I wouldn't bet against WOS, but I don't think you will stop their offense, you might could win, remember I'm not sure Vidor can win district, I just know they are going to eat the clock and score, and very few defenses are going to be able to do anything about it.

By saying Vidor handled WOS I didn't mean any disrespect to WOS, they are one of the best in the state year in and year out, I just know the yardage Vidor put up against WOS is not easy to do, you just don't line up and run against WOS, But Vidor did this year. I pointed out Vidors tough road schedule in district, they may not win district, I just don't see anyone with stopping that running game. I'm a diehard Nederland fan, not a Pirate fan, doesn't make me any difference whether Vidor wins or not, I just call'em like I see them, and if you are going to stop Vidor's running game, you better pack a lunch. Again I'm not a pirate fan, but I think it is their year, and if I'm proven wrong I don't care, I hope Nederland wins anyway and they might, but they will have to out score them. For the record I think Central and Westbrook would be the best defenses Vidor would see in the golden triangle, Central will get their shot, WB we'll never know.

Barbers Hill did out play PNG, just didn't win, -6 turnover and lost by one on the road. I saw the PNG - Crosby game and not only could those private schools have scored on crosby's defense, our STJFL team could have scored on them. Crosby has givin up 86 points in the first half of 2 games, their terrible. You png guys are seeing through those purple colored glasses again. Remember y'all were 2-0 last year.

Nederland is missing people also to baseball and a summertime knee injury, even if Dionte plays his not 100%, you play with who you got no excuses from either side.

WOS is definitely the most consistant in football and Ozen & Kountze in basketball, we'll see if Ozen can continue without their coach, Dayton has been good the last two maybe three years but before that they were spotty, they made the play offs alot but never had much success till recently, I remember in 04 calling off the dogs at half time at Rice Stadium.

I can also tell you what we have for sure, A 3rd year QB that is cool as a cucumber, has a hell of a slider, but sometimes throws off his back foot and misses high when he is slinging it around. "A" proven receiver in Brady and a stable of unproven receivers hopeful of playing at the level of a Brady, or a Cardenas or Butler. An unproven RB that should be very good in this offense, but you never know till u carry the ball full time and see how the running game develops. A defense that everyone is hopeful of getting better, but no one really knows what to expect on defense this year. The only thing I'm sure of is that Coach Neumann will get the most out of this group that he can and I hope it's a DC or at least a playoff spot, we could accomplish both or neither, hows that for riding the fence. The fact that nobody is talking tells me nobody is confident enough to talk, I apologize if my glass seems half empty, it is really half full. Football season is here though and PNG, Lumberton, Vidor, Barbers Hill, Central, LCM, WOS, Silsbee, Bridge City, Hamshire Fannett, Orangefield, Dayton, they are all on here talking and Nederland, the team with all the support and following is taking the wait and see approach. Is anyone in Nederland ready for some football.

I think everyone in Nederland is waiting to see what we have this year before commenting to much. I can't remember a pre-season this quiet in Nederland.

Ozen & Westbrook Nederland @ WOS Central vs Memorial All should be great opening games with new coaches @ 3 of these and the other 3 have high hopes even after losing alot of starters. I know Nederland will be improved even after losing Grogan and Cardenas, Westbrook has big shoes to fill as does WOS @ RB & QB

I certainly wouldn't bet against WOS but Nederland will be ready to play, Nederland will have to find a way to deal with WOS's speed. I'd sure like to see WOS keep the series going with Ned the next few years and add PNG back to the schedule, there's no reason these two shouldn't be playing.

With the new facilities at The Reservation - homeside bleachers, score board, pressbox, field turf almost new field house - new attitude in the bleachers and on the field, and a fresh young mind on the sidelines, that damn cherokee blasting with every first down, PNG will be a very intimidateing place to play. I'm a die hard bulldog and I hope we win , but Larry better have the troops ready; with all that being said my money is still on Larry

What makes an offense effective is execution and play calling, This is why some coordinators script the first couple of series of downs to see how the defense will react to what they are doing and then attack. The VooDoo is in the mind of the one calling the plays, not everyone can do it.

I'd like to see that team actually take the field and play, that's an impressive team top to bottom. Good luck to all at the next level
