You really can’t go to much on our first five games. Silsbee had an injury list as long as your arm, also of all the tragedies that took a toll on the team. Nothing was normal until after the LCM game. I have to commend our coaches for the job that they did getting our team ready to play those weeks. Once things started getting normal and we got healthy our team started producing.

Yeah, and everybody in SETX knows it.

Nope!

Not if a certain team wins the state championship!

So, Silsbee wins??? -
Game Day: I don't think ether teams players will get much schooling done today as there focus will be on the game tonight. Carthage is simply Carthage, with five state championships in their back pockets most recently last year, great tradition. Not only will Silsbee have to beat the greatest Carthage football team ever assembled along with the best coaching staff in the state of Texas you will have to contend with that great tradition that Carthage has made for themselves. No Carthage player wants to be the team to say "we lost". It also helps that Carthage plays in the so called "District of Doom" as some district 9 4A teams call themselves. Carthage offense is very good and very balanced. Their QB is accurate and will throw the ball away to avoid a sac, that doesn't happen very often. Their WRs are very good, run short routs and have the ablity to turn them into big gains. If you worry about the passing then Carthage has a RB that is one of the best in the state of Texas (University of Texas). On defense Carthage is long on the D-line and they cause havoc, that lets the all-state linebackers make ESPN highlight plays. Their defensive backs fly to the ball and not much separation. Silsbee will have their hands full tonight no doubt. This young team will have to play their best game of the year to get a win. That's one thing Silsbee is doing is playing good ball. Come to think of it Silsbee has some good running backs and their receivers are pretty good too and a quarterback that makes this offense go. The Silsbee defense has got playmakers and fly to the ball and some speed. And we have played some pretty good teams this year too. Our coaching staff aint bad ether. And we have been told that Carthage is a different type of animal. True that, noted. So, sorry Carthage if Silsbee will not lay down at your presents. Silsbee has overcome more this year than just winning football games. Hope y'all don't mind little ole us if we at least try and beat y'all. Safe travels to y'all and to all a good game. There has been a lot of history in Tiger football. Maybe not the biggest game, but right up there with the biggest games in Tiger history. 1977 Silsbee v Dickenson State Semi-Finals, 1983 #8 Silsbee v #1 Lincoln: Silsbee homecoming, 1998 Silsbee v #2 WOS Bi-District, 1998 Silsbee v #1 La Marque State Quarter Finals, 2015 Silsbee v Carthage State Quarter Finals. Just to name a few that I think should be the biggest games in Tiger history. I'm looking for a Silsbee/Carthage game like last year, where it will be a fight all game long and will come down to the final minutes of the game. TigerNation!!!

That’s fine I’ll stick to my original post, 25 is way to many.

Any final scores on freshmen and JV games? -
Old school that’s exactly what I meant. You didn’t read to good. The All-Pro team is more comparable to the All-State team, not a All-District team.
-
I would have to say no. I also would think you would compare the All-Pro team to a high school All-State team.
-
The times of old have gone away, the 2WR 1TE 1FB 1RB offensives sets are few and far between. Now days there are 4WR sets or 2TE sets or 1RB sets. Sometimes you will not see the same offense schemes in the same district. Also, same for the defense sets. You got the 4-3, 3-4, 42, 50 and so on. With so many sets there is around it’s hard to nail down 11 players for All district. I also think the superlatives should be in a spot on their own. If your good enough to get recognized for being above and beyond you should have a spot above everyone else. Now, putting 25 on a team is a mite much. This is how I see it and my opinion.

Ok, tell me again, how many days till baseball season!
-
So, Central has nobody hurt, no body playing any other sport? A full roster for varsity?
-
So, Central will have full force of their basketball team that they have available?
-
Yes, both right. My thinking was off. lol

The Silsbee Tigers will take on an ol' foe, the Carthage Bulldogs, in the Regional round of the playoffs. The Tigers (7-4) are the District 10 Co-Champs and the #1 seed, the Bulldogs are the defending 4A-DI state champions (12-0) are the #1 ranked team in state of Texas in 4A, the District 9 Champs the #1 seed. The game will be played in Lufkin at Abe Martin Stadium Friday at 7:30. This will be the sixth time these two teams have met in the playoffs with Carthage having a 4-1 record over Silsbee. These two teams have two common opponents in Huffman and Center. Carthage beat Center 42-12 and beat Huffman 46-10. Silsbee beat Huffman 61-30 and beat Center 37-17. The last two games have been exciting, in 2015 Carthage pulled away in the fourth quarter winning 56-40 and last year Carthage had to come from behind and score the game winning touchdown with 14 seconds left on the clock to jump start their playoff drive to a state championship. I expect nothing less from this years game. TigerNation!!!
