squads are loaded.  Good luck Kevin.
8. Hmmm... I wonder about this one.  No previous head coaching experience, 27 years old, never even been a position coach in TXHS Football.  Nothing higher than a graduate assistant at a few colleges.  Anyone who played college ball knows what grad assistants do...not much.  I would like to see the list of applicants.  Were there no other options or did the Barbay name give this guys a chance he wouldn't normally get?  Someone fill me in.
9. Spill the beans coop, this is torture and I dont find it entertaining!
10. who is keith barbay?  I know Darrell from anahuac, Brian of coldspring, and Curtis of Newton....even Kevin Barbay who qb'd Nederland and coaches at Kelly, but no Keith....explain please
11. Has this malone guy been living in a cave since 1989?  Why hasn't he coached in Texas since then?  We are talking about success achieved 21 years ago.  The time he has been out of Texas high school coaching can legally buy alcohol.  They need someone young and/or currently relevant at HF.
12. Don Price is the obvoius hire off of that list..... ...but... If HF wanted to get a younger commodity...there is a name on the list that in intriguing.  Nathan Barrier from Groesbeck ISD.  This guys is a prodigy.  Son of Nathan Barrier of Waco Robinson ISD.  Look Robinson's record up during the Sr Barrier's tenure coaching there....very very successful.  Ned has never been a head coach, but he is ready.  He knows football better than any coach I have ever been around.  One of the best, up and coming, offensive minds in the High School game today. He has family in the Hull Daisetta area and coached a few years there in the late 90's and early 2000's.  He also has alot of connections when it comes to assistants.  If he is hired, he will arrive with a very capable and knowledgeable staff, that can be guaranteed. He, at least, deserves a look.  To me, these are the only two real candidates on this list.  They are like night and day, but one thing is for sure, they would both be successful as the head coach at HF.  I have been an avid Don Price supporter through all of his stuff at BH, and even suggested him for this job earlier on when Mangan was first rumored to have been dismissed, but I must admit, Nathan Barrier makes me change my mind.  Barrier should be the man for the job.

14. Venom, Please do not misconstrue my comments as frustration directed toward you.  After re-reading them, I can see how they might have been taken that way and I did not mean for it to be that way.  I too love watching Fedor fight.  I think he is great, I am just becoming increasingly frustrated because the fights I want to see look like they may never happen.  Or, may not happen with Fedor in his prime.  I think he is allowing bad people to run his career and they are inadvertantly going to damage his legacy in the process...that's all. Please accept my apology for how I may have sounded yesterday.  You are a very knowledgeable man and we are in the same boat on being huge MMA fans.  Maybe one day we can catch a PPV together! haha  Later
15.
Really don't understand why people are so fixated on Fedor going to UFC.... His last 3 fights were against top 10 heavyweights and with Werdum it will be 4th top 10 heavyweight in a row. There is no other heavyweight that has faced that level of competition recently, that's why he is far and away the #1 heavyweight in the world! If Cain, Dos Santos and Carwin went to Strikeforce instead of UFC and fought Fedor; and Werdum, Sylvia and Arlovski stayed in the UFC people would still be crying and whining about how Fedor is not fighting 'the best' I am just as interested in Fedor fighting Overeem and Barnett as anybody from the UFC... Don't get me wrong if he went to UFC it would be cool, but as long as he fights top level competition on american television I am happy! I think its funny...If Brett Rogers was signed to the UFC you would be making Rogers as example of Top HW that Fedor needs to fight, while a JDS (had he been with strikeforce) would be a 'can.' The only matches you want to see right now are those that are signed with the ufc. You base this not on talent, but on what is being sold to you by ufc hype. You are a by product of the UFC propaganda. brainwashed!
You are calling these guys some of the best heavyweights in the world??  Maybe if it was 2005, but it is not.  Silvia was just knocked out by a washed up boxer.  Werdum was run out of the UFC not long ago.  Barnett is on roids.  I suspect that Overreem is also, which is why he will not fight in the US. Tell me this "expert".....when Fedor cleans out the heavyweight division in Strikeforce, will you still say he doesn't have to go to the UFC?  It's not about propaganda, it is about seeing him fight someone who is worth a crap.  The guy who made the comment about Kobe playing in France was right on point.  If Kobe was playing in France, and was considered the best bball player on the planet, should Dewayne Wade and Lebron make the jump to France to prove that he is not?  Or should Kobe go to what is considered the premier bball league in the world and showcase his talents there?  Regardless of what YOU think, the UFC is seen as the big leagues.  You are the only one who seems to not agree with that statement.  Until Fedor comes to the big leagues I cannot classify him as the best HW in the world.  Period.
16. Totally agree with Venom.  Fedor raids Couture.  But I also agree with Couture....it's time Fedor.  Step up.
17. i once gave Fedor the benefit of the doubt on this, but after his recent refusal to accept Dana's generous UFC offer and the near whiff against Rodgers I too believe that he must step into a UFC cage against the best in the world.  Overeem, Werdum, and Rodgers aren't going to cut it anymore.  I have to believe that his next move will be to the UFC.  He can no longer avoid it.
18. Same thing happened to my roomate a few years ago in PA.  When will these guys learn?
19. First Kimbo, now Toney.  Seems as if the almighty pay per view dollar, sometimes, outweighs Dana's desire to keep his organization pure.  Why didn't he make Toney earn it through the ultimate fighter like he did Kimbo?  Kimbo meant ratings on TUF, I'm not sure Toney would.  Dana is becoming like the rest of them out there...more about money than the integrity of the sport.  After the fuss he made about Herschel Walker fighting in Strikeforce, he signs a 40 something year old boxer who is no where near what Herschel is physically.  Herschel looked like he was chiseled out of granite, Toney looks like he is full of twinkie creme.  I hope he gets knocked out quick in his first fight and is subsequently released.  But...alas....I am part of the problem....I'll be one of the ones dropping the $44.95 to see whatever card Toney ends up on.
20. Looks good, except for Kincaid. Don't know much about them.  What is their classification and are they a good match up for the panthers?
21. It is not hate if it is true.  Another wasted season coming up!
22. The citizens of Liberty still regret the day they hired Shane Deel over the other finalist, Coach Huckabee of Orangefield.  They could've had Coach Huck, not to mention his stud son, for the last two years and who knows where that program could be right now.  Instead they have a young head coach who has no concept of offense and looks downright confused on the sidelines.  It is time for a change in Liberty.
23.

I wonder why anyone would want to coach these days.
Love of the game.  8)
Forget "Love of the game"...it is because they love the kids.  Real coaches make an impact, not only on the playing field, but in the lives of their players.
