Answer me this, earlier in his thread someone said that Villamez didn't play much because they were "keeping him healthy"???? What are they keeping him healthy for? This game was, for all intents and purposes, for the DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP!! Are the keeping him healthy for the Buna game? Or maybe that daunted challenge they will have when they play Deweyville? Something other than health was going on. Either that or Haynes is playing for second place.

0422 is right. The bobcats practice in shorts and shoulderpads all the time. I come through town on my way home from work at 430 everyday and the bobcats are always off of the practice field already. When I was in school, we were lucky to get off the practice field by 6. Probably why we won games and these bobcats dont.

Every player who registers with the NCAA clearinghouse gets letters from D1 schools. It is just the way it goes. The schools look through the questionairres and they decide whether to pursue or not. I wish this kid luck, but if Stelly didn't get any D1 looks, I find it hard to believe this kid will. He will be a good D2 or D3 player, but he is not quite the caliber of Christine Michael. That's how you have to compare it. Is MV worthy of the same type of attention that Christine got last year? Not quite. Especially against the type of competition he will be going up against. Maybe he will prove me wrong, I'll see Friday night! Go Bobcats, ruin that stadium opening!

Wasn't aware that Coach Huckabay was offered that job. Interesting that he turned it down. The "outcoached" comment was more pointed at the loss to Groveton the year before. HD physically dominated Groveton the entire first half, but came out in the second half and couldn't stop the counter. They literally got beat by one play, the entire second half. A friend of mine is the OC at Groveton and after the game he told me they ran the counter to the "left and to the right" the entire second half because "HD couldn't stop it". All in all, I like Slack. I"m not bashing him, just making the point that Huckabay could've taught him alot.

The article is incorrect. He has never coached at HD, he was the assistant principal there last year. He was a finalist for Liberty's vacant AD/HC job last year, but it was awarded to Shane Deel. If what I hear about him is correct, he will prove this year that Liberty made a major mistake by not hiring him. You would've thought that Joe Slack at HD would've found a spot on his staff for Coach Huckabay, but he wasn't given that opportunity. With his experience and wealth of knowledge, HD might have gotten alot out of him coaching there. Also, Slack might have benefited from someone with that kind of experience on the sidelines helping him out. HD has plenty of talent, but when the playoffs roll around, they always get out coached. IMHO.

Anyone have any idea who that might be? I've heard Chisolm Marberry is slated to start...any truth to that rumor?

Tyler Copeland has a real chance of seeing some playing time for SHSU next season. I hope he gets his shot.
