Kemp came and did a good job closing the game out. Silsbee got a runner on third base in the first two innings and was not able to get a run across the plate. Silsbee pitchers did good (Bryan, J. The dress rehearsals are over and the Texas High School Baseball Season begins, state wide teams quest for a state championship starts Monday Feb. 19. The Silsbee Tigers (22-4A) will host the Nederland Bulldogs (22-5A) on Opening Night, Monday Feb. 19. The Tigers where 26-6 last year, placed second in district and made it to the quarterfinal round of the playoffs. The Bulldogs where 12-14-2 last year a fourth place finish in district and lost in the first round of the playoffs. These two teams have not played regularly in a long time and where in the same district back in 2003. I think this should be one of the better opening day match ups in SETX. Now if the rain can let up a little. TigerNation!!!

Ethan surgery went well today, a little more damage than first thought. If he can get through this weekend passing all his eye test it will be a victory. As it looks right now, doctors thinking six weeks before practicing baseball again. Here's to getting through this weekend!
