They won in a hard fight battle 31-21. For some reason Newton wasn't on our in 2004. Kirbyville was loaded and beat a state runner up Jasper team 42-20 when Newton loss 25-6 in 2004. Our boys had a sour taste in their mouth after realizing they couldn't play Newton.

Thank goodness for Coach Alvarez to turn our program around. We have been successful for a while now, its time for a state title.

I have to say Coach Alvarez who having another fine season considering tons of skilled players lost to graduation. Before the season started everyone was writing Kirbyville off, but they started out hustling and ENDED UP BALLIN like Lil Wayne say on his song!! Go CATS!!! Bring that title to Southeast Texas baby!!

Newton had a great win this past friday, but they better buckle 'em up tight this friday. Flannagan better get ready for the "D" because they gonna be in his face all night. Kirbyville wins district once again. ;)

We know Corrigan has tradition, but Kirbyville has spanked their butts the last 4 or 5 meetings and don't see any different this year. It may not mean much to you, but Corrigan struggled to beat a athletic Woodville team 19-7. Kirbyville started putting backups in the second half against Woodville with the score 35-7 and a final score 49-7. It was our special teams that gave up a touchdown on the kickoff, defense played lights out buddy!

HJ-Hawk25 if yall play solid defense for four full quarters it will get interesting. Their Offensive scheme is not working for them this year, Kirbyville whoop them every where except for where it counted and thats the scoreboard. It was a crazy way to lose.

I think both squads have the talent to go, Kirbyville is peaking at the right time with the exception of the penalties and need work on their passing. Newton seems to give up big plays this year, need work on tackling better and playing sloppy in the first have. Kirbyville's defense is definely ready for the playoffs.

Kirbyville will be better next year. It is a lot of talent in that small town.

Arp was lucky to stay in the game last year with all those muffed punts Kirbyville had last year. I can promise you they know who Kirbyville is, veteran players or not Kirbyville is peaking at the right time and have been battle tested, Arp has a weak schedule. I know Arp will come to play, but Muleshoe is more well coached than they are. I'm hoping we play Muleshoe again, they are undefeated too.
