Edison is not even in the top 10. Wasnt very tough and played scared when the big boys were in town.

My only request is that you try to cover all schools equally. Big and small and wether they are the popular or not. I notice that the paper is very biased on who they give coverage to and i realize the bigger more popular schools have a wider readign base but you shouldnt have that problem too bad on the radio with the right topics. Im sure yall will do a great job. Good luck and ill listen as much as possible.

Coaches, does school size reflect coach ability
JAWS replied to THEMAN's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think these are two different animals. A big school cant afford to miss any detail in game plan and practice. where the smaller school coaches have to spend twice the amout of time coaching technique and fundamentals because lots of these kids dont play until they get older. Both coaches have to face there own sets of problems. I think both could be successful on either level. -
Sabine Pass 49 Colmesneil JV 6 Final
JAWS replied to TheCardinalFan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I scouted that game. And though Colmesneil was superior in most facates the sharks moved the ball fairly easily throughout the whole game. Fumbles cost them ( 5 of them) I think you take those back and its a different kind of game. Probably a score fest. Good luck to both teams. -
West HArdin and Hull Definitely hold the upper hand in this district. The scraps are being fought over by three lack luster teams. None of them seperating themselves from the other. I have seen all of them play and here is how i see it. High Island - Rebuilding but still able to grab that 3rd spot. Sabine Pass - new program and trying hard but show lack of dedication by the players at times. They will get it together i think. Evadale - Played teams tough no matter what size. And i think the front runner for that 3rd spot. Good luck to all.

I would take varsity blues off because it portrays our coaches in a bad way and if i would not have had some of the great coaches i have had then i think i would have turned out different. That coach was a turd.

So it seems yall are playing a weaker colmesneil team so the only way you could possibly get anything out of it is too play perfect. And seeing that yall let chester score on you twice im not sure you can do that. Im sure you will win and im sure yall will be much more successful than the pass but if you take breaks like yall do then im positive that colmesneil will scor eon you. Good luck though i hope yall do well.

Sabine Pass/Chester Final...Comments
JAWS replied to RETIREDFAN1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
From what i have seen they have looked good at time but i noticed that they will take plays off. Kids that big and strong out to dominate and they do whenthey want to but they should for the whole game -
I must have stated that wrong because i know jeff was a class act. Everyone has things in their life they regret I should know but once again i apologize if i offended anyone. I think those that make mistake should be up front about them because it take a strong person to overcome them. Good luck to Jeff and all his family.

Long, Dodge, Ford from SFA in the 80 also played at Oklahoma three year started option QB,

I know for a fact they are playing hard but not harder thatn ever. those boys have always played hard but due the lack of overall talent in the past they just werent successful. These boys have played hard for a long time and now they have worked to the point where they are as good as everyone else so please dont say they are playing harder than ever. It doesnt matter who coaches them they will always put forth effort. But Coach Bickham has done a good job.

All Time Southeast Texas Fantasy Football Team

What are we rating here. I see names still coming up that are far from the best from this area. Cammack was a good athlete but far from one of the top ten receivers in this area. If I were picking a fantasy football team from this area i would want to know if my guys took it to the next level like college. Ambres didnt cammack didnt at least not in football. I agree they are good athletes but not what i would want on my ffb team. What ever happened to mcgill, and miller these were some players but they seemed to have underachieved. -

There is a little mention about joe washington in here. He is by far the best rb to ever come out of southeast texas. He is the only one to make it pro and retire after over 10 years in the league. As far as QB's i dont think you can list beasley cause he is not even a QB anymore I think someone like the ford kid from SFA in the 80's or TOdd Dodge would have to be at the top they have state championships to like beasely except ford but he played for oklahoma for 4 years as an option QB. Everyone here only knows recent history. Im young but i know the past and athletes have been coming out of southeast texas for decades.
