WOS may win it all, but being the #1 seed doesn't guaranty a title. A couple of years ago Ned Black lost to Lum. Blue and Lum. White by big margins and came back to beat both in the playoffs by big margins to win the super bowl, good luck to Ned. White in their quest for the title, you gotta BELIEVE its yours for the taking.

[/quote] I know there is some give and take between the coaches, but everyone can't make it, and if you don't have the votes from the district coaches, who not only see you play but watch the films of your games, your not going to make it and there is no way to please everyone.

    MVP- Montana Quirante - Vidor     Off MVP-Trey Green - Ozen     Def MVP- Corbin Carr - Nederland     Coach of the year - Neumann - Nederland         It would not surprise me if none of these where picked because there are so many good players to choose from this year. These are just some that come to mind that I think are very deserving and should be mentioned when your talking mvp's.

twocents, I have no problem with your stats, just noticed they didn't add up and was curious, it''s hard to get actual numbers because most of the time the papers are diiferent from one to another, I've done the stats before, I know how time consuming it is, my hats off to you for doing what you have done to this point and good luck to your pirates in the playoffs. for purposes of defensive stats it's rushing and passing only, not kick returns, fumbles would come off of the yds gained on the play either rushing or recieving, if your adding these to defensive stats you do not have the correct numbers. defensive stats come directly from snapping the ball against the defense, a fake punt would count against the defense as positive or negative yds. All these other things do not count against your defensive stats.

I heard we where trying to get LU for GCM or Lee.

How else do you earn yds against a defense if it's not passing or rushing?

I'm probably in the minority, but I would rather play playoff games in a different stadium than at home, even at Lamar or The Butch.

I'm pulling for Ozen also, very athletic team and will represent 20-4A well in the playoffs.

[/quote] Coach Neumann has been coaching all of his adult life, he got his only head coaching job at Nederland in 92 or 93, I know he is approaching 20 years as the Nederland head coach

If I'm mistaken Coach Neumann played Jr College football on Scholarship and also played for Lamar back in the 70's,  I don't know how good he was, but you have to do something on the field to play in college. I also know he is one of the most intense coaches you will find anywhere, I wouldn't want him mad at me, he gets his point across when he needs to.

[/quote] you should have let your son bail them out, its a team sport and he is on the team, don't teach him to do things out of spite.

Not knowing both sides of the story makes this a tricky subject, that said, I know telling a coach during a game what your son does or does not do is not the right move. Attitudes can also be tricky to deal with and each coach will have a different approach, I can't understand why if there was a bad attitude from your son why he was allowed to play defense and sit out on offense, this seems like it would add to the attitude, also if your son scored 10 of the 15 TD's early in a limited role I can't understand why that role wasn't bigger to begin with. The best thing to do in youth football as a parent is to support your son by encouragement and never be negative no matter the situation,  always tell him to do his best no matter where the coach has him playing and always give 100% on the field, the best mentoring starts at home with a positive attitude. Tell your son that although he didn't make the allstar team, that is something he can't control and all he can do is his best, if your proud of him let him know it and don't focus on the negative, I know its easier said than done.

BmtSoulja1,  I feel for you, It has to stink watching what I saw friday night at Nederland, That's NOT JAG FOOTBALL. I expected us to win, but I expected yall to play some defense, my son played on that 04 team that spanked Central, and this was just as bad, I saw no fire from anyone, except the band. Something has to be done, Central has some of the best athletes around and I'll just leave it at that.

This was the closest anyone has come to beating Nederland's freashmen, 23-6. Central scored it's lone TD on a kickoff return.
