Silsbee 79 Hardin-Jefferson 76/FINAL
STiger85 replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Way to battle through with one of your best players out, a player that scoring 20+ a game. Sounds like HJ played the best they could and still couldn't beat a weakened Silsbee team. -
Normally at this time the sec would be on here thumping their chest claiming “SECond to non” and claiming a championship for their school on the backs of bama. This ain’t last year! The sec can only say some of our lower teams beat yalls lower teams.
-
Who’s name is in the books for the championship?
-
This is an ole 70's rivalry playoff game, just two generations later. Thing is, how healthy will Dallas be. The bumps and bruises accumulated last week. I like the way the defense is playing and the offense is making the most of our opportunities. Dallas can not let the Rams score over 30 points, we can keep it in the 20's our chances of winning goes up tremendously.

I like Dallas at home, maybe setting them starters last week will prove to be good. That Wilson guy though, he’s pretty good. -
Yeah, about how The University of Texas Longhorns kicked that sec butt.
-
You remember all them moral victories aggy dreamed up!

Silsbee will return six on offense, the whole backfield, three O-linemen, no TE, no WR. On Defense we will return five, three D-linemen, two ILB, no OLB, no DB. The QB was thrown into the fire moving up from JV to varsity after week three and taking full starting after week five. You could see him getting more and more comfortable each week of practice, not lacking in confidence or not scared to throw the ball. A strong arm, not booming strong and doesn't look the whole field, tracks his favorite receivers with his eyes. If he can mature and work on his mechanics, how high would be his ceiling. The RB are the best in the business, all of them. We are loosing a Sr but there is a So moving up that will fill in nicely. Only one WR coming back that got playing time, there's another Jr and a So that looks to get playing time. Need to find a TE. The Oline will be returning three, loosing a three year starter and a two year starter. On Defense three starting Dline will return that did really good in their first year starting, need to find OLBs, we are loosing two great ones. At ILB we are losing one of the best to suit up a Silsbee uniform, but we have two that got plenty of playing time. AT DB we are loosing one of the most talented groups I have seen, These guys could cover and tackle as good as any I have seen, basically five players that played every position on the back end, no DBs coming back. If our WRs and DBs develop like they should I like our chances on another looooong playoff run.

Yes, the W and good championship win also. No feelings harmed. Just here to correct the simple minded on the subject.
-
Right, the reason we got caught in the first half. We fixed it at half time.
-
Right, no excuses. After we knocked WOS out of the playoffs again all that was heard was "oh if it wasn't raining, oh if it wasn't so cold". Excuses! When we lost to Cuero you didn't hear excuses why we lost. You did hear reasons why our oline would get called for false starts.
-
Quit making excuse. It would not have mattered what, y'all was not beating Silsbee that night.
-
Congrats to Cuero. After watching this game I would have liked Silsbee's chances against PG. In the second half Cuero wore down the PG defense by running the ball up the middle and that is Silsbee's specialty. Our defense has played against the slot-t/wing-t all year. We can play the what if game but what if Silsbee does not fumble on our last drive.
-
Stupid commit. He didn't have no where near last week what he had at the half of this game.
-
I know of one freshman that was playing with varsity, but don’t know how long or if now that the football boys are back.

Yeah, I got one question to ask you, what the heck you been smoking? -
No, it wasn't. Only a stupid person would think that it didn't count.
-
If your talking about the football players, there aint no fresh legs on them.
-
Silsbee QB out preformed Cuero QB. Matter of face he almost out preformed the QB and the WR that threw the ball.
-
Congrats Cuero. Good Luck

The day has come, and the time draws near to play in the semifinal game of the year. The journey started out not long ago, a journey that required to put on a show. and as we gather our team week to week, we pray to the good Lord for a win we seek. Through our practices and blood, sweet and tears we remember our commitment and sacrifice through the year We fight for our brothers, our teammates is a creed Silsbee Tigers forever is our name, indeed. With a sea of maroon filling up the stands Sounds of Eye of the Tiger from the fighting Tiger Band. And when the night takes over the day, the team from Cuero stands in our way. The Gobblers will find out when we meet, you don't get in the way of what a Tiger seeks. TIGERNATION!!! -

Cuero will be a challenge. They have some players, #3 (WR) their main guy makes them go. A tall, smooth runner make running routs easy, #2 will hurt you too if you aint careful. They have two one thousand yard back #6 (RB) can scat out of the backfield very elusive, also #7 looks like their down hill runner. #12 their QB, a 2,000 yard QB, doesn't have a big strong arm, but he gets the ball where it needs to be on time and accurate. Their Oline will pop you and stand you up and take you where you want to go while letting their RB picks a hole. Their defense is aggressive and fast to the ball. This team is something we have not seen before. If we stay focus and execute we will be fine. Like I said this team will be a challenge, it's time to take that next step. TigerNation!!! -

Really, a few players been playing with injuries and no contact for the past several weeks. Didn’t finish the game with one or two of them. Thing is this is the time of year that you play with bumps and bruises, scraps and scratches. You eat the pain and play on. TigerNation!!!
