Returning starters does not assure you of anything, ask Vidor, they returned 19 or 20 people a couple of years ago with high expectations because of all the returners and it was just another average year for Vidor.  Returning average starters gives you an average defense, but I do think Nederland will be a solid defense next season because they are working hard to not be average and return to the top of the district. 

I think Cross deserves consideration

Seems as though the PNG faithful are getting restless, starting to complain about the coaching staff doing nothing again and playing guys that aren't producing, I'm sure a win on tuesday will help.

Sometimes it takes the right coach to not screw things up. Tallent helps but you gotta be smart enough to use it the right way or it could get all screwed up.

If you havn't noticed baseball has been making a name for itself since the mid ninety's when they where regular's in the region finals and had state tournament appearances, basketball is starting to because of Coach English who I believe was hired by our current AD. While we may disagree on some of the smaller issues I think our athletic department as a whole is in better shape than most of our district and is in the top tier of the region over all, but nothing is ever perfect and let's be glad Brian English is in charge of our basketball program, I know I am.  I also know that our football program was in the toilet when Coach Neumann got here and it is now one of the more respected programs in region 3, as is our AD.

That was a shot at bulldogbacker for saying our assistant coach was mindless and stareing into space and another one at you abe for saying our AD was insecure and didn't want any other sports at Nederland to do good, I disagree with both statements, however I do agree we didn't play our best and Ball was better.

Coach Amber Branson coached her Lipan (tx) girls basketball team to regional semi final victory then proceeded to have her third child before returning to the bench to coach the team to a regional championship and a birth in the state tournament, that's dedication

Haven't you read the last few posts about our mindless assistants and how our AD doesn't want our other sports to win because he is insecure, that's why Kelvin fouled out the assistant didn't tell Coach E that Kelvin had picked up his second foul because he was stareing into space

Well now I'm confused, do we have a good assistant coach or don't we. 

You gotta do something with Roc before you can hire anyone else. I wonder how long it will take before there is a news conference and a decision whether Roc will stay or go, surely Lamar will not leave everyone hanging without an answer one way or the other.

Do you think the "top dogs" don't want Coach English to win.  Isn't there two assistants, which one are you calling mindless, or is it both? 

Coog88 I think you hit the nail on the head, Nederland does not want to get into a track meet with Ball, if they can slow things down they have a chance, and that's all you can ask for, play close and give yourself a shot at the end.

While I admire Coach Suggs, as a Nederland fan I don't want him back in 20-4a

Is the gym on W San Augastine? PA News says turn left on Ramsey dr and continue to W. San Augastine, but it looks more like you would turn right on Red Bluff and then turn left on San Augastine, I can't see where Ramsey does anything for you. Anyone know the directions for sure?

    Humble started the season at 7-7 after 14 games, only district loss was to Huntsville in a close game and they won the rematch by 19, this game will be a battle
