Top Quarterback's In The Area This Year?
James Mosley replied to AJ25's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
nederland will be a lot better i think. i do love how you said he threw for 1900 yards in just 9 games.. what was the extra 10th game going to do? lol 2100 yards? lol very good math, at least you are learning something while on this topic, so let's say he did get the 2100 yards in 10, now stay with me here, that would be a 210 yd. a game average, go 12 games deep in a season, and that is slightly over 2500 yards, I'm simply saying, one years experience is worth another 41 yards a game, so easy 3000. Experience will more than make up for one game against Dayton, and I too am a huge Cody Green fan, very special talent... -
Big Ned vs. PNG who wins in 08?

Nederland has too much offense this year. Neither team will play tough on defense so I predict Nederland still wins this one - Nederland 35 PNG 20 -
Top Quarterback's In The Area This Year?

I never said we were the best in the area or region, heck I just think Bellows in one of the best in the area and will throw for huge numbers. Nederland has to show up with a defense to be called the best in the area, if they do, then yes, I think they can be the best in the area and region. Back to this post topic, Asa was one of the leading recievers in the state last year, Kirby was one of the leading passers in the state last year, with the experience coming back, barring injury, Nederland will put up huge numbers, if their defense shows up who knows how good or far they will go. -

Don't see where last year not making the playoffs has anything to do with him throwing for 3000 yards this year. I can see where you hanging on to last year is important to you.....Once in a life time event should stay sacred to you.... ;D ;D ;D -

Huge turnaround, heck the kid threw for almost 1900 yards in just 9 games last year. The only thing concerning huge turnaround will be the defenders turning around saying, where'd he go...... :o 10 game regular season, minimum two games deep in playoffs, over 3000 yards easy.... -

2nd year of the new spread offense takes the field this year at Nederland and Kirby Bellows has many weapons to throw to. I say the kid throws for over 3000 yards, heck my daughters could throw for 2000 with the wideouts Nederland has this year. Seriously, look for Bellows to put up huge numbers. -
Nederlands offense will be fun to watch and will put up big numbers, defense is the concern right now...For Nederland to really make a serious run for the district title the defense will need to step up...WOS's speed at the skilled position and speed of their defense will be tough to slow down. This game is hard to pick cause of the question mark on defense. I still go with the dogs by 4 points....

Jamaal Charles and Joe Washington -
I see a 3000 yard season easy this year. Too many good targets to throw to and a much improved offensive line to give him that extra second to look. Nederland will play much more than a 10 game schedule this year, so I say 3000 to 3400 yards through the air, and I'm going on just a 12 game average to get those numbers, things roll right, a few more wins and it could go higher.....If he learns to dump off to a running back 4500 plus!!!!!!!!!!

WAREALL GROGAN from Nederland.....Will be defensive player of the year for 4A and Defensive Willie Ray Smith finalist..... -
Nederland will have a solid O-line this coming year. I really look forward to seeing just how good this offense will be next year. Defense is the key for the entire season success. Offense is going to put up some out of sight stats....
-
Look for Nederland to have one of the more explosive offenses in the state. Defense will need to come together but that is what preseason is for. May see more than usual two way starters. Defense is the key, good defense and Nederland is in the hunt for the district title.

SMU and Army have made offers. This is just the first of many to come. I think he is setting his dreams higher than Lamar. I agree though, his talent along with some other local talent could bring Lamar football back in a hurry and fill the stands with people who want to see the home boys do well. I say after he attends the college mini camp circuit this summer he will start getting many more offers.

Attitude and desire can more than make up for lack of a MEAN streak. As he gets his body physically ready, (kid is already strong), add that with his desire for the game, he will be just fine. This kid has a passion to make it to the next level. Sometimes people like The Dude see only one type of mean streak, you can be aggressive and fundamentally sound without having to look like your possessed. I say as he progresses with strength and quickness he becomes the freak you are looking for Dude.

SFA85, Stefan is like a 180 degree different player from last year to this year. I'm not asking you to jump on the Nederland we love Stefan bandwagon just telling you this kid really does have a career at the next level. I hope he takes some of this new found confidence and mean streak to the field next year.
