I'm not being rude, I'm just asking a simple question that I feel is legitimate. Why is it that here lately, whenever you post something about a player or coach, some moderator shows up and warns everyone that they are going to lock the thread. I've been reading these boards for a few years and posting here for a few years and it has never been that way until this season. It seems that if the negative posts have to do with PNG or WOS they are deleted or the posters are sternly warned. Back in pre season when people were running down Mitch Villamez from hardin about his being recruited by D1 schools no one was present to defend him. Or last year when the Silsbee players were accused of raping that girl (which, at this point, seems as if it was a false aligation), no one was running in and threatening to lock threads. But when we try to discuss the events at WOS, or the player involved the thread is locked and there is no mention of a big time player for a big time team being suspended anywhere on these boards. His name is printed in the Beaumont Enterprise today. Why wouldn't we be able to discuss the events surrounding the suspension? I know that everyone is going to scream that he is a minor and whatnot, and I am all for that argument. But the cat is out of the bag, everyone knows which player it was, there is no reason that we cannot discuss the incident. I am all for not running down students, or coaches, but if we cannot discuss things that are legitimate and have to do with the football we all love, then what is the point of this message board existing? I come here for news that I cannot get by opening up the paper. If all we do here is talk stats and surface level discussion, I can get that from the Beaumont Emptyprise. This boards draw is that it makes us feel like insiders. We know things about teams from all over the area and it makes us more knowledgeable and makes the game more enjoyable. Just food for thought. Please dont attack me for my opinion, and please don't delete the thread because you are not in agreeance. Let everyone discuss and lets see how everyone else feels about the issue.

Tupac, I find it hard to believe that you are an athletic director. I dont know of many of them that are up at midnight trolling the message boards defending their comrades honor. Seems as if they usually have something better to do. Sorry that your 7th grade B team parents are giving you trouble. You should give little Johnny the ball more.

Tupac, Does challenging someone to "man up" and "meet you to talk about how bad coaches are" fall into those "Christian Values" taught to you at ETBU. Sheesh man, grow up. If I found out that you were coaching my kid and posting things like that on here I'd be having a meeting with your athletic director and trying to get him to show you the door!

I also attended ETBU and I find that "christian" comments repulsive. Just becuase someone is a Christian doesn't mean they shouldn't have opinions on subjects. ETBU's opinion is a valid one, I may or may not agree, but I would never question his faith because of it. P.S. Just because someone went to ETBU doesn't mean they are automatically a Christian anyway. Geez

The HC from Anahuac is a class act. I'm sorry if it sounded like I meant all Anahuac fans when I said "classless". I was referring to just a few. I was standing right there when the man was yelling at the coaches wife, it was totally out of line. I"m glad the cop came when he did because I was just about done watching it. I was on my way to escort him out myself when the police arrived.

Great game by both teams. Oh, and ECBUCFAN, I like my crow fried with mashed potatoes. Anahuac fans were totally classless at the end of the game. One of them was running the coaches down as their wives passed in front of the stands. One of the wives took exception to it and the fan had to be removed by the police. Keep in mind, fans, for all our coaches do, there is a wife or family member that might be sitting beside or behind you. They are human beings also, and no one comes to your job and screams at you how to do your job better. Respect the wives and children of coaches. Good job Anahuac and EC!

No doubt about it. Great playoff game indeed. Sad that Anahuac is big school and Newton is not or we might see this matchup! I didn't say who has historically been better, I was asking who was better THIS year!

I dont know about the fight. Brian has the size, but Darrell would definately be able to move around enough to tire brian out. The old man might take it though. No matter how old you get you are never old enough to whip your daddy. Hummm. any thoughts on the actual football teams??

Which Barbay has the better team. Daddy Curtis in Newton, or son Darrell in Anahuac? This ought to get some interesting replies!

Wrong again Burgondy. Being an old man who is a fan of high school football in general, I like to see competition and good games. I want to see a team that makes me want to sit out in the rain, or the cold to watch them play. By your logic, I should just keep driving down the road to the high school and watching bad football, just because they are my hometown team. And besides all that, I am not just supporting Anahuac, I have a vested interest in their doing well.

He had decided to go to GCM until you "Hill" fans came to his house and wrote him letters begging him to stay. Seems as if your "problem" tried to leave and you wouldn't let him! Face it, you guys are in 4A and are just flat outmatched. Price's son was most of the reason you guys won all of those games in teh early 2000's anyway. That guy could play!

As much good as Coach Price has done at BH over the years, I find it hard to believe that you guys would question his coaching ability. He should've gone to GCM when he had the chance, his loyalty is being repaid!

Sorry, prematurely his the post button. Anyway...continuing... I am making the drive from my home to Winnie on Friday night in full support of the Anahuac Panthers. I have adopted them since my team of choice cannot seem to figure out how to win football games! haha Coach Barbay and his players deserve to win this one and I think they will. By two scores or so. EC looked good against Hardin, but believe me, Anahuac is not Hardin. Should be a great game. Winner gets all of the rice in town!

Nanna, Am I to assume that you think that since I am a Christian I am not allowed to disagree or have a different point of view than someone else? Did it ever occur to you that my son might play for Hardin and I might be a little upset about the decision making that is causing my son to come home from a 55-0 loss and cry? All I am saying is that before the season started we were on here discussing Villamez's possibly playing for Oklahoma or Texas a&m. He better be tougher than he was Friday night if he is goign to play for those programs. Anyone who knows anything about football knows that Mitch not playing last Friday was a bad decision. PS. christians have opinions too.

So since Tebow hasn't really gotten to practice for the last two weeks, do you think that Urban Meyer will hold him out of the LSU game? I mean, keeping him healthy will make their chances of winning out better and a loss to the #4 team in the nation might not keep them out of the BCS championship game. Especially if LSU loses another game. So maybe Meyer should just hold Tebow out of the game. That scenario is unthinkable because Urban Meyer wants to win them all. Obviously Haynes doesnt'. Villamez didn't walk hurt or run hurt. He averaged 10 yards per carry. If he had been in teh game from teh beginning he might have taken a little of that pressure off of Taylor and he might have gotten off to a better start throwing the ball. A coach, team, and community that will tolerate not playing a game to win is unthinkable. But I am now aware that one exists.

I've seen Kirbyville play, I've seen Anahuac play, and Anahuac is the better team. Not by much, but they are better. Kirbyville is prone to putting the ball on the ground. Anahuac will capitalize on that. As for Hardin saving Villamez for a team the "know they can beat".....I dont even know what to say. That is basically saying that coming into the Anahuac game, their coaches and players had conceided that they were going to get beat by Anahuac. But, now that I say it, they played like they knew they had no chance. If there is any fact to this rumor as to why MV didn't play, Haynes should be fired! That is a very poor attitude.

Hardin's schedule was weak, as was Anahuac's. Crayon's not needed. I'm out of this conversation. Didn't realize how sensitive you were.

Bushpilot- weren't you on here all week talking about how you were going to beat Anahuac? And now that the game is over you are saying that Haynes was not playing Villamez because "Hardin was obviously overmatched"! Which is it? Are we to assume that you never thought Hardin was going to win, you were just talking to hear yourself talk?
