No, not always. If a team has a weak Sr. class there may be a bunch of Soph. on varsity. Those soph. would have been the stud players on the JV, leaving a void on the JV team.

I agree that Lamar should make it to Regionals every couple of years. To think that they will every year is ridiculous. The Southland is a pretty good baseball Conference. I was trying to make a point to TT that even though Lamar's SOS in pre-conference games is not as strong as other Southland teams, they still finish high in the conference standings from year to year.

I said Lamar won their Division LAST YEAR. Look at the season ending standings from 2008, it includes Standings. [Hidden Content]

UNLV- I just looked at the Stats and it doesn't look like Lamar played that bad. Lamar struck out a total of 8 times and NSU struck out a total of 10 times. Tucker was not the only Cardinal that had a good game. Dunkin was 3-4 with 2 RBI. Taylor was 2-5 with a HR. Lamar left 13 on base with 9 of those in scoring position. They just did not get timely hitting. They had 12 hits on the night. NSU had 13.
