  1. LETS DO IT.......... in a Tone Luc voice
  2. Questions to answer? Questions to answer? Who is going to take the heat off of Johnson? Last time we played there was Hughes, Riggs, McZeal they factored in big in helping Johnson. Is there anyone on this PNG team that talented? It will be interesting to see if PNG inexperience WR try to get open. Will the PNG offensive line constantly open holes for the RB and Johnson to run, also how much time is needed for Johnson to be able to throw? This defense of PNG if it is better than last years defense, how much better is it? One touchdown, two touchdown better? Will it be enough? Since Taylor and Martin have started together in the back field for Silsbee only one team slowed them down, Carthage! Now that brings me to Silsbee. Just how well has this offense reloaded at skilled positions? Will thunder and lighten keep on storming along? How has the QB and WRs synched up with each other? How is the defense going to contain Johnson? On the ground or in the air! These are the questions that will be addressed and answered Friday night. You don't know the answers, it will be played out on the field. Lots of tradition will be on the field come Friday. These teams of been playing football sense the 1920's, that's darn near one hundred years. Good luck Friday night and here's to a safe game. TigerNation!!!
  3. Yeah, they where blaring cherokee at practice Monday and Tuesday.
  4. I want to see United compete until the clock has zeros on it, all game long. Win or lose, close or blow out just get out there and don’t quit. If a win fantastic if a loss leave a mark on then, show them that y’all may not have it all together this week BUT is coming!!! Y’all always remember your very first game make it a memorable one. Good luck United
  5. That's the PNG fans we have come to know...
  6. You got PNG 7 points better than little ole Silsbee?
  7. Just a few quick stats First half Brownsboro Silsbee 31-143 Rushing 17-124 3TD 1-5 11 1TD 2INT Passing 2-8 77 2-20 Penalties 4-35 Second Half 23-124 Rushing 10-172 2TD 1-2 2 INT Passing 2-6 52 TD 3-30 Penalties 4-30 Total Yards 54-267 Rushing 27-296 5TD 2-7 13 1TD 3INT Passing 4-14 129 TD 5-50 Penalties 8-65 4/2 Fumbles/Lost 2/0
  8. Well, one thing about it is Silsbee's coaches has several things to work on after this scrimmage. Dropped passes, slow out of the box, out of position on defense, tackling, tackling, tackling!!! It did get better as the scrimmage went on, but things to work on. This was another hard hitting scrimmage. Brownsboro runs hard and hides the ball really good in the back field, gave us problems. After the first quarter we finally got our wits about us.
  9. People it's just a scrimmage, that's what they are for to find out what you need to work on. Making adjustments is WOS cup of tea. You can better believe come next Friday it will be WOS as usual.
  10. Half time Silsbee has 3 TD Brownsboro 1. Silsbee has dropped way to many passes
  11. The Silsbee Tigers and the Brownsboro Bears will meet up in Nacogdoches for the second scrimmage of the season. One more scrimmage until the season starts for the Tigers to iron things out. The Freshman and JV start at 5:00 and Varsity will start at 6:45. TigerNation!!!
  12. Here are just a few stats: There where no middle markers on the field so I did the best I could. First Half Vidor Sil First Half 24-61 Rushing 11-165 TD 1-4 32 Passing 7-9 61TD INT Second Half 22-164 2TD Rushing 25-184 TD 1-2 3 Passing 1-4 5 Total 46-225 2TD Rushing 36-349 2TD 2-6 35 Passing 8-13 66 TD 2INT 1-5 yds Penalties 9-49 yds Field Goal 0-1 40 yds
  13. First things first, just as I suspected this was a good first scrimmage for both teams. It was a hard hitting game from the start to finish. Silsbee pretty much controlled the game in the first half, we also killed ourselves with penalties. Killed one drive and we had a TD called back, also we had a INT in the end zone that was taken out of our receivers hand by a Vidor defender, that was a good play by the Vidor defender. Vidor QB is big and nimble for his size, they have a BIG RB that gave us problems on the inside and outside, also the middle pass was wide open for Vidor all night but our pass rush was able to get to Vidor's QB. Again, I think both teams came away with several things to work on next week. On to next week: TigerNation!!!
  14. For the first time in three years there will not be a senior directing the Tigers offense, this will be in the hands of juniors. I believe the coaches know who the starter will be, but because nether QB has played a significant roll in a varsity game at QBs they have been grilled hard at practice. Both QBs have been given quality amount of time at QB in practice, they have come a long way in these past two weeks and they have a long ways to go. Can't wait to see how our young QBs react to playing another team, can't wait to see how this years version of the Tigers start the year off. TigerNation!!!
  15. The Silsbee Tigers will host the Vidor Pirates in both teams first scrimmage of the year. The freshman and JV will get things started off around the 5:00 hour and Varsity will start around the 7:00 hour. A good first scrimmage for both teams. SETX High School football is finally here. TigerNation!!!
  16. I knew your dining list would be just as good as you football list.
  17. My question is, What restaurant will you be dining at before each game?
  18. From the looks of things it looks like two QBs are getting equal amount of time. Both look good and needing all the reps with the WRs they can get.
  19. Doesn't Zod lose to Superman, every time?!
  20. They also don't want to have to deal with their kids!!!
  21. Why would you say that? It ain’t like we beat one and not the other. We have the same amount of wins against both teams in the last 20 years.
  22. I understand what your saying, like you seen it first hand. WOS defense would not be able to get off the field in the second half. Carthage would score no matter if it took five plays or fifteen plays.
  23. It's the dog days of summer and a little over a month away until high school football practice starts. So, I decided to start this "what if" conversation about two of the best high school football teams I have seen in recent memory playing each other. The 2017 4A DI undefeated state champs Carthage Bulldogs v. the 2016 4A DII undefeated state champs WOS Mustangs. Each team had the athletes and speed to score from all over the field and defenses that you couldn't go wide on, plugged up the middle and got to the QB if you tried to pass the ball. To me this would be a epic high school football game that would be well worth the price of admission. I think this game would be a little more high scoring in that both offenses puts a ton of pressure on the defenses to stop the run or stop the pass. In the end I think Carthage would come out on top, the Bulldog defense would be able to handle the Mustang run game. Also, with as much speed that WOS had on defense Carthage would ware down the front defense line of WOS and take control late in the game. I see Carthage winning by two touchdowns plus, something like 45-30 Carthage. It's a game that would be fun and entertaining to watch and to see the coaching from the side lines would be epic.
  24. Looked like a good game. Anybody got a roster and what area the teams where from?
