I have thought all year that Madisonville is way under rated.... and will probably win that district with navasota 2nd and rudder 3rd...

the neat thing about high school is that there are 4 grade levels to combine..... 2 great classes merged with 2 average classes do no always equal success......

BH is better than livingston... I think Central is as well even though livingston beat them earlier... but that is why you play the games... there are 5 or 6 3A teams in the top 15 that would not be in my top 40.....

The girls game has been like this for a while....  I think it boils down to several things.... 1st... body control.  Most girls cannot control their bodies while in motion to avoid contact.. due to lack of core muscles... this leads to alot of collisions.. 2nd... girls are mean... watch a jump ball... there has not been a girl who will concede that it is just a "jump ball"  they will fight tooth and nail to rip the ball away from the other girl rather than settle for a jump ball. This leads to girls laying on the floor. 3rd... officials... normally... not always... girls tend to get less experienced officials.. especially at the lower levels.  An official will miss a call, then let one go to "make up" for it.  This always seems to lead to some pretty rough games. To me, these are what cause the roughness... especially #1...

Just like anywhere, good ones and bad ones... we had some strange officials the first few games, but the last two were very well called.... (actually 2 of the better called games I have been in in a while..) But yes, they call a different style... and I think it will hurt them in the triangle.  Central will be the only threat to them though.... they have 2 D1 players and are really good this year.

It was bad.... but you have to look at it both ways.... it benefits a pressing team, when not all the reaches and shoves are called...  I got to see yalls game against rusk.....  That was like watching a goat get slaughtered...haha

For those who love to complain about our local TASO or UIL officials,  Go watch a game outside our area... The tournament today in Livingston made me really appreciate the fine job our 2 local chapters do. A fight broke out in the Jasper/Kountze game, the Tarkington/Kountze gamehad at any given moment at least 2 players layed out on the floor... etc... I won't even get to our games, because we could have done a better job of adapting... (hard to adapt when you are being tackled though) Thank you local guys for the jobs you do!!!
