I guess as an outside observer, I have to question a district that has riffed or non renewed in the neighborhood of 12 teachers over the past year, why would you buy out a contract like Westfalls? Now you are paying for 2 ad/hfcs, why do that?

I knew coaches that would try to beat you in the ground everytime you played.  They just were not as sucessful as Wise in doing it.  He has more basketball players on his team than some ISD's have in three HS's.

Jimmy Smith?  I saw him play in HS.  I did not think he was in the class of these others.  He was good but not better than Labradford Smith from Bay City.

May 1st, really gives the new guy time to work and evaluate. 

Heard they have had quite a few apps.  Anybody know a timeline?

I will preface this by saying I have no irons in the fire or dogs in the fight.   As an outside observerer, there are more issue that need to be handled.  However, they do not need to be handled on this forum.   All this bickering is not beneficial to the end result, that the kids at HF deserve the best opportunity.   Ok, Mangan did not work out.  Quit beating the dead horse. If you wonder about it coaches that consider appying watch these boards and form opinions about communities, situations and jobs.   Perception is reality.........

Stan Labay is a class act.  Hope he enjoys retirement.  He and my dad were on staff at El Campo.  He lead by example.  I can not even remember hearing him cuss.

I had the opportunity to meet Coach Gage this summer, a very humble and devote man who is strong in his faith.

Dont use nike.  Then the UIL does not get their cut.  I have found that if you commit to one brand as a school, they will help you out with discounts and all.

You always hear of the negative, here is a positive.  Had the opportunity to eat lunch by the team today.  These young men represent Beaumont well.  Well behaved and courteous.  Usually when you get as many kids together as they had it is loud and impossible to visit with anyone.  Not with these young men.  You make your school proud.
