3. I heard Mike woke up yesterday morning and his foot was hurting, went to get out of bed and felt a pain shoot from his foot up his leg. All I can say is Mike must not have cleaned the house up right. Does anybody remember the movie "Misery".
4. When these two teams get together you can through the records and what they did against other teams out the window. This is The Rivalry Game, Silsbee v Jasper. A knock down, smashmouth, in your face football game. Jasper is always hard to beat at the Dawg Pound. I'm gonna say Silsbee by 5 (a homer pick I know) but that's how I roll. Good luck and have a safe game with no injuries. Go Tigers!!!

7.
Polls are cattle bred for no horns, right. I think this game is going to be great with a lot of exciting big plays. The offense Silsbee runs is designed for that and Newton has the team speed for that. All it will take is a moments hesitation from either defense and you can put six on the board. Turnovers for either team may spell disaster. It's going to be a high scoring game IMO. :) The boy on the bridge with the banjo was just waiting on a ride to the game.  ::) I think I saw him get in that chip truck!!
I agree right with you ChampionEagles. But I'm thinking defense will rule this game with the score in the 20's for both teams. I think Silsbee will make that fieldgoal this year (one that we missed two years ago) and win by three. But this will be one tough ball game. Always is when these two teams meet up. No better way for these two teams to get ready for district play than to play top notch teams.  Go Tigers!!!
8. It's the Mike and Tim Show live from Tiger Stadium. The #9 ranked team in 2A Newton Eagles (2-0) fly into the Tiger Den to take on the Silsbee Tigers (3-0) in the battle of unbeatens. Someone will come away with a loss tonight. It's the SETXsports Big Game of the Week and Channel 6 Game of the Week. Join the Mike and Tim Pre-Game Show at 7:00, then at 7:30 it's the stars of Friday Night Football. Stay tuned to the Half Time Show for the game stats and scores from all across Southeast Texas. Go Tigers!!!

10. I know you have heard the term "bend but don't break" for defense. That was Silsbee tonight. The L-train rolled up 502 yards on 81 plays with 23 first downs and scored 35 points. That was the bend part, the don't break part was Silsbee "D" forcing two turnovers, two punts one was blocked, two turn over on downs a missed field goal then the goal line stand to end the first half.  Keeping Lumbertons lead to one touchdown.  Lumberton spreads the ball around very well, seven running backs and nine wide receivers got in on the action. Silsbee just had 45 plays and 323 total yards. Fokes that's 126 plays and 825 yards of total offense with 84 points scored for both teams. This was as VERY good game. In the second half Silsbee's speed proved to be to much for Lumberton. Oh and one more thing Lumberton kelp the ball for over 30 min. This team will get it right and when they do 20-4A better look out. Keep your heads up Lumberton you have a team that plays with tons of heart. Now for Silsbee, way to keep your heads and take charge. You never gave up and never quit. Great job Tigers. This is a good win. Go Tigers!!!
11. Just some quick stats: I want to apologize for not having the names of the Lumberton players, could not find the paper with their names on it when I got home. 14. It's the Mike and Tim Show coming at you live from Raider Stadium in Lumberton. It's the Village Creek Classic. The Silsbee Tigers lead all time 15-7, but the Lumberton Raiders have run off six stright wins. The Silsbee Tigers travel across the creek, deep into Raider Nation to take on the L-train. The Tigers have won their first two games of the year and are looking to make it three in a row. The Raiders are 0-2 and looking for their first win of the season, and there's no place like home to get it. Join us for the Pre-Game show at 7:00 and then at 7:30 it's the stars of Friday Night Football. Stay tuned for the Mike and Tim Half Time Show for stats from the game and updates from all around Southeast Texas Football. Go Tigers!!!
15. Silsbee leads the overall series 15-7, but Lumberton has won the last six games. The last two have been won by a touchdown or less, in other words they have been good games. These next three games for Silsbee will be alot tougher, better programs, better class of players. In the first two game Silsbee has done what they should have done, won the first two games and won them handly. Lumberton will bring a different offensive set up than what Silsbee has faced in the first two games, they are a run first and very seldem pass offense. I think Silsbee will win by ten. This will be Silsbee's toughest team they have faced so far, by far there toughest. Go Tigers!!!
16.
I'm not sure what you guys are expecting from Cleveland fans. If you were looking for nice game Silsbee then,"nice game Silsbee." The game was better and more competative than the final score indicates. I think Indian play calling was a little questionable in the second half, but that's not why Cleveland lost. Silsbee was the better team for now. I hope we have an opportunity to hook up again in a couple of months. The Indians are very young. They start 8 sophmores total(6 of those on defense). Due to an injury, that number went to 7 on defense in the second half. The offense is new and is a work in progress. I like the direction the Indians are headed and I'm still optomistic about there season. I thought Silsbee played hard and represented themselves well. I'll exclude Gaines from that. He's in need of some sportsmanship classes. Talent is all it takes, leave the attitude on the bus son. Good luck the rest of the way Tigers.
WOW, an cleveland indian calling out anyone on sportsmanship. I'm with you BADSANTA about looking for an example of sportsmanship. It's about like an aggie football player having an burnt orange jursey on. Leave the attitude on the bus, please.

18. It's the Mike and Tim show coming at you live from Indain Stadium. The Silsbee Tigers travel to hostile grounds to take on the Cleveland Indains. Both teams coming off lopsided Week 0 wins, the Tigers was a little ugly though. Both teams are 1-0 and will be facing better squads than they played last week. So tune in for the pre-game show at 7:00 and then at 7:30 the stars of Friday Night Football  start, also stay tuned for the half time show with updates from games all around Southeast Texas. Go Tigers!!!
19. I know when I played, at one two-a-day practice coach would hand out a 3x5 index card to ALL players and we had to put our information on it. One was your birth date. That way he knew what the UIL needed to know about you.
20. One hot and long night. Way to many penalties. I know it's the first game of the season and you would expect a few but not 30 or more. Waltrip is huge on the offense and defense line. There defense will blitze you 99.9% of the time and it will come from every were and any were. On offense there QB was not bad and he had some big tall WR's to throw to.  But the guy that stood out for Waltrip was Shaquille Ashton #4.  He had 92 yards and a TD receving and 36 yards rushing, that's 128 total yards and there only TD. And this guy is just a Soph.! As for Silsbee, although it was a lopsided win there are plenty of things to improve on. Like penalties. There were 5 of 6 balls batted down at the line of scrimmage and we let 2 or 3 balls go through our hands. Get these guys timing down and they could be really good. The offensive line is there. Was able to open some holes for the run. Now for the defense, not to bad. Did well against the run, got plenty of pressure on the QB and the young DB's did more than held there own against there big tall WR's. Man, our coaches will have alot to say to our players even though we won. Go Tigers!!!
