  1. If you are a pitcher here is "a" golden rule for college. Speed will get you looked at and onto a college team then Accuracy will get you on the mound and stay in college.
  2. The Tigers entered the second down by three, ended the second up by eighteen.
  3. You beat our freshman/sophomore team, because of this stupid pandemic. It's still an L in the record book for Silsbee, but when you tell the story, tell the whole story.
  4. 22-4A District Standings thru first half of district play Team District Season 1) #2 Silsbee 6-0 21-5 2) Orangefield 4-2 20-8 2) LC-M 4-2 17-9 2) WO-S 4-2 7-11 5) Lumberton 2-4 14-10 6) Vidor 1-5 8-15 7) Bridge City 0-6 11-18 Silsbee has raced through the first half of district play scoring an average of 96 points a game and winning by an average of 38.2 points a game. A three-way tie for second between Orangefield, LC-M and WO-S. OF beat LCM, WOS beat OF, LCM beat WOS. Last years district champion (Lumberton) finds themselves two games out of a playoff spot. Second half prediction: Silsbee staying perfect in district play OF, LCM, WOS fighting it out for playoff seedings with WOS making the most noise Lumberton needing help for that final playoff spot Vidor and BC looking to play spoiler
  5. It ain't like we lost to a nobody team. That game in '18 hurt worse than the game in '16.
  6. Who is doing the broadcast? Mike has retired and he is the only one I know that has done Silsbee basketball.
  7. You are right, that's exactly what a team like Silsbee is supposed to do against a team like bc. But, when has that stopped the questions about dunk count, scoring, scoring runs, ect.
  8. That's it? I can't believe there's no other comment on this game? No dunk count? No score comment? No stat comment? A sixty-four point win, Silsbee breaking the board with one hundred points and just fourteen comments. Oh well, on to the next game. Good win Silsbee, keep it up.
  9. It has been stated earlier in this thread that Silsbee Varsity players did not practice or play any games for two weeks before that game. If memory is correct not all players where back and regular starters rotated more often than normal because of the effect of covid. A full Silsbee team did beat lumberton in lumberton three weeks before by 14 points. Lumberton got lucky the second time around last year.
  10. Isn't that what happened last year when Lumberton beat Silsbee?
  11. Lufkin a big 5A team came to Silsbee and tried to set their tempo, as AAW stated above, a fast slowed downed tempo. They would bring the ball down and pass the ball around and slow down the clock all the while having the defense run around trying to defend the ball and wear them down. Lufkin would pass the ball and find a chink in the defense and put the ball up relying on their 6'5' big in the middle to clear the boards and kick it back out. Well, this Tiger team is a different type of animal this year and this game our big man in the middle neutralized their big guy and our speed was a little faster than their speed and their game plan of wearing us down and taking control in the fourth quarter backed fired on them. You brought ten players and you left with an L. NEXT!!!
  12. Bottley killing the 3s 5:08 left Silsbee up 64-50
  13. Silsbee got sloppy the last few minutes of the second period and aloud Lufkin to close the gap. Lufkin hits their mid-range jumpers and moves the ball around very good. Lufkin had trouble with Silsbee's pressure at first but is settling down now. Silsbee missing to many three pointers.
  14. You miss a couple of shots in this game and you can widen the gap in a hurry or close the gap in a hurry. BUT widen the gap in a hurry at the end of the first half.
  15. Hey Mike, you broadcasting this game???!!!…😁
  16. I also believe this will be a high scoring game, maybe in the thirties and quite possible in the forties. Both teams offenses have the ability to get up and down the field. Time of position and convert third downs with be the key of the game, keep the other teams offense off the field and ware out the others defense. On defense, you can not miss on opportunities. Get off the field on third and longs, turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. I think we’re about to see a really good game between these two teams.
