Here are the standings for the flag division without the last game. Western Dist. Eastern Dist. Silsbee White 5-0,6-0 Buna Blue 5-0,6-0 EC Green 4-1,5-1 Mauricville Gold 4-1,5-1 Silsbee Maroon 3-1,4-2 Deweyville 2-2,3-3 HJ White 3-3,3-3 Mauricville Purple 2-2,3-3 HF Blue 2-3,2-3 Warren Orange 2-2,2-4 EC Gold 2-4,2-4 Buna White 2-3,2-4 As y'all can see both Dist. have there favorites and depending on this weekends games some will squeak in by a hair. In the Western Dist. I know both Silsbee teams won this weekend as far as EC Green I don't know. All three of them are in and probably in that order. My favorite teams are Silsbee White or EC Green for the Super Bowl. Those two teams played earlier in the year and man that was a great game. Silsbee Maroon is just a step behind. I look for these three teams to advance to the second round. Don't know anything about the Eastern Dist. but if you can go a season undefeated or with just one lose your good. They played spoiler last year. These next two games Silsbee has to really buckle down and focus on what is at stake. I see Silsbee winning this game, H-F has matched up good with Silsbee the past two years. On a Halloween night what tricks will be up each coaches sleeves to get the treat. Go Tigers!!!

In 1983 two teams went to the playoffs. Jasper went undefeated, while Silsbee, LC-M, and Lincoln each having one lose. Silsbee beat Lincoln, Lincoln beat LC-M, and LC-M beat Silsbee. There was not a coin toss to decided who went to the playoffs. It was decided by a point spread system, with Lincoln having the best spread. That year, entering district play, Silsbee, Jasper, Lincoln, LC-M, and Bridge City where very highly ranked in state. Not sure about Bridge City in the top 25 but very close. Silsbee, Jasper, Lincoln all were in the top 10. I think all, at some time, were in the top 5. LC-M was in the top 15 and mite have had some time in the top 10. "The game of the Decade" as some newspapers called it was Jasper v Silsbee. Both teams at that time were in the top 10 and may have been in the top 5. This district was smash mouth football.

Well Im not really sure what game you were watching but #50(Meighen) was going 1 on 1 with skinner all game long until the end of the 4th quarter when skinner decided not to come to his side for the rest of the game. Also Im not really sure when skinner got to the backfield but I know he didnt have more than one guy on him. Do you know how stupid that sounds to TRIPLE team a defensive end. Obviously not the game you where watching, I was on the 47 yard line about 20 rows up, not on cloud nine where you obviously where if you could not see that. And its not to stupid to TRIPLE team a defensive end every now and then. Hey, am not taking anything away from this game or what any player did. In my last post I said "sometimes" he was tripled teamed, not all the time. # 50 did a good job, but there was help. You sound like it was one on one all game long. I'll tell you what, I'll watch the film on the game again, just to make sure. I love watching a good football game.

Yes, Kelly did a good job on Skinner. # 50 was the one lined up opposite to him, but he was not the only one blocking him. It seamed Kelly game planned blocking skims for him and it worked most of the time. I saw several times Skinner in the backfield with two sometimes three guys on him. This will be Skinners whole year, getting extra attention from opponents. Now, how he overcomes this well just have to see. Go Tigers!!!

Silsbee finally got a lead late and held on to it. This was a good game. Can't wait to watch it next Wednesday. Congrats Tigers on a hard fought game and win. Just a good game. Go Tigers!!!

Kelly mite be week this year, but they are a well coached and disciplined team. It will almost like the first game of the year, excepted Silsbee knows there weaknesses in games situations and will be working on them. I'm glad Silsbee got to schedule two good teams to play (Kelly and Jasper) against before districts starts. Go Tigers!!!

I'm going with Silsbee in this game. A homer pick, I know. This game is being played out side the norm this early in the year. Being played on a Saturday and a good Diboll team having to travel will give the Tigers the edge. Both defenses needs work and they will get all they can handle from each others offenses. On a Saturday night game, the Silsbee fans will help pull our Tigers to victory. Go Tigers!!!

I seen that Diboll put up some big passing yards last week. I guess well be working on pass defense. I like my Tigers chances. Go Tigers!!!
