Some coaches are blessed with talent and their coaching skills or lack thereof aren't detected. Good coaches know how to put their weaker players in situations to blend in with their stronger talent. Good coaches teach the fundamentals of the game and get their players to do it in the game.
Couldn't agree with you more....
Good coaches DEVELOP talent... (aren' t blessed with it always)... Good coaches teach fundamentals that enhance ones talents and minimize flaws.  Blue Dove... we finally agree on something.... but to say a coach at a winning school is blessed with talent and that is why the consistently win is flawed... Boutee, Sutherland, Williams, etc. could probably win 20 games where ever they coach at...because they will develop talent... ;)
 2.
Well Bleed you just had to say the word...didn't you...Cant be cause the coach in the past isn't around any more could it....can't be cause the parents wore their kids out with lil dribblers...can't be cause the talent these days just isn't like it was when your daughter played...And it's sure not cause some of the girls want to practice another round ball during YOUR basketball season Bleed...I understand your concern..we have been down this road..but once again it doesn't interfere with the sport in hand...Lack of leadership and talent is what I see has happen to 3a sports...Would you agree?
By leadership, do you mean players?  The coaching this year in 21-3a is as good if not better than is has ever been. As far as talent.... that is in the eye of the beholder... I'd take a team full of 8 point scorers over 1 player who could put up 30 any day! If you look at the coaches in 21-31 this year.. Fountain - BC coached forever at Nacogdogches (sp) and has tons of wins Collazo-HF successful at PNG, Kelly, i think Lufkin Hudson... ton of wins Davis- HJ very successful as HC at LCM, successful at TJ as asst..... phenominal  win/loss percentage Orebo-WOS successful over the years at WOS... still trying to rebuild a program that went to the gutter the year she left. Jost- OF see description for Coach Davis
 3. Bleed, OF has 6 seniors this year.... as far as hamshire goes, they are normally better in jr. high because they are more aggressive.... as the level goes up to jv, then varsity,... skill and speed win over aggressiveness...
I don't think it is coaches, I think kids lose interest. The girls have been losing numbers for the last 10 years that I know of.  Most of the classes at Orangefield have 1 maybe 2 seniors on the team. In 2007 we had 7 seniors, that is a rarity. Again I have a opinion but still don't understand. Back when I played we had some good athlete's that quit but there was enough to fill the void. Now it seems there is not enough.
4. It was nice to see the press coverage this game got last night... Win or lose, it was good for Girls basketball in this area!
 5. Great team effort by the Lady Hawks tonight!!! Foul trouble really test the HJ bench and the girls did great...  One of the better defensive games the LAdy Hawks have put together in quite a while!!! Thanks for the pick bleed....  ;)
 6. With the guys game following, this one will be full... maybe not standing room, but full..!!!! It is not like our gym holds alot of people anyway...
 7. This game will probably be a standing room only game....huge crowd expected....
 8.
Orangefield by 5.
Shame on you bleed!  The gumbo was good last time you picked against the hawks!!!! ;D
 9. I think it is awesome for our girls to get to play infront of good crowds!  Our boys teams have a greta following and it is nice to be able to benefit from that... I always wondered why we haven't done it sooner...
 10. Livingston is way overrated... ozen should handle them soundly......
 11.

Why cant the Silsbee HJ rivalry be called.....Hardin County Havok...... ;D....it is turning out to be that passionate...let me hear your ideas
Once you have 12,000 plus attend 'The Hardin County Havok' like the NED/PN-G game does, then maybe it will be a name that will 'stick'....
different sport man.... if basketball had 50+ kids suited out, full bands, drill teams, etc... this game probably would draw that many... don't feel so threatened.. I am sure no one meant any disrespect to the mecca of southeast texas, mid-county

 13. Tomorrows HJ vs Silsbee game may have one of the biggest crowds to see a girls basketball game in this area for the past few years...  The boys game will follow and should be a packed house...
 14.
HF played very well the first half making a high percentage of their 3"s and freethrows. The 2nd half was different. They tried running with the Hawks and lost their legs. I don't think they made a 3 the 2md half and they shot alot of them. That was the major difference in the game. The Hawks just kept going strong and finished strong. HJ needs to start shooting their freethrows better. I think at one time HJ was 3 for 14 at the freethrow line and that is not the norm for this team. I think HF proved why I think they will grab the 3rd spot and make the playoffs this year.
Very well put....
 15. HJ wins 61-39.....  HJ held HF to 0 pts in the 4th quarter.  HF looked good for 3 quartes and then just ran out of gas...
 16. I would say the keys to winning are the same for both teams.... limit turnovers.... convert free throws...make open shots...keep key players out of foul trouble
 17.
Kelly won 2 state championships with him playing but he want the whole team matt pace was good and so were many others and there is no denying that considering they won the state championship the year after he left to and nearly won it again the next year
2003-2004 #@ 2004-2005#*@ 2005-2006*@ #Mulenax *J'Covan Brown @JB Brown Kelly didn't win it the year after J'Covan left... they lost to nolan I believe in the playoffs in 2006-2007.
 18. poor ft shooting and a lack of effort at times by the lady hawks..... bc did a good job, however...the game was not as close as the score shows....
 19. Taylor Mullenax Edward Persia Can't remember the name, but went to Frodham in the mid 90's....
