Why would you not have a pep rally ?

It just goes to show that a great program must have everyone's backing, superintindent's and  school board's can make life hell for a good coach to get the job done. Seems like this time there will be some backlash at the next school board election, and these people seem to be serious. My hats off to these people for backing thier coach but it may be to late, coach Flanigan may have had enough of this town and it's elected officials and be ready to move on to a better place to work. 

Why is KLVI not carrying the game this week ?

It's not about matchups, it's about having your team prepared and ready to play on game day. If Vidor and Crosby met again who knows what the outcome would be, just like if Nederland and Barbers Hill played again or PNG and Dayton, the teams at the top are pretty close, but you only get one shot at the win and Crosby with all that speed couldn't do it when it mattered. When Nederland lost to Barbers Hill they(Ned) actually out played them and had the game won if not for a missed FG from short range, but they missed and BH handed Nederland their only loss of the year and all anybody remembers is Barbers Hill beat the 20-4a champion, which they did.

Not trying to put the cart before the horse, but I'm hoping they make to the region final again and face WOS in the region final at Lamar, that would be a huge game, but we have a couple of weeks and some tough teams to beat before that can happen.

[/quote]   Good Job, but don't you know Coach Neumann often reads setxsports for insight before making his game plan for the next opponent, so without our help how will they keep winning. lol.    Just kidding football, we've got the best coaches here in Nederland and I for one wouldn't trade them for anyone.

[/quote]   I agree , roll out, bootleg and run- pass options would help, our drop back passing has not looked good lately. We're not an overpowering offense, we need misdirection, counters and traps with good play action passes, outs from the slot-TE spots and crossing routeswith WR's. Hard to beat a good bootleg with a deep corner route, a 10-15 yd TE out and a short 3-5 yd out from a RB and if nobody is open you have the option to run, JMO.

From a Nederland fan, I enjoyed watching Vidor last night, they where the second best athletes on the field but by far the best team. Coach Matthews has got that team playing great football at the right time of year. I also sat on the Crosby side because of the huge crowd on the home side, congrat's to Vidor on a great playoff win and good luck next week.

Nederland is the highest ranked team in D1 region 3, doesn't guaranty any victories, but it is nice to get the recognition for an outstanding season. Brenham, LaMarque and Manvel all in D2 with PNG and if the rankings pan out, which they rarely do, we could see the PNG vs Manvel, Brenham vs LaMarque matchups, that would be some good football. If Nederland could make it to the semi-finals they could see Lake Travis, but before then there are some really good games they would have to win against some really powerful teams. Good luck to Ozen, Vidor, PNG and Nederland in the bi-district round coming up.
