1. Both teams appear to be really good on both sides of the ball with lots of play makers, should be a great game.
2.       TOPS 1. Nederland    I like the road uniforms better than the black 2. Vidor            gotta go with the black & gold 3. Memorial      Love that black & red  4. WOS            good choice with the blue & silver     Bottom 1. Barbers Hill    nothing personal great team this year 2. Westbook      hate the Giants look, blue hat - grey pants - yuk 3. Lumberton      should change school colors to black & silver, can't believe they haven't done that yet
3. Anyone know anything about the central freshmen team? I heard they where good but I know nothing about them. Are they undefeated? I heard they had a good QB. Nobody has been close to Nederland's freshmen all year, great defense, speed at RB and an exceptional QB who can run and throw with a good recieving corp, they're fun to watch, 5:00 thursday @ Central.       BmtSoulja, I was hoping you had some info on those young Jags.
4. I agree, If Vidor wants to be a playoff contender, talk the talk and walk the walk, act with confidence but not cockyness, you have to get the kids to expect to be in the playoffs and not settle for less. I think Vidor will make some noise this year.

Devonte Mays 10.25, Chevoski Collins 9.47, Antonio White 8.06, Kyle Neal 8.16, Marquise Thomas 6.65 and Damion Collins 15.25 yards per rush attempt.

7. Most people refer to ypg when talking about defensive rankings
8.
Coach V wanted to stay at EC until his daughter graduated, which he did. His eventual move to Ball surprised absolutely no one. He inherited a Ball program that was a total wreck. Give him some time and Ball will be a winner.     They are included in the schedule/results sticky thread: GALVESTON BALL TORS (0-6, 0-2) Date     Opponent     Time     Result Aug. 26     at Houston Wheatley  7:00 p.m.     13-25 Sept. 2     at Atascocita     7:00 p.m.     0-14 Sept. 9     Beaumont Central     7:00 p.m.     21-38 Sept. 16     Lamar Consolidated 7:30 p.m.     7-14 Sept. 23     at Friendswood*     7:00 p.m.     21-47 Sept. 30     Texas City*             7:00 p.m.     20-38 Oct. 7     OPEN     p.m.     Oct. 14     at Pearland Dawson* 7:00 p.m.     Oct. 21     La Marque*             7:30 p.m.     Oct. 28     at Manvel             7:00 p.m.     Nov. 4     Santa Fe*             7:00 p.m.
I agree in the future he will turn the program around, but in the next few weeks they will take some beatings, Dawson, LaMarque and Manvel will be tough, that district is tough period, has to be the toughest in the state in 4a
9. If you know something why don't you share it with the rest of us who aren't in the know
10. You guys predicting a blow out will be surprised by Vidor this year.
11. Ozen will not hold Vidor to 10 points.
12. Now that we have played a couple of games, who wins district and who gets in the post season. 1. Nederland    2. Livingston 3. PNG 4. Vidor 5. Ozen
13.

This is a tough one. Speed versus Discipline. Normally one would think speed makes up for talent, Ozen has talent and speed, deadly combination. However, Vidor has size, disciplined and well coached offense, tough to defend. I see Vidor keeping the ball out of the the speed and talented Ozen backs hand by long drives and a lot of clock chew. My prediction, Vidor 28-Ozen 24
I guess my question is how do you figure that Ozen is less disciplined than Vidor is?
Is Vidor disciplined because they are slow or is Ozen to fast to be disciplined, confusing? However I think your a little bit wrong on both cases, both teams are well coached, have speed and are disciplined, this is a good match up with playoff implications and will come down to the wire, but I do like your prediction Vidor 24---- Ozen 21
14. I'm gonna stay away from the race discussion and say Vidor wins this in a close game. Vidor has some team speed on defense and their secondary is very good, I'm not saying if Ozen gets loose that Vidor will run them down, just that they may have a hard time running away from Vidor's athletic defense.  I think Ozen's QB may be the difference with his play making ability if Ozen pulls it out, but I'm betting Vidor controls the line of scrimmage and that Ozen can't stop Vidors running game and plays from behind all night.  This game could be huge as far as playoffs and possible tie breakers at the end.
15. Bsaebow, seems like I remember someone last year saying #9 needs more touches. lol    and you were, oops, I mean he was  right then also        I hope your right about having a plan, sometimes it seems like we can't see the forest for the trees.
16.   I was glad to see Nederland find some offense in the second half and get the win, we could have put this game away earlier if we would have kept running off tackle, they never had an answer for the outside running attack. I still say Colton Kimler needs to be on the field more on offense and needs more touches.  JMO
17.
PN-G are the" Yankees of Southeast Texas" is what I was going for... not literally a pro franchise  ;D
As they say "your a legend in your own mind"    that's just simply amazing how yall's mind works
18. Hondo, while I agree with your thoughts on Coach Thompson, why would you bring politics into this conversation, I for 1, think your "conservative psychosis" sounds more like liberal BS to me, but I'll leave at that since this is a sports forum.
19.
Football04..I agree. Squaw's attitude is ridiculous. I got so, so screw everyone else. I feel fortunate to have season tickets and having tickets for mcm guaranteed every year. Not everyone's work schedules/family situations allow them to camp out at the administration building to get tickets. There would be a lot more than a couple hundred extra fans attend this game at a bigger venue. If that can't be done, move it to Thursday or Saturday night so it can be televised...Coppell vs Denton Guyer is on Fox Sports tonight, that could be us!

That attitude is what give PNG fans a bad name.  Sad when a grow up can't act their age.
From this Nederland fan thank yall for your responce and good luck to all involved this friday night
20. This thread was started to get some thoughts on the game being played @ a bigger venue than Bulldog Stadium Or PNG's Stadium so more people might be able to enjoy what we call Mid County Madness, not to take more shots at each other, there is another thread for that. ndnsrock44 this was not directed at you as you made a good point, money won't decide this game, as for squaw, I guess I'll keep my thoughts to myself so this does't get deleted.....
21. I don't think you can stop Nelson, nobody has done it yet. This will be a great game by 2 outstanding programs and will probably be decided by how the ball bounces, meaning who ever catches the most breaks during the game, just like the WOS and Barbers Hill games, they could have gone either way. Great players, great coaches and great fans make for a GREAT GAME.
22.
I'm sure this has been considered before. I doubt either school wants the loss in revenue. If Lamar would consider donating their facility and concession revenue I believe everyone might be in favor of a Saturday game. In all fairness Ozen played all their home games at Lamar for years. Don't know if money changed hands from BISD for that honor. If not for the financial implications imo it would be a good idea.
LU would not have to donate the facility, but make it affordable and with the increase in ticket sales the revenue difference could be overcome easily.
23. All of you make good pionts, but as far as revenue, there is always a way to make up revenue when we put our minds to it. The difference in attendance is huge, possibly 7,000+, that's equall to another home side @ PNG, there is alot of revenue right there. You could also, if the game was on saturday, have the different organizations set up booths out side the stadium and sell things there, I don't think any of you realize how big this game could be or how much revenue it could generate with sponsers and possible TV money kicked in.  An additional 7,000 seats @ $5.oo a seat is an extra $35,000, this is not chump change.
24.

Just curious how many people would actually like to see this game played in front of a 20,000+ standing room only crowd. This game is in the top 5 rivalry games in the state and with a little PR work could be the biggest, and if it was moved to saturday would attract fans from all over southeast Texas and possably be shown live across the state.
I'm sure I'll take some heat for this reply, but I'll let it fly anyway. If you wear purple & white or black & gold this game means everything, but if you don't...it's just another southeast Texas game. If it was played on Saturday I would probably go, but I'd go if it was some other southeast Texas teams too just to see good high school football. It is a great rivalry for your schools, but has very little meaning except for the district standings outside of your communities.
For those other fans who would show up just because it is a good high school game, they would quickly see how the electrifying a mid county madness game can be, it's the fans that make this game what it is and it has room to grow, lots of people don't go because they can't get a ticket
25. I humbly disagree ,it's still Nederland and Port Neches Groves, but instead of 13,000 fans inthe stands there might be 20,000 +.  JMO and I appreciate yours.    Change is always hard.
