OK, AAW gonna have to give you a +1 for that one. I was there also and the defense look good and hitting was ok at spots. The pitching, as always, will be better in a couple of weeks when the scrimmage with other teams begain. All in all I'm with AAW best team I've seen all year so far.

For the past several weeks Silsbee has been able to say there the best in 21-3A and better than HJ. The reason is because Silsbee has earned it by beating HJ and not losing any district games so far in the first round. Now, the second round is starting and even if HJ beats Silsbee they still will not be able to say they are the best in 21-3A or will they be able to say there better than Silsbee. The thing is Silsbee wont be able to make that clam eather. Go Tigers!!!

Is Select Baseball Ruining League Baseball?
STiger85 replied to REDBIRD99's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Don't yall just love it when it is said that there is better coaches in select than little league. If the same coach coaches select and little league does he turn on a "Better Coach" switch when they go to select. I have coached both leagues and I have loved every minute of it. While on select teams there is better talent through out the team because you can select players, in little league you have to draft players and some players have not advanced in talent as quickly as others. But all players have a general love for the game. I believe that is where the better coaches come from. In little league, if little Tommy in right field gets a ball hit to him and he throws it ten feet in front of him trying to reach second base, some will say "can't that coach teach him how to throw a ball". I say well he was throwing to the right place. If the same thing happen in select ball some will say "boy that coach has him burning that ball to second". I think what is hurting both leagues is the scheduling. Some cities play little league on Saturdays and some do not. Some of the smaller cities Saturday games means a lot of money. Also, some select coaches refuse to let there player play in other leagues. I think is bad. I say let them play both, because if you ask a young player they mite want to play with there school friends, not just teammates. -
OK, so far today: As the sun rises over the trees on a start to a cloudless day it's warmth melts ice that has formed from a cold, long winter night. The dreams of the seniors last year in high school baseball have come at last. There questions, who will we beat? what will our record be? will we make the playoffs? how far in the playoffs will we go?, will all be answered in four months. Good luck to all teams on this first day of baseball in 2012. Go Tigers!!!
Silsbee has a lot of great athletes, and they are very good at every aspect of the game of basketball except that the have no class and can't control their mouths... They were only called for one technical foul tonight, when they should have been called for at least five.
Your talking about no class. Take a loss and go on.
