I got Silsbee scoring 9 runs and Kountze scoring 5 runs. Early pitching was pretty good for both teams working out of trouble and some good defensive plays. It was basically two swings from the bat of Kountze's big first baseman that produced all their runs, and RBI double in the first inning and a grand slam in the seventh. Silsbee had several opportunities though out the scrimmage but couldn't string enough hits together until the last couple of innings. Another cold night of baseball that provided several things to work on for the Tigers.

Really!! Your losing by double digits and you stay in a low zone and don’t come out to defend. Last I heard stall is one facet of the game. Hay, your losing we’re winning do something about it or just watch us win.

The Silsbee Tigers will host the Kountze Lions in a scrimmage Tuesday night at the Tiger Diamond Varsity starting around 6:00. This starts the last week of scrimmages as the regular season is a week away.

I got Silsbee scoring 3 runs and Orangefield scoring 8 runs. It was 40 at first pitch and 38 at the end of the scrimmage. I got to give it to both teams, how they functioned in that cold weather, pitching, hitting, running, fielding, hats off to them. It was a close scrimmage until the last inning. Both teams pitching, hitting, and fielding was good. Silsbee lost a little focus on the mound in the last inning and Orangefield jumped on it, allowing the seven runs. Hope everyone warms up.

The Silsbee Tigers will Host the Orangefield Bobcats this Friday in their second scrimmage of the season. These two are old district foes and should be a good test for both teams. Looks like it will be a blanket and hot chocolate type of night. The Varsity will kick off around 6:00. It’s the Tigers verses the Bobcats. Baseball season is here!!!

This game was not as close as the score looks. That first half Silsbee dominated both ends of the court. The only thing that didn’t go right was the three point shooting. If Silsbee was to make half their three point attempts it would have been a 30+ half time lead. HJ came out the second half and looked like the HJ of old, running down court, moving the ball around, slashing to the basket, passing the ball. But that didn’t last for three or four minutes until the Tigers put a stop to it. In the fourth Silsbee’s bench players got a lot of playing time against a top ranked team, HJ was able to score points on them but no where near enough. In the end Silsbee was just to talented, to fast, just to good.

Good job Tigers. Another district championship. Now, finish the district out with no injuries and get ready for the playoffs

I got Silsbee scoring 9 runs and Newton 0 runs. A good first scrimmage for the young Silsbee team to settle the nerves and get the butterflies out. You got to pitch strikes and swing at strikes and that's what Silsbee did. Only gets tougher from here on out.

The Silsbee Tigers will travel to Newton County to scrimmage the Newton Eagles. It’s the first scrimmage of the season for these two teams. Silsbee will be a bit young this year and will need some youngsters to step up. No JV scrimmage. The Varsity starts at 5:00. The Tigers verse the Eagles Monday night. Baseball is here!!!

One of the best defensive coordinators in the business, not so much a head coach. I think this man should end up in the hall of fame when he’s all said and done.

It looked like the shooter did land on his feet. The defender just started on his way down and the shooter was already on his feet. From what you have typed, to my understanding, no foul.

I was not at the game. I got a questions. Is it a foul if the ball was tipped? The film is a little blurry at that point but that Silsbee defender go up there, could have tipped the ball. Thing is, if the ball was tipped it almost went in maybe that is why it almost went in. Who knows?
