  1. No, Silsbee is on probation for finishing a bench clearing fight that the other team started. A boneheaded act by both teams.
  2. Look, we get your school spirit and pride and Newton has every right to that. Newton had a tremendous season. Never in Newton's wildest dreams would y'all beat Carthage. Silsbee played both teams, Newton had to have a great defensive second half and a great offensive fourth quarter to beat us. Carthage had us beat in the first quarter. That's just how it is.
  3. Yep, it's that time of the year. Cold, rainy, windy days and baseball season in SETX. A week of practice in the books and on to the scrimmages. Well, who's scrimmaging who? 2/5 Silsbee v HJ at Silsbee 7:00ish 2/9 Silsbee v PA Memorial 7:00ish
  4. Don't know what the number of seniors has to do with anything. Next year is a long ways away, but it will be here soon enough and that's why there's a chance. Last years game was a good one. That sleep comment not very smart and that QB comment kinda dumb also. I've never known WOS to sleep on any team and has always had a QB that mattered. Maybe, because WOS hangs their hat on the defense is why you made the qb doesn't matter comment. It mite not be a good thing playing WOS next year, how will losing the state championship game motivate them. Again, Silsbee has as tough a non-district as there is to get us prepared for district and playoffs.
  5. Correct. The Johnson (Soph) QB the JV until the last few game of the year then he was moved up to varsity. The Freshman, Foster, QB the freshman team then moved up to finish out the JV season and you should know all about Foster. These two maybe had one or two losses between them in their respected spots. So, what does that mean, that means that Silsbee has some prospects for QB and August is a long way away. TigerNation!!!
  6. The backup QB was a senior. The JV QB (Soph) was a righty, that was moved up to varsity the last few games of the season and playoffs. The lefty QB the Freshman team then moved up to finish out the JV season. The Sophomore May have the early nod, but August is a long ways away.
  7. No. He(( no. It would be over at halftime!
  8. What in the world is going on around here! Two schools having to forfeit games?
  9. So it looks like Silsbee is looking for one more game!
  10. So, playing closer to home in a state championship game does not matter? Look, I'm a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan all my life. I've been to Texas Stadium, Astrodome, AT&T Stadium, and NRG Stadium. Texas Stadium will always be in my heart, the stadium with the hole in the roof so God can see his team play football. It was a great stadium, but it got old quick in the '90s. NRG Stadium is really nice, It's nicer than Texas Stadium and Astrodome but that's it, nothing amazing about it, nothing that you can say wow to. AT&T Stadium the most grandest stadium built. It is just simply mind boggling, inside and out. Everywhere you look it's just, WOS. Now, The Astrodome, there is nothing look like traveling along 610 loop and come over the overpass and see that dome stadium miles away. From the first time I stepped foot in side to the last time I stepped foot in side it always took my breath away. When you walked through the tunnel to go to your set and you looked up and around the stadium you had to take a second and wonder. This is what I remember about these stadiums. I know all the Dallas haters hate going to AT&T Stadium and they would want to play in cowdump stadium instead of there, but haters going to hate and that's no argument. The fact of the matter is any player will tell you it doesn't matter where we play a state championship as long as I'm in it. Now, would you want to tell people that you played it in Texas Stadium or The Astrodome, some great stadium names and lots of history. Would you want to tell them you played in AT&T Stadium, Jerry World, greatest stadium is every seen. Or NRG Stadium it was such a nice stadium.
  11. BISD has three head football coaches that make a combined $258,000. Now, I ask you with two head coaches why would you pay a average salary (98,000) to get an average head coach. Get that head coaching pay to $100,000+, for both schools. By combining the two schools your going to be saving tons of money on coaches salary left over, so get the coaches salary up to be competitive. Hire more coaches! Your going to have the money to do so. It's the same with every sport, get the salary up and get some coaches in Beaumont to will make the sports competitive. Same can be said for teachers. Your have wiggle room on salaries. I think, this is one of the things the BOM will be remembered the most. JMO
  12. The day has come! Texas High School Baseball starts today. 8 mores hours.
  13. I guess when you see a sign on the stadium that says “Max Capacity 10,500” and the stadium looks like it will hold more it makes you wonder.
  14. I would think fill the tank up and go. Maybe play PA Memorial, also there is a school named Shadow Creek that could be competitive. Maybe another top 5A D1 school in this part of the state. Need to find teams that will challenge you on your level. Those teams are few and far between
  15. Bite your tongue boy, if LCM would have acted right to begin with we wouldn't have a problem.
