So, what did it tell you when Silsbee beat Nederland early this year? This was not the outcome we expected. We are young this year, Lessons to learn from the loss last night.

The Silsbee Tigers (7-5, 1-0) will host the Bridge City Cardinals (9-4-2, 1-0). It's an early match up of two of the top teams in district 22-4A. The Tigers won their district opener beating Lumberton 6-0 while the Cardinals needed extra innings to beat Hamshire Fannett 1-0. The Cardinals own a 20-7 record over the Tigers since 2007 sweeping the district series last year. The Tigers last win against the Cardinals was in 2017. The JV will start at 4:30 and Varsity at 7:00.

It's the district opener for District 22-4A and two Hardin County teams will go at it Tuesday night. It's the Village Creek Classic as the Silsbee Tigers (5-3) will travel across Village Creek to take on the Lumberton Raiders (1-5-1) in the first game of the district series. The Tigers own a 8-5 record over the Raiders since 2007 with Silsbee winning the last four game. The last Lumberton win was in 2015 a 10-8 victory. Silsbee won both games last year, a 12-2 and 8-0 win. These two teams have been in and out of districts for a long time and their back together again. It's going to be a cold night over in Raider Land. The JV will start at 4:30 and Varsity starts at 7:00. It's the Tigers and Raiders kicking the district season off.
