  1. Good luck Newton.
  2. Tigernation will converge on Abe Martin Stadium and render a sea of Maroon and White. The Tiger hopes of a State Semi-final round next week start at 7:30 tonight. The object in the way are Bulldogs, short, stumpy, flat faced creatures. Oh, they have had some succes in the past, three state titles in three years a couple years ago. But this is now, this is here, not the past. This is the present. Game time is fast approching. Will the Tigers maul the Bulldogs are will the short creature trip the Tigers hopes up. In the words of a great reciever (and greatly hated) "Get your popcorn ready" its about to be showtime. Go Tigers!!!
  3. These two teams pretty much mirror each other this year. Both lost their first game of the year in which they should have easly won. Both have an offense that can score some points. Both have a defence that gets after the ball. Both teams did what they need to do to get to this game. Carthage has a little more team size and Silsbee has a little more team speed. Carthage is more use to going this far in the playoff and this is Silsbee's first time to be this far since 1998. This game has got to be one of the better match ups this weekend. It is really building up to be a good game. Safe travles to all. Oh and for my pick, well I'm a homer and going with Silsbee to win. Go Tigers!!!
  4. [quote name="bbfan1955" post="1340744" timestamp="1353785485"] There Were Fouls Call On Both Teams Kountze Just Had Alot More Players And [b]Kountze Played More JV Players Then Silsbee Did [/b] So Stop Crying Aggie Are We You Try To Put Down Kountze Ever Time The Game Is Over With Now So Move On [/quote] Really!!! Only three players played on varsity last year for Silsbee. And two played all year long. AAW not crying just stating the facts.

[quote name="KingJames123" post="1340597" timestamp="1353774865"] [quote author=BADSANTA link=topic=106666.msg1340587#msg1340587 date=1353774264] Every knows if Silsbee had all their football guys, the score would have been Silsbee winning by at least 20. [/quote] But yall didn't... and it was kountze by 20.. so thats that...[b]Didn't hear anything about missing players when yall beat Central[/b]... its over and done with. [/quote] That's because you must not have read the Silsbee/Central thread. It was all over it. Silsbee was ice cold in the first half. I was shocked that we where just 12 points down in the first half. In the third Silsbee heated up and took a lead in the game. The game really got out of hand when Willson fouled out with 5:11 left in the game. Kountze has size, speed and can shoot the ball. The player with the head band was popping it from three point range. Go Tigers!!!

  8. After seeing some of these predictions about Silsbee losing, it looks like some people are giving up on the basketball team untill the starters get done with football. Well I can say this, Silsbee's coach he aint gave up on his players. He aint waiting on nobody. That man is coaching this team to win, and doing a good job. Keep it up coach and congrats Tigers. Go Tigers!!!
  9. WOS was mad that Silsbee scored two TDs on them last week and took it out on Cleveland. Congrats WOS. Keep it rolling.

[/quote] Well, since I come from an era where only the district champ made the playoffs, I consider it very important to a football program. Winning a championship is a good thing, something to be proud of and strive towards. Is it the end all be all? No. But it's nothing to just completely discard. Winning a state championship is the ultimate goal, but a district title should be a goal as well. [/quote] Well said!!!
  13. [quote name="football2010" post="1324695" timestamp="1352492407"] Man some of you at WOS are hilarious like a bunch of little kids. Man when y'all get your behinds tore up in the playoffs I don't know how some of you are going to make it! Oh well you always have basketball or wait do you? I'm sure y'all are the best of the best of the best in that too. Or are you?  Oh and PS remember you aren't in high school playing anymore. [/quote] Code book, gotta have a code book!!!!!
  14. Silsbee 7th grade A team went undefeated at 8-0 this year. With 7 shut outs. No contest in games. 282 points for, 8 points against. Thats 35.25 points per game for and 1.14 points per game against. A wooping +34.11 point differance.

I can assure you I am NOT an idiot! I can disagree with what is typed on here, that's what this website was created for: discussion within the rules.  One would think that two teams battling for a district crown with only one loss between them and one team with a state ranking would have an edge. Mike and I talk and we don't always agree but we don't call each other names either.    [/quote] The game you discuss is meaningless other than for pride purposes.  Both sides know that they are going to the playoffs and what division of the playoffs that they are going in.  The game that was chosen (and you may not agree with your broadcast partner, but on this one I certainly do) has the drama that the game you favor lacks. Oh and if you think I am going to retract my earlier assessment, I wouldn't hold my breath. [/quote] Yes, I have read on here many times that a district championship is just like you said meaningless, as long as you make the playoffs. I guess that is the mind set since three and four teams get to go to the playoffs. I guess playing for a district championship lacks drama? Oh and I guess a quy like you wouldn't retract your earlier assessment so God bless.
