Seems to me they could give Tarkanian, Bob Huggins and Rick Pitino a run for their money....
Don't hate cause they gonna get some more of your girls in the years to come ;)
Wonder if they will be approved to play varsity????? ;)

If played correctly, a zone is a man to man with lots of switching... and at times a man to man is a zone (help side, away from ball)... Good defensive teams make it hard to distinguish what defense is being played.... The thought that you stand in a 2-3 or 1-3-1 set up makes it REALLY easy to get good looks and easy buckets...

I HATE to hear this!!! I wish you well in your new venture! -Mike
LT. Dangle........ There is a lot of he said she said...we will do this if you will do that....kind of talk going on....I am frustrated with the whole situation, as are many officials.as well as coaches...This will be my last season in the Beaumont Chapter, and I would love for us to get back together....I have missed calling for schools that fall under TASO....I AM MOVING TO DALLAS....and I plan on working in the North Dallas chapter after the first of the year....Stay tuned because when i leave I plan on giving my list of COACHING SUPERLATIVES. THose are open AAU events... this would classify as an allstar type event though due to having won an award (all dist.) to be ableto participate.... not trying to stir anything, just would hate to see this hurt any local players down the road.
-
I thought you had to be a senior to play in all star games?
All Slick Rick is in it for is to make sure Mobile ExXon gets another tax brake. They only made 30 Billion profit last year, and Diesel is now $4 a gallon.
Exxon Mobile gets a local property tax break because the local counties decided the trade off of jobs created vs property tax collected on vacant land was a good trade off... All that gas you used driving to Austin this year helped contribute to the rising cost! haha

any news on this? Gotta be tough with all the non-renewals Lumberton is doing this year....

Schools drop in state funding

While I don't agree with BISD hardly ever.... consider this... 3 high schools... lots of jr. highs and elementary schools... If you took the Superintend/ admin. salaries from evadale, buna, kountze, hj, east chambers, h-f, wos and orangefield.... (about the same number of kids) .... you can see where I'm going with this.... I can definitely see some consolidation coming in the near future with some of the smaller districts around the state.... -
Poppa- you hit it on the head..... the dept. of education is a waste!!!!!!!

Retired from the education system and recieving a pension. 2. Working for the same education system and recieving a paycheck. They and many others are double dipping the system. It should not be possible. If they want to come out of retirement and coach or teach because they are good at it, they enjoy it and are needed that would be fantastic. It is nothing personal with these two fine coaches it just does not make good financial sense.
Double dipping? They paid into the retirement system over a lifetime of work and then took advantage of being a conscientious, hard working employee by reaping the benefits of their work and you call this double dipping. They do not receive state benefits like all other state employees nor do they receive state retirement like all other state employees. A state highway department worker with out a college degree receives better insurance and better state retirement than teachers. As America and Texas together fall further behind the world in the quality of educating our children let's continue to blame teachers and cut money needed to educate the young. There's a great rally cry "LET'S BE MORE MEDIOCRE".
As they should... their job is a bit more dangerous...pay does not make you do your job any better... only helps you choose to do it in the first place... ;) -
No one is "entitled" to a job....... those sports affect around 30 kids, the coaches that coach them, the bus drivers, etc... Sports is the reason alot of kids go to school and pass!!

coming from beaumont/ barbers hill/ baytown.... go I10 east.... exit 146 south... (Go over Fred Hartman bridge.. the one with the yellow cables) After bridge, take 225 west. Exit Center Street Turn left on Center street.. turn Right on San Augustine. (there is a baytown seafood there) About a 1/4 mile down, you will turn left. (there is a vet, barber shop etc.) right before the school gym entrance in by the tennis courts.
